Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Botany and Ecology Candidate Mgr. Andrea Krejčí, née Kulhánková Supervisor Ing. Lucie Cahlíková, Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis Alkaloids from selected species of Amaryllidaceae family, their toxicity and biological activity (in vitro study) I. Zephyranthes robusta and Chlidanthus fragrans bulbs were chosen for phytochemical study as biologically active Amaryllidaceae alkaloids source, based on bio-guided study using spectrophotometric Ellman's method and GC-MS analysis of alkaloid extracts. Bulbs were extracted with ethanol and the summary extract was fractionated by column chromatography with the use of Al2O3 as a stationary phase and gradient elution chloroform - ethanol. Column chromatography, preparative TLC and crystallisation led to isolation of pure compounds the chemical structure of which was elucidated by MS and D1- and D2-NMR analyses. From fresh bulbs of Chlidanthus fragrans 11 alkaloids were isolated of which deoxypretazzetine, belladine, 3-epimakronine, ismine, undulatine, buphanisine and ambelline were reported for the first time from the genus Chlidanthus. Compounds were evaluated for their human AChE, BuChE and POP inhibitory activity. From Zephyranthes robusta bulbs 14 alkaloids of...
Education and therapy for seniors in Prague
Krejčí, Andrea ; Dvořáčková, Hana (advisor) ; Nováková, Ivana (referee)
My Bachelor Thesis deals with the education and therapy of seniors in Prague. I dedicate the first chapter to the basic terms (such as senior, old age, education, therapy etc.). The second chapter focuses on the third age, or early old age, when old people are still independent. The third chapter is about seniors of fourth age, which is the period of real old age. The fourth chapter treats the University of the Third Age. Here I deal mainly with positive influences and barriers which seniors might encounter, when they decide to study. In the fifth chapter I describe selected therapies (Reminiscence Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, memory training…). In the practical part of my thesis I write about chosen institutions, that is The University of Lifelong Education and the old people's home in 7, Sámova, Prague. I interviewed a senior who goes to the University of the Third Age. The interview is focused on his motivation to study and on the benefits he got from his studies. Further, I have carried out a therapy focused on reminiscence and memory training in the chosen old people's home. I will describe the course of the therapy, the following reflection and I will also describe the premises where the therapy is carried out. Key words: senior, third and fourth age, education, the University of...

Pragmatic and Semantic Features of English and Czech Public Signs/Pragmatické a sémantické aspekty anglických a českých veřejných nápisů
KREJČÍ, Andrea
This thesis deals with pragmatic and semantic features of English and Czech public signs. In the theoretical part, there are some basic facts about language, its functions, communication, and public signs presented. Moreover, the types of meaning within semantics and pragmatics are introduced. There is also a special focus on the Speech Act Theory, as introduced by J. L. Austin and later developed by J. R. Searle, and the maxims of the Cooperative and Politeness Principles, as proposed by H. P. Grice and G. Leech. The Practical part is based on an analysis of English public notices, which are classified on the basis of Searle's Speech Act Theory and analysed from the viewpoint of the observance or non-observance of the Cooperative and Politeness Principles. Furthermore, each notice is compared with its Czech equivalent.
Comlex rehabilitative care for pre-school children passing curative stays
KREJČÍ, Andrea
Complex rehabilitative care for pre-school children undergoing c urative stays is the care of which the main task is to promote the health of a child as a whole or, if impaired, to bring it back to normal. A child sanatorium is a health care facility providing long-term preventive care for child patients through its complex therapeutic and rehabilitative methods during the child{\crq}s entire curative stay. It strives for reaching the optimum health condition of a child and for the elimination of possible fallouts. Curative stays are recommended by pediatricians. Generally, curative stays are designed for children between 3 and 15 years of age. They are covered by all health insurance companies. The aim of the thesis was to find out the current possibilities of the use of curative stay offers in the Czech Republic and how the offer of such stays is used, specifically in the mountainous climatic conditions. Also, the work aimed at the factors leading to the fact that some children use the curative stays repeatedly. In order to gather the necessary data to define the aim of the thesis, the method of questionnaire was used and the technique of written questionnaire was used to collect the data. The research used parents and other relatives of the pre-school children who at least once participated in the curative stay together with their child or children. The research was conducted at the Child Sanatorium of Javorník in Šumava during the months of January and February 2007. The hypothesis based on the presumption that the opportunity to use the offer of curative stays for pre-school children is influenced mostly by socio-economic factors was not confirmed. It has been detected that the physicians play an important role in this field. The second hypothesis concerning the repetitive use of the curative stays offer as not being directly linked to the curative effect of the previous stays was also not confirmed because the reasons leading the guardian escort to the decision to send the child or children for a repetitive curative stay are directly linked to the fact that the recently undergone stay has helped the health condition of their child or children.
