Diet of proffesional drivers from the perspective of nutrition therapist
KARÁSEK, Jiří
The diet of professional drivers is very different from the general population. This difference is due to a number of factors. Extraordinary working hours, irregular sleep, physical inactivity and stress. Poor facilities for the actual preparation and storage of food and poorer availability of factory catering. Professional drivers therefore often suffer from a range of health complications including obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and metabolic syndrome. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to investigate the diet of professional drivers in the Czech Republic. To map their diet in terms of caloric intake, macronutrient intake and sugars. And secondly, to find out whether the offer in the catering facilities they use during working hours corresponds to their demand. Quantitative research was chosen to meet the objectives. Anthropometric data such as height, weight, BMI and waist circumference were collected and evaluated. A questionnaire focusing on lifestyle and eating habits and an evaluation of the last 24 hours' diet. Data collection was conducted at motorway rest areas in the Central Bohemia region. The research population consisted of 30 professional truck drivers in the age range of 29- 60 years. The bachelor thesis revealed significantly higher values of BMI and waist circumference compared to the average values of the population in the Czech Republic. The questionnaire survey revealed the diet and lifestyle of the professional drivers on the road. More than half of the respondents were smokers, two thirds drink alcohol and most of them do not engage in any physical activity. Analysis of the menus showed that their calorie intake was on average 14% higher than their daily energy needs and their consumption of sugars was noticeably higher than the recommendations. The bachelor thesis provides a comprehensive view of the diet and lifestyle of professional drivers. It highlights the impact of improper diet and the incidence of associated complications. The bachelor thesis is intended to raise awareness in society of this issue and may be useful to health care personnel who work with patients in the driving profession.
Prevention of ischemic involvement of the heart in acute coronar disease in prehospital care
Strnadel, Matěj ; Karásek, Jiří (advisor)
The acute coronar desease takes an important place as a cause of death in the world. The prehospital care, I wanted to describe here, is the first part of prevention of the ischemic involvement of heart. As mentioned, the fundamental part is a general idea about the symptoms given by the desease, which allows to start the terapeutic process by picking up the phone in order to call for a help. A duty of a doctor of the first contact is to recognize, if we are facing the acute coronar desease and to begin the treatment. The objektive is to establish the blood flow again as quickly and safety as possible. Acetylsalicyl acid and heparin is given to the patient immediately. A combination of other antitrombotic druggs is being tasted nowdays. The PCI is an obtion for the patiens with ST elevation and the patiens with ST depression in high risk. A trombolisis, as far as indicated, is used only for patiens with elevation of interval ST. The problematic of faciliting trombolisis is a question of future, because a satisfactory evidence does not exist yet.
The Prevention of the organ damage after out of hospital cardiac arrest
Karásek, Jiří ; Widimský, Petr (advisor) ; Vojáček, Jan (referee) ; Moťovská, Zuzana (referee) ; Bonaventura, Jiří (referee)
The publication summarises in four original papers the authors' results in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). The first paper presents a prospective observational study comparing the effect of mechanical chest compression (LUCAS) and manual chest compression (non-LUCAS) on the 30-day and 180-day survival rate of the patients affected by OHCA. The study included 278 patients (144 underwent mechanical chest compression - LUCAS, and 134 manual chest compression - non-LUCAS). There were no significant differences in restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC): (25% in LUCAS vs 30.6% in non-LUCAS, p = 0,35). However, we observed significantly more conversions to shock rhythm in the LUCAS group (20.7% vs 10.10%, p = 0,04). The 30-day survival rate was significantly worse in the LUCAS group (5.07% vs 16.31% in non-LUCAS, p = 0,044). In the case of 180-day survival, no significant differences were detected (9.42% in LUCAS vs 5.45% in non-LUCAS, p = 0,25). The second study examined mechanical chest compression-related injuries as a possible explanation for the mechanical compression failure in survival rates. This retrospective observational study relied on 630 patients who died during CPR that involved mechanical or manual chest compressions. The data were drawn from autopsy reports of all patients....
Contribution of the Cohesion Policy of the European Union to the Climate Change Mitigation
Nekvasil, Michal ; Moldan, Bedřich (advisor) ; Hák, Tomáš (referee) ; Karásek, Jiří (referee)
The main purpose of this thesis was to evaluate the extent to which the Cohesion Policy of the European Union contributes to its climate change mitigation effort. While climate change mitigation and the EU Cohesion Policy have both been theoretically thoroughly studied, it has not been the case of their mutual relation. The objective of this paper is to fill, at least partly, this gap. A specific feature of this research is an analysis of the contribution of the Cohesion Policy to climate change mitigation over a period of 20 years, including a comparison of the three last programming periods (2000-2006, 2007-2013 and 2014-2020). Moreover, the contribution of the Cohesion Policy to climate change mitigation in the EU-28 is compared to the contribution in the Czech Republic. The results of this research suggest that while the beginning of the new millennium saw the Cohesion Policy neglecting the issue of climate change mitigation, the current programming period (2014-2020) placed it among its key priorities. This conclusion is supported by a comprehensive set of data on five selected indicators. Furthermore, this paper displays its results against the perspective of the overall climate change mitigation objectives of the European Union.

Řivnáč, František ; Karásek, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of his thesis "Acute intoxication addictive substances in terms of treatment and prevention, "I chose because of my long-time interest in emergency medicine, the phenomenon of chemical substances on the human body and psychological, and topical drug problems both in terms of psychological, and medical. I believe that this work may also play a preventive role, unless it gets to the target group of young people who yearn for the experiment. Dissemination in electronic form, which is also the work is produced and submissions, has great potential intervention target reader. I'll be glad when In my work the reader will find interesting and useful information.

Nursing care of the patient with Leftsided Heart Failure
Floriánová, Kateřina ; Holubová, Jana (advisor) ; Karásek, Jiří (referee)
Kardiovaskulární onemocnění představují závažný zdravotní a ekonomický problém moderní civilizace.
