Theoretical and Practical Approaches to Private Equity under Conditions of the Czech Republic

Author of this dissertation focuses on venture capital financing in the Czech Republic. Individual aspects of venture capital financing from the perspective of investors and also businesses are researched and evaluated in this work and formulated proposals for changes that may lead to the development of venture capital financing in the Czech Republic .This research is based on findings published in foreign scientific journals and own research. This dissertation has several scientific objectives. It is necessary to identify the evaluation criteria used by the investors to evaluate the proposed business plans. It is also important to research the nonfinancial added value and to determine the forms of support businesses receive from the investors. The final objective is to identify the limitations of venture capital financing in the Czech Republic. A list of recommendations that should improve the condi-tions of venture capital financing is formulated based on these identified limitations. Primary research was conducted with the help of questionnaires and interviews. Resulting qualitative data was evaluated with the help of Microsoft Excel. Thorough analysis of the qualitative data allowed the formulation of conclusions which can be found in the final part of this work. This dissertation provides a complex view of venture capital financing in the Czech Republic, its specifics, conditions and limitations.

Credit risk management

The goal of the Master`s thesis is the credit risk analysis of existing corporation done from the point of view of a fictitious multinational corporation which operates in petrochemical business. At first, it deals with general definition of credit risk, tools for its management and methods for its elimination. Later, in the analytical section on an example of concrete model from practice modern trends in credit risk management are demonstrated, potential obstacles are analyzed and the most frequent problems with its application are noted. The main asset of the thesis is a comprehensive introduction of actual credit risk management system supplemented with own observations and experience. The outcome is an educational material for people with interest in given topic as well as for professionals in the field of credit risk management.
Valuation of Iveco Czech Republic, a.s.

Diploma thesis deals with the valuation of the company Iveco a.s., for the management needs. The estimated value refers to December 2016. The basis for the valuation is strategic and financial analysis. The results will be taken into account for establishment of the financial plan, which will be used in the valuation process. Emphasis is placed on yield methods using free cash flow to the firm(FCFF) and economic value added EVA. Both methods are compared with book value of the company.
Optimization of primary schools

The main goal of this thesis is to describe the current situation of capacity of primary schools in the selected area of Prague and suggest optimization options. In the first part of my thesis the theoretical apparatus needed to understand the issue of education is presented. The main focus here is on the legislation related to the issue of education. The practical part of my thesis is based on the results of questionnaire survey focused on primary schools and additional e-mail survey focused on the founders of these schools. The public elementary schools established by the Prague 1 to Prague 10 municipalities were selected for the survey. On the basis of the information found, the practical part is closed by suggestions for solving the unsatisfactory situation both from the viewpoint of individual primary schools and from the point of view of their founders.
Valuation of Linea Nivnice, a.s.

The aim of this thesis is to estimate the investment value of Linea Nivnice, a.s. by the date 1st January 2016. This thesis serves as a source of information and may serve as a basis for decision making of company's owners and potential investors. After stating a brief information about company, a financial analysis for last 5 years before valuation date is created. After that follows a strategic analysis, which concludes into company's sales prognosis. After that comes analysis and prognosis of value drivers, which are used to create financial plan. The last chapter consists of valuation using two methods, which are DCF Entity and market comparison. Thefinal investment value is estimated according to the result of DCF Entity method.

The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical part and practical part. The first part describes the basic concepts necessary for valuation of the company and it gives the bases for practical part. The second part is focused on the introduction of the company, strategic and financial analysis and forecasting of value drivers, financial statements and final valuation of the company.
Tax optimization of companies

This diploma thesis deals with tax optimization of companies. The thesis is divided into two main parts - the theoretical and practical part. The introduction of the theoretical part describes the history of taxes, their basic characteristics and the importance of their collection for today's society. Subsequently, the tax system of the Czech Republic with a focus on value added tax and corporation tax is presented. The practical part deals with specific possibilities of optimization of the amount of corporate income tax and value added tax. The opening chapter of the practical part emphasizes the difference between tax optimization and tax evasion. Subsequently, the options for optimizing the income tax are presented - from the very start of business, through the optimization of the tax base, tax deductions and deductible items. In the case of value added tax, the work deals on one hand with the tax registration itself and on the other with the group tax registration. Work should provide comprehensive guidance for reducing tax burden on businesses.
The impact of regulation on the protection of financial intermediary clients

Financial intermediation due to misselling harms consumers. The work concerns to regulation of financial intermediaries and relation between financial intermediary and his or her client. The main objective is to analyze how the regulatory of commissions impact financial intermediation. The paper analyzes the current form of legal status of financial intermediation in the European Union and the Czech Republic and results in analyzing the impacts of regulatory proposals that was discussed in Chamber of Deputies Parliament of the Czech Republic. It concludes that if the proposals were accepted, it will not improve the quality of consumer protection, but even can cause damage to the client. The current legislative base moreover provides sufficient resources to prosecuting financial intermediation, which does not respect the client's interest. For analyzing the relation between financial intermediary and his or her client is developed theoretical model based on theory of games.
