Solution of stereometic problems

This diploma thesis follows up the bachelor thesis named Stereometric tasks, where the author solved a collection of problems using parallel projection. The main method in this diploma thesis is the Monge projection. The first part of the thesis includes a standard tasks. Thenafter the author continues with metric tasks and tasks on mutual positions of solids which are solved by Monge projection. The second part of the thesis is a something like a didactic view on stereometry at elementary schools. It focuses on spacial tasks in entrance examinations, on the ability of pupils to solve them and on didactic aids and means that help to develop the spatial imagination of pupils.

Problems in stereometry

This bachelor thesis named Stereometric Tasks deals with construction of selected spatial tasks with GeoGebra interactive software, where I often use its 3D environment. Solution of each task comprises verbal or symbolic description of the construction which is always accompanied by graphical representation created using the parallel projection. Before the tasks, there is a theoretic summary which acquaints the reader with basic features of stereometry. At the end of the thesis I focus on the problem of spatial tasks solved by pupils at elementary schools.
