This thesis discusses the approaches of health workers to restraining procedures in clients with Alzheimer disease. It observes how the medics and the health workers solve aggression, pronounced restlessness and behaviour disorders of clients with dementia. The focus of this thesis is on investigating of individual restraining procedures and the opinions about their use in clients with Alzheimer disease, when experiencing aggression, anxiety and behaviour disorders. The participants involved were the medics, the nurses and the social workers of four institutions of social care for elderly and two departments of geriatrics in Czech Republic.

The active style of life for seniors

This Bachelor degrese thesis dissertates on a style of life of an elderly generation of population. The theoretical part briefly dealts with physical processes and mental changes typical for seniors period of life. It detailed the specifications of a physical traning, nourishment and an influence of a human psyche to health. The empirical part concentrates on an exercising, scholarship, awareness of a computer technology and a general view of a contemporary life of seniors. The surveyed sample of people is formed of a part of random- questioned seniors older than sixty years, living in eastern Bohemia.

Quality of the contemporary care of the old patients. The probability of disease increases with the old age. It can happen, that it dones to the situation, when the man won't be able to lead full - value life. Thereby becomes quality and accessible health and social care more important. The care about old man belongs to the most physically and bodily demanding. Older sick patients can have considerable cognitive, sense, move or communication handicap. They are not able to tell their needs, they don't react appropriate on the questions and challenges, they are not self sufficient. Thus becomes the work of the health workers more difficult.. It is not possible to conduct quality health care without understanding of the problems of ageing and old age, without empathy and dignity to the old people.

Need of seniors

The aim of this bachelor work is to find out the difference in the satisfaction of needs amongst in-house senior patients and external, or living at home seniors. The theory part explains the term of needs, it divides them into lower and higher needs. It analyses physical indications of old age and the relationship between medical and social old age. It mentions hospitalism and syndrome of being immobilised. The practical part presents quantitavie research using questionnaires methods. The analysed sample was made up of seniors in "Oddělení následné péče" in Frýdlant and seniors living in "Domov U Spasitele" also in Frýdlant. All findings are present using graphs and charts. The summary and recommendation for nursing practis can be found in the discussion part.

Kvalita pečovatelských služeb na Rakovnicku

The thesis "Quality of home help services in Rakovnicko" deals with the quality of home help services in the region of former administrative district Rakovník in the Central Bohemia Region of the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretic and empiric. The theoretic part deals with the context of home help services. The changes in old age which develops in seniority are discussed. The attention is paid to social services which above all the seniors draw. In this part the definition, purpose, characteristics and division of social services are explained. Further the thesis deals with founders, providers and clients of social services. The area of home help services is described in more details from the historic and present point of view. The concept of home help services in use practise is integral part of it. The conclusion of theoretic part introduces the problems of quality in social services and quality in general. The introduction of the empiric part deals with the characteristics of home help services in Rakovnicko, where the research was carried out.
