The effect of nutrition on bone metabolism
Kubíková, Klára ; Kutílek, Štěpán (referee)
The effect of nutrition on bone metabolism The bone has a function for support and protection, and is also a place for hematopoiesis and for mineral homeostasis. The subject of interest of this thesis is to evaluate the effect of chosen proteins, amino acids, iron and the conditions such as long-term under-nutrition, short-term starving and repeated blood withdrawals on the bone parameters - the length and the diameter of the bone, the width of corticalis, and the mechanical properties - resistance to bending, tension and torsion. There were evaluated changes in the concentration of bones markers, changes in the bone mineral density and changes in lean mass and adipose mass in healthy adult males of the Wistar rats . During my doctorate studies I was studying the effect of these components on the bones. In the 1st experiment the rats were fed by the chosen proteins and amino acids: glutamine (GLN), branched-chain amino acids- valine, leucine and izoleucine (BCAA), and caseine (KAS) ad libitum. Further we monitored the effect of one-week realimantation by standard laboratory diet (SLD) after long-term supplementation by the diet enriched by the above mentioned proteins and amino acids. The group fed by SLD ad libitum was the control group. In the 2nd experiment the effect of paired-feeding of the...

Kubíková, Klára ; Chylíková, Hana (advisor) ; Pešková, Jitka (referee)
Local food is a current topic within the Czech food market. The Thesis is focused on the food quality mark "Regionalni potravina" as an instrument for local production promotion. Aim of the thesis is to verify whether labeling local food with the quality mark "Regionalni potravina" contributes to the local food production. An analysis has been performed, that focuses on The Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic's project "Regionalni potravina" in The Usti Region. The analysis contributes to the current local food issue from the perspective of consumers and producers. A questionnaire survey among The Usti Region's consumers and local food producers, that were awarded the quality mark, has been performed. Half of the respondents claim to consume local food, they appreciate its quality and clear origin. The food quality mark "Regionalni potravina" has appealed to the consumers, thus they are motivated to buy local products. That leads to promotion of local food production. The survey was able to prove that the food quality mark "Regionalni potravina" truly leads to promotion of local food production. Considering these conclusions and consumers' attitude towards local food, it would be worth considering to promote a wider range of local food producers who meet the quality and local origin requirements.

Supply Chain Management
KUBÍKOVÁ, Klára
Logistics is a discipline that deals with material flow and related information and financial flow, namely from a raw materials supplier via a producer and other intermediators to an end user. And all this with the goal to maximally satisfy customer needs for reasonable costs within the whole chain. Supply chain management is one of the strategies of the modern management that deals with the optimization of all activities and systems in order to secure the whole corporate chain. The company Masna Příbram uses an integrated information system that provides each segment of the supply chain with information on a daily basis. As the chain is managed by one owner, it is possible to plan and realize the production in accordance with the real demand of the segments along the chain flow. The result is that no goods are stored and if they are then only in minimum quantity.
