The reliabilty of isokinetic strength measurement

Title: Reliability of isometric and isokinetic strength testing in the knee flexion and extension Objectives: To compare the reliability of isometric and isokinetic testing of the knee strength in flexion and extension Methods: I used intraclass correlation coefficient and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: I have discovered that the reliability measured on isokinetic and isometric dynamometer is high. Furthermore the reliability of the maximum strength measurement was higher with-using the isokinetic dynamometer. Advanced nuclear reactors’ promising fuels

This bachelor thesis focuses on the development of nuclear reactors and the fuel burned them. Thesis describes the various types of nuclear fuel, including the ways they are treated either before or after use in a nuclear power plant. Also included is a description of the situation of nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. In conclusion focuses on the state of some upcoming projects of the future.

Prediction of the Effect of Amino Acid Substitutions on the Secondary Structure of Proteins

This thesis is focused on amino acid substitutions and their impact on protein secondary structure. The main aim is to prove, that although the protein sequence is frequently mutated during the evolution, protein secondary structure is more robust against changes. In this case, the elements of protein secondary structure stay almost unchanged although a significant number of substitutions is observed. The proof of this hypothesis was obtained by developed simulator of evolution which employs two well-estabilished predicting tools: PSIPRED for prediction of protein secondary structure and PhD-SNP for prediction of the effect of amino acid substitution on protein function. The results of the experiments are provided as graphs and their meainings is discussed.

Prediction of Protein Stability upon Amino Acid Mutations Using Evolution Strategy

This thesis is focused on predicting the impact of amino acid substitution on protein stability. The main goal is to create a consensual predictor that uses the outputs of chosen existing tools in order to improve accuracy of prediction. The optimal consensus of theese tools was designed using evolution strategies in three variants: 1/5 success rule, self-adaptation variant and the CMA-ES method. Then, the quality of calculated weight vectors was tested on the independent dataset. Although the highest prediction performance was attained by self-adaptation method, the differences between all three variants were not significant. Compared to the individual tools, the predictions provided by consensual methods were generally more accurate - the self-adaptation variant imporved the Pearson's corelation coeficient of the predictions by 0,057 on the training dataset. On the testing dataset, the improvement of designed method was smaller (0,040). Relatively low improvement of prediction performance (both on the training and the testing dataset) were caused by the fact, that for some records of testing dataset, some individual tools vere not able to provide their results. When omitting these records, consensual method improved the Pearson's corelations coeficient by 0,118.

Manipulator for cylinder heeling

This diploma thesis discusses a proposal of "a manipulator for casting of cylinders". This manipulator is a part of a brushing machine complex, which is not a part of my diploma thesis. With the aid of the manipulator it is possible to exchange cylinders of brushing machines. The computational section includes calculations of traversing mechanism, stroke mechanism and electric drive. Furthermore, a calculation of the main constructional elements is solved. One part of the diploma thesis is, indeed, dedicated to the partial graphic documentation, which is in the range of the assembly reports of the manipulator main parts.

Assessment of the activities of the Fire and Rescue Service Czech Republic in the individual regions related to animal rescue

In this thesis, the author deals with mapping and evaluation of the number and type of total interventions Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic in the individual regions, which were related to animal rescue. In the literary part explains the terminology, types of interventions and amenities of FRS animal rescue, both technical and preservatives. Furthermore, identifies ways of handling the animals in emergencies and interventions, highlights ethology and behavior of individual species and also dealt with a safety. The numbers and types of interventions in individual regions of the Czech Republic are processed in tables and include the development and frequency of interventions FRS from 2008 to 2013. The obtained findings are presented in the statistical table that gives a comprehensive view of the situation in individual regions.

The Assessment of the Activities of the Fire Rescue Department of the South Bohemia Region Related to Animal Rescue

The aim of this bachelor´s work was to determine and assess the numbers and types of the total amount of the fire-fightings of the Fire Department of South Bohemia, which involved the animal rescue. The first part of this work explains the term ?emergency?. It also describes the types of interventions and facilities of the Fire Department for animal rescue, with both technical means and safety equipment. This work further presents the ways of handling animals during emergencies and emergency interventions, points out occupational safety. The second part deals with the processing of the results of the statistical monitoring of the numbers and types of interventions to rescue animals and shows the development and the frequency of interventions in the years 2006 - 2010 in the Czech Republic and the South Bohemian Region. The conclusion shows the economic aspects of interventions to rescue animals.
