Competitive Intelligence
Mikuš, Ondřej ; Karásek, Jan (referee) ; Bartes, František (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the practical use of competitive intelligence, a method increasingly used to support decision making nowadays. The essential key principle is based on collection of precise data and their thourough analysis. The obtained information gives a comprehensive overview of the competitor analysis. The acquired knowledge of the competition is important for company's strategic decision-making processes. At the beginning the thesis gives a theoretical background on different means of data collecting including the ethic kodex. Folowing is the identification of the modern sources of information. Further, various methods and approaches of competitive intelligence are described. And the theoretical background on competitive strategies and their impact on the market wraps up the theoretical part of the thesis. The method is applied to create departmet of competitive inteligence for the company. Then the various options for further go to market activities are described and the scope of cooperation with selected customers is evaluted. The thesis describes the competitive intelligence advantages and the possible ways of aplications for the competitive strategy. At the end, the recommendations for the management of the company are summed up.
Content management system in ASP.NET
Rejko, Peter ; Karásek, Jan (referee) ; Morský, Ondřej (advisor)
Aim of this thesis is the description of the Microsoft .NET Framework, its different versions, architecture, and its assembly, used for its simplistic architecture, and ease of use with the assembly it is the ideal environment for creating modular applications. The work describes the C# programming language and its versions. It includes a description of the different stages and evolution of the web application framework ASP.NET. It includes a short description of the ADO.NET and LINQ technologies, used to access data from databases. It describes different databases, they structure and classification. At the end there is a layout for a database structure, blogging system, aim and structure of the files, the different system parts and functions.
Text data clustering algorithms
Sedláček, Josef ; Burget, Radim (referee) ; Karásek, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with text mining. It describes the theory of text document clustering as well as algorithms used for clustering. This theory serves as a basis for developing an application for clustering text data. The application is developed in Java programming language and contains three methods used for clustering. The user can choose which method will be used for clustering the collection of documents. The implemented methods are K medoids, BiSec K medoids, and SOM (self-organization maps). The application also includes a validation set, which was specially created for the diploma thesis and it is used for testing the algorithms. Finally, the algorithms are compared according to obtained results.
Evolutionary algorithms
Bortel, Martin ; Karásek, Jan (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
Thesis describes main attributes and principles of Evolutionary and Genetic algorithms. Crossover, mutation and selection are described as well as termination options. There are examples of practical use of evolutionary and genetic algorithms. Optimization of distribution routes using PHP&MySQL and Google Maps API technologies.
Towards the Automatic Design of Image Filters Based on Tree Genetic Programming
Koch, Michal ; Omran, Yara (referee) ; Karásek, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deal with tree genetic programming algorithm. This idea is applied for solving symbolic regression tasks as well designs image filters. At first are introduced a basic concept of genetic programming and reduction of solution space. The next part presents own implementation and achieved results. Result of this work is modular system for making image filters define by specific parameters.
Automatic image annotation
Hegmon, Jiří ; Karásek, Jan (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
Recognition and comparison of image is one of the main problems and area of the field of computer vision. This thesis adds to these two issues the third, the recognition image semantics, so called annotations or labels. This work uses the knowledge of methods of recognizing the similarity of images to create a tool that is able based on training dataset of images and annotations, create a group most likely annotation for the test set of images. This work presents several types of test datasets suitable for the detection of annotation information for images. Subsequently, best set with the necessary training dataset size and enough information about annotations is selected. Based on this training dataset algorithm is designed for easy loading test set without large demands on computer performance. Evaluation of annotation information is done based on different similarity algorithms. At the beginning of this work was to use a simple, but not very effective method of MSE and comparison of color histograms, but gradually it was necessary to move to using more advanced methods (such as Tamura, Gabor, CEDD nebo různé druhy hostistogramů). The results of this comparison are then taken to evaluate the likelihood of the annotation for the image specified test set. The last part is an evaluation of the accuracy of annotation based on information from the test set.
Data serialization and formats for information exchange
Procházka, Jaroslav ; Karásek, Jan (referee) ; Morský, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with a data encryption and data formats that can be used to exchange information and can be used to data serialization and deserialization data. The data is further explained and serialization and deserialization process of converting data structures, objects in a sequence of bits, which can later be stored in the cache memory or transferred to a computer network. They are thoroughly described in the best-known data formats, XML and JSON. The paper evaluates the different formats and compares them in terms of processing speed, memory consumption and execution of each format. Design and application of custom data format for data transfer and storage.
Modular Content Management System in ASP.NET
Michalovič, Miroslav ; Karásek, Jan (referee) ; Malina, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis contains a proposal of a content management system, created according to the standards usually required of systems working with content management, these standards are the object of the opening chapter. In this chapter, options of the realization and their advantages are also discussed. The system is realized through ASP.NET, which is a part of a bigger .NET Framework, a platform, which also comprises of some additional technologies, which were used in the project. The technologies used during the application development are discussed in the second chapter. The content management in the proposed application would not be possible without a functional database, which the third chapter describes. A relational database model based on a client-server communication using SQL inquiries was selected for the developed application. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the application creation itself, which is made of a simple interface for the synchronization of clients’ replies to the events of logged users. This chapter also contains a database proposal and a description of the individual application content. The final chapter is dedicated to the security of the project along with the potential risks description and their existing or proposed solutions. The appendices shows the visual part of application and it’s components.
Evolutionary computing
Popelka, Jan ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Karásek, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor's Thesis was to get acquainted with the Evolutionary Optimization Techniques, mainly with the Genetic Algorithm and Genetic Programming. It was subsequently described the role of optimization problem TSP solved using Genetic Algorithms and other Chapter solving Symbolic Regression using Genetic Programming. This optimalization problems were created in the programming JAVA and there are solved practical part of the thesis.
Voting service for IPTV
Menclík, Tomáš ; Karásek, Jan (referee) ; Müller, Jakub (advisor)
This thesis deals with a concept and implementation of voting service for IPTV. Implementation of this service is executed in programming language Java and uses programming structures, which were already done. These structures are intended for simulation of propertys of tree transmition protocol. Outside of the concept and implementation of voting service, there are presented protocols, which IPTV uses for communication. And also voting service, implemented in this thesis, uses their propertys. There are also mentioned dierences between outlined and implemented voting service as the implementation does not keep strictly the concept of the voting service.
