The aim of bachelor´s thesis is computer network design for small business. The bachelor´s thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is engaged theoretical ground of computer network, second part analyzes the current state of universal cabling within the specific business. The last part contains a design to modernize the existing universal cabling including summary of expected costs for realization of design.

This bachelor thesis deals with computer network design in a company. The first chapter is about the theoretical concepts important for designing a computer network. The second chapter contains the analysis of a current status, which serves as a foundation for my own design solution, which is also the last chapter of this bachelor thesis. The last chapter also includes economic evaluation of the whole network design.

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on design of computer network, primarily on the level of physical layer of the ISO/OSI model. Design is designated for building a new laboratory for lecturing critical infrastructure. Within the laboratory we need to choose transmission technology and draft their placement. New laboratory will be created by merging two separated classrooms.

This bachelor’s thesis deals with a design of real ABC company’s communication infrastructure. The design includes cabling, devices necessary for running the data network and it also mentions servers. There is theory and it’s aplication in real world mentioned in the work and it also considers economical sensibility of possible solutions. The design itself doesn’t count with existing infrastructure but at the end there are suggestions for possible usage of existing equipment.
