Language and Style of Communication on Social Network

The diploma thesis focuses on discussing community on social media, concretely www.facebook.com. The aim of the thesis is to make a stylistic analysis of collected material to prove the use of spoken language in spontaneous written texts and point out the vanishing border between written and spoken language. This vanishing difference between spoken and written language relates to evaluation whether it is possible to place these texts to matter-of-fact functional style for which the spoken language is characteristic. The thesis is divided into two parts ? theoretical and pratical. The author shows her knowledge of literature, especially of the gramatical and stylistical publications and two linguistical journals Slovo a slovesnost and Naše řeč.

An Analysis of Common Spoken Language in Selected West Bohemian Localities

The subject of bachelor thesis is an analysis of common spoken language in communities of southwest dialectal subgroup. The author aims to the west bohemian circuit and accomplishes detailed language analysis of chosen texts (transcribed recordings of old generation) and evaluates spoken, or vernacular, phenomena. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to consider amount of preservation of dialects and the influence of spoken language.
