Obstacles and Solutions to Solving the Global Hunger Issue in the World

The urgency of the global hunger and poverty issues has led to establishment of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals with the deadline at the end of 2015. The presented bachelor thesis focuses on the first and the most difficult goal which is to reduce extreme poverty and hunger by half compared to 1990. Obstacles to achieving the goal emerge, slow down the progress and lower the effect of the invested money and effort. The aim of the thesis is to define and evaluate the obstacles and their negative effect on developing countries and implementation of otherwise efficient solutions, which are afterwards described. The thesis supports, with an example of three successful countries from different parts of the world, the fact that by using adequate methods it is possible to achieve the goal.
The position of the EU in the world economy: comparison with USA and Japan

The main purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to evaluate the current status of the European Union as one of the most influential players in the global economy. The analysis uses comparison with the other two major world powers -- USA and Japan. The first part is focused on the performance of the economies in terms of absolute production (GDP) and economic growth. The chapter then identifies the impact of growth on employment, price stability and public finances and defines the major economic and social problems. The second chapter assesses the EU's external relations based on the trade performance and capital flows. It also analyzes the participation in the international transfer of science and technology and labour migration. The aim of the last chapter is to assess the current position of the EU in the world by comparison with the world indicators. Considering this comparison, the chapter defines the main EU problems as particularly decreasing competitiveness in the context of crisis and rapid onset of developing countries. In this chapter are then reported and presented ways how to overcome these problems.
Fundamental problems of the UK´s economy during time period from 2008 to 2012 and effort for their solution.

Bachelor thesis deals with development of the UK's economy during the time period of 2008-2012, economic problems which afflict it nowadays and possibility of their solution. The main emphasis is put on the analysis of basic macroeconomic indicators. The first chapter briefly characterizes the economy of the UK from nineties to 2007. The next part is concerned with the period between years 2008 and 2012, where using particular macroeconomic indicator analysis defines the fundamental problems of the UK's economy and suggestions of their possible solution. The last chapter compares the economy of the UK with the economies of other countries within the EU and outlines its future development as well.
The development and position of Denmark in EU

European integration is very specific process especially in terms of its complexity. Not all the European Union participating countries are interested in full integration. Such an approach is characteristic of the Kingdom of Denmark (hereinafter referred to as "Denmark"). The aim of this thesis is therefore to introduce and clarify the position of Denmark in light of its specific relation with European Union. The main focus area will be to talk about opt-outs and how they influence level of integration and Denmark's decision-making options within EU. I will also look at what would abolition of opt-outs bring. The first part outlines the characteristics of Denmark. The second chapter is presenting the history of Denmark in the European integration process. The third part refers to the negotiated exceptions and analyzes their impact, whether positive or negative. Finally, the last part of the thesis focuses on the results of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union
Marketing in social networks

This thesis is divided into three content sections. The first part is devoted to theoretical and general information about social networks - their origin, development and current form. The second theoretical part focuses on a specific example of social networks - Facebook and its potential marketing use. The last third part is the practical part which illustrates the information from the theory by real campaigns in practice.
Swedish welfare state

Bachelor thesis occupies with Swedish welfare state, which is a synonym of a success in implementation of generous welfare state into a market economy. It deals with two major questions: Does the Swedish model match with any of the models described in the theory? And is such model applicable in the Czech Republic? Three main chapters one-by-one dedicate to the theory of welfare state, European welfare states and finally to the Swedish welfare state. This one is, via analysis performed in the first and the second chapter, being compared with the theory, which does not correspond completely, and European practice represented by Great Britain, Germany and the Czech Republic. It is the comparison with the Czech Republic which helps define basic problems and difficulties of the applicability of the Swedish model in the Czech environment.

The impact of offshoring on global economy

The bachelor's thesis deals with overall impacts of relocation of business activities from domestic to host economy. The first, theoretical part is focused on defining the term offshoring, its forms, origin and development in past 50 years. Companies motives for entry into foreign markets are mentioned at the end of the first part. The practical part of thesis analyzes the impact of offshoring on selected areas in selected economies. The final section aims to assess the impacts of offshoring on the global economy and to determine the expected development in the future.
Transfer pricing documentation

This thesis deals with the issue of transfer pricing, current legislation and methods with emphasis on the creation of transfer pricing documentation. The importance of documentation is mainly to show that prices in transactions between related parties do not differ from the prices agreed between independent parties. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The first chapter of this part deals with the definition of the concept of transfer pricing. The second chapter describes the current legislation of transfer pricing, both from the perspective of international regulation, but also in terms of the requirements in the Czech Republic. The following chapters are dedicated to the definition of arm's length principle and methods that can be used in the creation of transfer pricing. The following describes the meaning and way of creating transfer pricing documentation. The practical part deals with creating transfer pricing documentation with application to a particular company in order to verify compliance with the arm's length principle.
