Sejkorová, Ilona ; Rathouská, Jana (advisor) ; Josková, Věra (referee)
Ilona Sejkorová Cervical cancer vaccination - medical benefit or commercial press? Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Medical laboratory technician The emergence of precancerous lesions and cervical cancers may contribute to a number of factors. The most important of these factor is the infection risk types of human papillomavirus. Vaccination against cervical cancer is still a current topic. It is the first vaccine against cancer. Objectives: Theoretical overview on the issue of cervical cancer vaccine registered in the Czech Republic and the possible risks of the vaccination. The aim of questionnaire study is to find out doctors and patiens opinion about the cervical cancer vaccination. Questionnaires investigate whether they find the vaccination medically beneficial or commercial. Methods: The questionnaire survey in the Czech Republic. The first questionnaire intended for the patient and a second questionnaire intended for physicians in the field of gynecology and practical medicine. Results: In the general public is a relatively wide range of views on this issue. From the perspective of physicians, the vaccine appears to be contrary very promising and beneficial for medicine. Positive vaccine efficacy also point in terms of protection against other diseases,...
The clinical application of bioimpedance spectroscopy in polytrauma patients and in pregnant women
Josková, Věra ; Hronek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Kacerovský, Marian (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Candidate: Mgr. Věra Josková Supervisor: doc. PharmDr. Miloslav Hronek, Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis: The clinical application of bioimpedance spectroscopy in polytrauma patients and in pregnant women Introduction and Objectives: Bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) is a non-invasive method determining the amount of body fluids and their distribution into the extracellular (ECW) and intracellular (ICW) space, based on the tissue resistance. It has already been applied in many clinical trials in healthy volunteers and in different groups of patients to assess body composition. Furthermore, it seems to be useful in nutritional counseling. However, in critically ill patients hospitalized in intensive care unit (ICU) or in pregnant women, this method has not been used in routine clinical practice as yet. Both of these groups are characterized by the state of increased body fluids. For this reason, BIS could be applied in respective groups of patients. Hence, the main aims of this doctoral thesis were: 1) to describe in detail the principle and the previous use of BIS; 2) to use the BIS to determine the degree of hyperhydratation of patients with polytrauma (PP), and to evaluate the results with the...
Preparation of cationactive tenzides with hydroxymethyl moiety.
Josková, Věra ; Doležal, Martin (advisor) ; Zimčík, Petr (referee)
Charles Univerzity in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department: Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Student: Věra Josková Supervisor specialist: PharmDr. Jan Marek, Ph.D. Supervisor: prof. PhamrDr. Martin Doležal, Ph.D. Title of Thesis: Preparation of cationactive tenzides with hydroxymethyl moiety This diploma thesis will refer about free homological series of cationic tenzides bearing quarter nitrogen in their molecule specifically 4-hydroxymethyl-1- alkylpyridinium-bromide, 3-hydroxymethyl-1-1alkylpyridinium-bromide a 2-hydroxy- methyl-1-alkylpyridinium-bromide derivatives. Each of this series contained five homologues with alkyl linker length between 10 and 18 with even number of carbon atoms. Above mentioned compounds were characterised by melting point, NMR spectra and elemental analysis. Next topic of my work was evaluation of these compounds. Critical micelar concentrations were measured employing conductimetric method. Compounds were further tested against several fungal and bacterial phylum. Structure- activity relationship studies of influence of substitututed position and length of alkyl linker on previously mentioned properties were carried out.
Histological methods used in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer.
Kowaliková, Šárka ; Hronek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Josková, Věra (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on tumor diseases of the colon, especially on the processing of biopsy material obtained by sampling during colonoscopy and colectomy. The theoretical part of this thesis describes general anatomy of the colon and assumptions of tumor formation in this location. It deals mainly with the risk factors which may be unaffectable, e.g. heredity and age, but also affectable, such as insufficient physical activity, excessive consumption of red meat, low fiber intake, smoking, alcohol consumption, overweight etc. The thesis also describes the possibility of prevention, which is closely related to the risk factors. Finally, some ways of taking biopsy samples and subsequent laboratory processing are listed. The practical part presents the methods used for tissue processing and staining histological slides with a focus on the advantages of faster tissue processing by continuous tissue processor. It also deals with immunohistochemical examination, which is an integral part of histopathological diagnostic procedure. The aim of the thesis was to describe how certain methods of histological processing can accelerate and especially clarify the diagnosis and the associated follow-up treatment. Keywords: colon , colorectal cancer, pathology , cancer , colonoscopy, colectomy,...
