Using smart watches and their functions to measure health parameters

Title: Utilization and preferences of smartwatches and their features for measuring health parameters in the adult population Objectives: The aim of this master's thesis is to analyze the utilization and preferences of smartwatches in the adult population and to examine their potential for measuring health parameters through a questionnaire survey. Methods: The research was conducted through a questionnaire survey. A questionnaire of our own design was utilized. The research section also included an analysis of parameters and functions of smartwatches. Results: The average age of the respondents who filled out the questionnaire for this diploma thesis was 31.2 years. 63 out of 103 probands use smartwatches to monitor their health status, with the most frequently measured parameter being heart rate. All 63 respondents follow here. The most used function associated with physical activity is tracking the number of steps. 91 respondents are interested in this data. Factors such as quality, accuracy, and design play a key role when choosing a smartwatch. According to the respondents, the most used smartwatches are from Apple and Garmin. Title: Comparison of the health effects of shirshasana in popular science literature and in scientific studies Objectives: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to conduct a detailed analysis and compare the cited contraindications and effects of shirshasana in popular science literature and scientific studies. Methods: The bachelor's thesis utilizes the method of review and comparative analysis in available scientific studies and popular science literature. The selection of scientific articles was carried out from the PubMed database and the web search engine Google Scholar. Results: Popular science literature often presents numerous positive effects of shirshasana on the human body as a whole and on specific organ systems. However, most of these effects lack explanations or scientific evidence. Headstand contraindications are addressed in most popular science books, primarily through simple listing. The number of contraindications, like the effects of shirshasana, significantly varies among different authors. Scientific studies predominantly focus on the general effects of yoga, leaving the effects of shirshasana largely unexplained. Title: Evaluation of teaching Health and Physical Education at primary and secondary schools: Analysis of existing research Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to analyse and evaluate contemporary state of teaching Health and Physical Education at schools in the Czech Republic with using existing research studies. Methods: In this theses methods of comparative analysiswere used in order to evaluate existing bachelor and diploma theses focused on health and physical education. The data were drawn from Google Scholar database, the digital database of Charles University, theses.cz and from the ResearchGate. Furthermore, data from questionaires carried out among teachers in 2005 were included. Results: The results say, that Health and Physical education is not taught at 194 schools from the whole of 226 researched schools. The most common health issue mentioned by 104 schools being the weakenning of moving apparatus. The main obstacles for inclusion of PE into school curriculum mentioned insufficiant finances and lack of professional teaching staff. Such issues are mentioned by 64 schools. Title: Dysmenorrhea and conservative approach to affect painful menstruation - questionnaire survey Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to use a questionnaire survey to obtain information on how often painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea) occurs in women. Following this, an analysis of this data will be carried out in order to assess the possibilities of influencing and preventing painful menstruation using conservative methods, especially exercise. Methods: For the theoretical part of the thesis, a literature review was carried out. research from various sources, including the libraries of the Faculty of Physical of Charles University and the 3rd Faculty of Medicine Charles University, English-language articles, studies and university theses from databases Web of Science, Pubmed, and Theses.cz. The practical part consists of questionnaires survey and subsequent data analysis together with the results. Results: The results of my research indicate that out of a total of 576 respondents aged 15 to 30 years, up to 78 % of women suffer from painful menstruation, which indicates a high prevalence of this problem in this population. Title: Possibilities of using elements from the DNS program for children with multiple disabilities Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of applying exercises from the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization concept using the DNS FIT KID exercise program in children with multiple disabilities. Methods: The following measures were used for data collection: selected tests from the MOBAK 3-4 battery for screening motor skills, Mathias test, Thomayer test, postural stability assessment (standing on one leg and walking on the line) and DNS FIT KID tests. The DNS FIT KID exercise program was implemented and applied in psychomotor games classes. Results: When comparing the input and output results, the boys showed an improvement in the measured differences. Thus, the applied exercise program DNS FIT KID was chosen in an appropriate form for pupils with multiple disabilities, which indicates a positive effect of its use in the group of children studied. Title: The influence of a movement intervention based on developmental kinesiology principles on female athletes in the 18+ category of sports aerobics. Objective: Determining the effectiveness of a 10week movement intervention based on core stabilization for correcting faulty posture and alleviating back pain in four elite sport aerobics competitors in the age category of 18 and above. Methods: Evaluation of body posture aspects in a static standing position, examination of trunk stabilization, Young Spine Questionnaire survey, and a 10week movement intervention utilizing exercises to strengthen trunk stabilization based on the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization concept enriched with a mobilizing exercise for the Sacroiliac joint. Qualitative research is chosen as the research strategy. Results: The 10week movement program based on strengthening trunk stabilization according to the DNS concept with an element of releasing the SI joint had a positive impact on reducing the frequency of back pain in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions of the spine by one degree in 3 out of 4 girls. Title: The effect of compensatory exercises on typical muscle imbalances in baseball players aged 12 and 13 years Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to verify the effectiveness of the developed compensatory set in baseball players aged 12 and 13 years, in the U13 age category. To prove the effect of compensatory exercises on typical muscle imbalances in boys aged 12 and 13 years. METHODS: In a quasi-experiment, the effect of compensatory exercises in baseball players aged 12 and 13 years was investigated using physiotherapy examinations. The research sample consisted of 33 boys. The research sample was divided into two groups from different baseball clubs. The experimental group of 16 boys completed the compensatory exercises. The control group of 17 boys did not complete the compensatory exercises. The intervention lasted a total of 3 months, 3 times. The compensatory exercise of 15 minutes was applied in the final phase of the training unit. The method of data collection was kinesiological analysis before the project started. A matching examination was performed after 3 months for both groups mentioned above. Visual motor coordination training for preschool children

