The topic of this bachelor thesis is to design a computer network for multimedial home on the basis of the investor’s requirements. The bachelor thesis is divided into three parts. The first part provides with various possibilities of the computer network design in theory. The second part summarizes an analysis of the current network in its inconvenient state. The last part presents the realization of the particular design itself. The bachelor thesis also contains the project costing and the project drawing documentary materials.

Optical Network Design in Revúca

Bachelor thesis is focused on the optical network design with a variant termination of the optical fiber in the home of end users. The technology is currently the most advanced bandwidth sufficient for reliable transmission of any kind of content. The investor is the local internet provider FERDINANDY, s.r.o. in Revúca. The optical network design is set for this city. This innovation will provide high speed connection and offers additional service options such as IPTV or VoIP for citizens of Revúca. The bachelor thesis includes a proposal route of the optical fibers, choice of active and passive equipment and economic assessment of the payback period of large investments.

Computer Network Design for Service Desk Office

This bachelor thesis puts forward a computer network for service desk offices of arising branch office of an international company. First part of this thesis analyzes current state of computer network, software and hardware demands as well as investor requirements. Second part introduces general information of computer network which are needed for designing the concept, which is elaborated in the third part. Concrete cabling solutions, device choice and economic evaluation of the whole proposed concept are included.

Multiple redundancy computer network topology design

Master thesis deals with the design of network topologies with multiple redundant links for investor’s local area network. The objective of the thesis is to design more topology proposals according to investor’s requirements and applied technologies. Design is based on an analysis of the current state, which describes current topology of investor’s network. The main part of the thesis proposes a solution based on currently available network redundancy protocols. The functionality of the proposed solutions is tested in laboratory conditions. Finally, the individual variants are compared and their individual benefits evaluated.
