Stabilization of construction pits

The main objective of this research work is to describe the basic methodology of designing and implementing the stabilization of construction pits. In the introduction, the thesis deals with the basic description and use of construction pits and their professional classification. Then, the thesis describes the common tools and methods that are needed to make a design and assessment of the stabilization of construction pits. The section on sloped pits describes slope methods and slope stability calculations. In the section on shoring pits, shoring technology, shoring methods and static calculations for their assessment are described. In the last part, the work deals with the construction pit below the groundwater level, where bottom stabilization and drainage systems are addressed.