Title: Visual motor coordination training for preschool children Objectives: To create and implement 3-month program Owl and subsequently evaluate its impact on school maturity, visual attention and final motor skills in preschool children. Methods: Mixed research in the form of a quasi-experiment was realized on a group of 26 children aged 5-7 years from kindergarten in Prague, divided into an intervention (n=13) and comparative (np=13) group. Intervention in the intervention group consisted of participation in 10-20 minutes sessions once a week, focused on visuomotor coordination: eye gymnastics followed by rhymes, elements from the Feldenkrais method, games and exercises focused on attention and eye-hand coordination. These exercises were then repeated 2-3 times a week with the teachers. Data collection was done in the form of an initial anamnestic questionnaire and a pre/post-test containing: MABC-2 part of manual dexterity, School maturity orientation test and Visual attention test. Title: The effect of social contact loss due to COVID 19 pandemic restrictions on physical activity level of the university students. Objectives: The main aim of this work was to examine the evolution of physical activity and contact loss of the university students in Czech republic during the pandemic COVID -19. Methods: Quantitative type of research using the reach technique of the questionnaire, which was made by research team of experts in psychology and sociology from several universities in Czech Republic, under the auspices of the Czech konference of rectors and the council of the universities. The research group consisted 4 426 respondents - active students of czech universities. Results: The physical activity and the social contact have significant influence on quality of life of each person. COVID - 19 pandemic has affected them greatly. Respondents show, that during the pandemic there was a decrease in the regularity of physical activity. The most significat diferences were recorded during the winter semestre 2020/21, when the second wave of the pandemic was taking place. Comparison of selected regeneration techniques affecting the range of motion of the hip joint at ice hockey players

Title: Comparison of selected regenerative techniques affecting hip joint range of motion in ice hockey players. Objectives: The aim of this study is to identify the most effective regenerative technique among those preselected for range of motion in the hip joint. At the same time, to compare each regeneration technique with each other and to determine the quality of regeneration in selected ice hockey players. Methods: In our work we used the method of analysis and comparison. The method of analysis is used to clarify statistically significant measurement data and the method of comparison is used to compare the individual regeneration techniques. In our work we used sports massage, rolling and massage gun. The Sit and Reach Test (SRT), Passive Straight Leg Raise (PSLR), Maximal Hip Flexion Active Knee Extension (MHFAKE) and Passive Knee Extension Test (PKET) were used to measure range of motion. Additional information on the quality of regeneration of the probands playing ice hockey is provided by a non-standardized questionnaire that concludes this research. Results: We found a significant increase in hip range of motion with the massage gun (p=0.004982). This increased range of motion persisted for three days.
