Vernerová, Tereza ; Slanec, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Ježková, Tereza (referee)
Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is one of the most important cultural events in our country and in Europe. Every year, it attracts the attention of filmmakers, celebrities, fans and journalists. Each year dozens of texts are written about the event. The 55th KVIFF was unusual. The date of the event was twice postponed due to coronavirus pandemic. The preparations were complicated for the organizers and the festival took place more than a year later. Because of this, the festival was given even more attention. This bachelor thesis deals with the 55th KVIFF. The theoretical part focuses on the media image of the festival. I map its preparations, the course of nine festival days and the subsequent responses and reverberations after the end of the festival. In the practical part I focus on the visual appearance of the festival. The aim of this part of the work was to create graphic design of the 55th KVIFF. I focus on creating posters, which are the main visuals of the festival. Subsequently, I complete the portfolio with festival passes and merchandising.

The Cultural Conditionality of Walt Disney Animation Studios Film Posters
Lorańczyk, Laura Katarzyna ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Ježková, Tereza (referee)
The bachelor's thesis Cultural Conditionality of Walt Disney Animation Stuidos Film Posters uses the method of quantitative content analysis to examine the changes in Disney film posters that occur depending on the target market. The analysis is based on theoretical culture division models and theories, including the dimensional model of Geert Hofstede and the context theory of Edward Hall. Eighteen territorially different national cultures were included in the research. Chosen time range covers poster mutations to seven feature films of the animation studio from year 2014. Monitored differences were the prevalence of individualistic/collectivist appeals, preferences for masculine/feminine portrayal of characters, the frequency of occurance of textual information and the adjustment of the language. The results indicated adjustments to the cultural values within the first monitored area, a significant influence of the main motifs of the films on the total number of characters present in the poster and on the way they are portrayed. The predominance of feminine portrayal was observed in male figures, and feministic in female figures. The occurrence of textual information did not depend on cultural preferences. Posters mutations were mostly translated into local languages with the exception of posters...
Secondary metabolites and antimicrobial effects of neotropical members of the genus Hermatomyces
Ježková, Tereza ; Koukol, Ondřej (advisor) ; Žabka, Martin (referee)
Species of the genus Hermatomyces (Pleosporales) saprotrophs on wood and litter in the tropics. Since the secondary metabolites of this genus have not been investigated so far, this thesis focuses on them. In this thesis, the antifungal properties of the genus Hermatomyces were verified by pairing experiments on agar plates and by testing the minimum inhibitory concentrations of extracts obtained from fungal biomass. The extract of one selected strain, H. reticulatus CCF 5893, was separated by preparative HPLC. The selected biologically active fractions were purified and the chemical structure of the separated compounds was determined by nuclear magnetic resonance analysis and X-ray crystallography. Two compounds were found in this species: palmarumycins C2 and C12, which have antifungal properties. Furthermore, a total of 25 Hermatomyces strains were compared in terms of secondary metabolite production (by testing their minimum inhibitory concentrations and comparing HRMS data). Unique compounds were produced by H. megasporus, which also showed the highest antimicrobial activity of all species and is therefore the most suitable species for further study of antimicrobial compounds of this genus.
The Building on Obilní trh
Jálová, Kateřina ; Ježková, Tereza (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The Obilní trh is a notable public space in the image of the Brno city. Its southern part has not been completed yet, although there is plenty of potential for development of the city, or its public institutions. The form of public administration and its authorities are criticized for a long period of time. There are a minimum of examples of modern, open, flexible and even sustainable public buildings. The social discourse is calling for them louder and louder and architects must have the answer for this calling prepared.
The Building on Obilní trh
Čuláková, Michaela ; Ježková, Tereza (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the design of a modern and transparent office building in Brno on the Grain Market. Due to the proximity of the community garden, Špilberk and the incompleteness of the building of the environmental department in Brno, the Institute for the Environment was chosen. The building provides also catering and accommodation for guest collaborators, along with areas for office promotion, which include a lecture hall and a gallery. The shape of the building closes the southern part of the Grain Market and thanks to the vertical garden that forms the facade contributes to improving the microclimate.
