Information sources of parliamentary election voters in 2021
Kovaliková, Anežka ; Jirků, Jan (advisor) ; Just, Petr (referee)
This thesis concentrates on the relationship between voting preferences and media consumption. Its first hypothesis is based on the assumption that media affect voting preferences and thus voters of different political subjects employ different media consumption behavior. The second hypothesis states that the voters of anti-system parties are more likely to consume disinformation media. In its theoretical part, the text explains the concepts of disinformation, agenda-setting, disinformation media, filter bubble, confirmation bias and anti-system party. The research is carried out via a survey distributed through Facebook social groups and focuses on eight political subjects present in the parliament before or after the Czech parliamentary elections in October 2021. Second half of the thesis focuses on the results of the survey and their discussion. It is divided into chapters, each presenting the results for individual political subjects. Last of the chapters combines all the data and puts them into perspective.
Populism as a discursive strategy: an analysis of the communication of selected populist actors in the Czech political arena
Křovák, Jan ; Charvát, Jakub (advisor) ; Just, Petr (referee)
This paper analyses the concept of populism as a discursive strategy. Therefore, it uses the view of populist discourse as discussed by Ernesto Laclau and other authors in their works. The author analyses the communication practices of four selected Czech political actors on social networks (Facebook and Twitter) in the period before the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in October 2021. For the analysis, the author chose representatives who are commonly labelled as populists, i.e. former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, far-right populists, i.e. Tomio Okamura, and then two politicians representing mainstream parties - Markéta Pekarová Adamová from TOP 09 and Vít Rakušan from STAN. In the theoretical part, the author describes in depth the phenomenon of populism on the basis of expert literature, and in a comprehensive way points out the relationship between populism, social networks, media and political communication. In the practical part, the author conducted a so-called critical discursive analysis of posts of the politicians on the above-mentioned social media and then compared their dominant communication practices. The author then places the data and results of the research in context of the populist narrative described in the theoretical part of the thesis.

Vejskrabová, Markéta ; Just, Petr (advisor) ; Skovajsa, Marek (referee)

This thesis is outlined thus to first answer the questions where is lobbing held, how is it proceed and who are the groups which are lobbing. Last mentioned chapter is comparison of the different lobbing of non-profit and profit organizations, which are the main participation groups on decision making through their representative - the lobbyist, who presents interests of the group and often also the possible impacts of this particular law on their fields of interests to politician. The Theory of Coalitions in the Context of Elections to the Regional Board of Representatives in 2000 and 2004
Slámová, Klára ; Just, Petr (advisor) ; Jüptner, Petr (referee)
The master thesis "The theory o f coalitions in the context o f elections to the regional board o f representatives in 2000 and 2004 " deals with formation of executive bodies at the regional level. The theory of coalitions, concerned exclusively with coalitions at the national level, is applied herein to a lower political level. This is contributed by the fact that in the Czech Republic the regional (as well as municipal) level operates on the same basis as the national level. The legislative body - the board of representatives - disposes of the direct mandate; from it the executive - the council - draws its own mandate. Thus, the effort to transpose the theory of coalitions to a specific environment of regional politics is hereby facilitated. This thesis commences with a theoretical introduction in which the theory of coalitions is presented, focused on the typology of coalition governments. The work follows with an analysis of the institutional aspect of regional politics. The regions as the new regional authorities of self-government needed to establish not only their structure of organization and certain powers, but also the electoral system through which the main body of the region would be filled. Following the theoretical introduction, emphasis is put on the examination of each region (within two...
Comparative analysis of the development of intelligence services in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since 1989
Ryza, Tomáš ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Just, Petr (referee)
Univerzita Karlova v Praze Fakulta sociálních věd Institut politologických studií Projekt k bakalářské práci Vedoucí práce: JUDr. PhDr.
