E-marketing in Slovak and Czech theatres

KÁNOVÁ, Mária: E-marketing in Slovak and Czech theatres [Master`s thesis] ? Academy of performing arts in Prague, Theatre faculty. Theatre production ? Tutor of the thesis: Mgr. Vlastimil Ježek The submitted master `s thesis deals with marketing on Internet and its use in the theater environment. It describes the relationship between marketing and internet, the content, the role and the definition of e-marketing and particularities of marketing in the theatres. The main part is focused on detailed analysis of internet tools, it brings examples of their possible use in the theaters. It maps the current state of e- marketing in Czech and Slovak theatres and it points out opportunities for the future. Thesis can be used as theoretical base for developing internet marketing strategies.
Viral and Guerilla Marketing in Culture

Master´s thesis Viral and Guerilla Marketing in Culture rises on the definiton of viral marketing as a way of spreading information and guerilla marketing as an attitude. Viral spreading of the information is as old as the advertisment itself but new media provided another dimension and context. For art viral and guerilla marketing represent utilized capacity as culture can take advantage of its viral character (spreading) and guerilla character (fight for a better world, surprise moment, search for new ways of promotion). Basic statement of this thesis is that cultural organizations do not trade on the potential of viral and guerilla marketing. The statement was confirmed by analysing the audience of arts, specifics of arts marketing compared to the marketing of goods, defining viral´s and guerilla´s strong points and weaknesses, activation of the public space in favor of arts and in last but not least analysing of the case studies and research of knowledge and usage of viral marketing in Czech arts organizations.
Donor programmes

This master's thesis deals with possible ways of communication between cultural organisations and donors. It focuses mainly on donor fundraising - systematized, transparent and clearly formulated donor programmes. The main part describes the gift and it's possible forms along with the possibilities of donor management including the inner organisation of work (staffing, use of databases, involvement of Board members) and particular steps of the donor cycle (identification, qualification, cultivation). A detailed analysis of the benefit programmes and various benefits is then followed by the description of donor stewardship and creating of special events. The last part of the thesis deals with corporate donors and the use of the CSR strategies for attracting them. It also seeks the connection between corporate and individual giving. Throughout the whole thesis, the theoretical findings are complemented by practical examples (both from the Czech Republic and abroad). The aim of the thesis is to describe the situation in cultural giving in the Czech Republic and create a range of options for arts managers to use when creating donor programmes for their organisations.
Festivals of literature

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to mapping of the current situation of literary festivals and filling the definition of the word connection of the literary festival. The objective is to describe chosen festivals of literature from the arts management view and try to find common characters. I´ll describe every festival inception, the target market, the manner of publicity, financing and the current stage. Simultaneously I attend to the situation of book fairs, which are supporting the present program as a festival of literature. I also consider questions of financing literature actions in the Czech Republic with the emphasis on the part of Ministry of Culture of Czech Republic. This thesis Festival of literature should help readers to understand the way of realization festivals of literature and theirs specifics. It could accommodate also as an instruction manual for the preparation of festival, where the potential organizer could introduce by various approaches to performance his own festival.
Support of culture in broadcasting of czech nationwide radio stations

This bachelor thesis focuses on the way how Czech radio stations with nationwide broadcasting support culture. For more detailed research were chosen 6 radio stations in total - 3 stations governed by public law, and 3 stations governed by private law. Specifically: Český rozhlas 1 Radiožurnál, Český rozhlas 2 Praha, and Český rozhlas 3 Vltava. Commercial stations included: Rádio Impuls station, Rádio Frekvence 1 station, and Rádio Evropa 2 station. The introduction to the theses includes a description of radio stations governed by public law, and radio stations governed by private law. It further includes the difference between the regional, multiregional and nationwide radio stations. The main target of the theses was to find out how each of the selected nationwide radio station focuses on culture in broadcasting, and how to approach such stations in case of media support for a chosen cultural project. Besides that, the thesis also concentrates on each of the particular Czech nationwide radio station in detail. I focused on the main target group, concrete possible support of cultural projects in broadcasting, and how to ask for media support. The thesis dealing with the support of culture in Czech nationwide radio stations will show the present situation in the particular radio stations, and it will help readers choose the most suitable media partner for their culture projects.
Café Teatr "Černá Labuť" and the Evolution of Café-Théâtre as an Artistic Platform in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the artistic platform named Café Teatr Černá Labuť, which has been functioning in Prague already for twelve years, having been established as an art gallery, theatre and café. Another issue dealt with in this bachelor thesis is the evolution of the artistic form of ?café-théâtre? in the Czech Republic, in order to set the phenomenon of Café-teatr Černá Labuť to a historical context. My main aim was to analyse the activity of the café-théâtre in Černá Labuť, where I have been working already for the fourth year, assess its artistic profile and propose some posible improvements of itsfuture performance. I also consider the following big issue, which every ?café-théâtre? with a programme must cope and put up with: the running of daily café business in parallel with its artistic ambitions ? the coexistence of a café with a gallery and a theatre in a close connection to each other in one space. This thesis aims at acquainting the readers with the pursuit of art in a café-théâtre at a model of Czech artistic platform "Café teatr Černá Labuť". It aspires at drawing the attention to both pitfalls and highlights of running a theatre in a café. It is a specific artistic form whose history has got in this country an outstanding and long tradition.
Culture marketing research

The main concern of our thesis is to map the level of use of the marketing research for culture institutions by the particular case studies. We had focused on the culture institutions with different alignment as galleries, museums and theatres. On the basis of predefined criteria of the institutions - as their founder, place of activity and space size and number of the visitors/audience per year - we determined three examples in particular ? National Theatre, National Museum and National Gallery (all of them Prague based), in which we learned how they use the marketing research in the field of marketing. Thesis are divided into three parts. The first one is applied to theoretic principles, which are supposed to give us solid basis about cultural environment and marketing research. Marketing researches are presented here in general as well as with the aim to cultural institutions. The second part meets the description of case study and research sample. It explains why were the particular institutions, which are mentioned above, chosen, and how we sorted out the criteria by which we have mapped the case studies. The last part focuses on the particular case studies and researches. We introduce here the realization of the marketing researches made by our selected institutions ? procedure, form and processing of results (its evaluation and implementation into the institution´s life).
Motivations of modern Czech arts donor

This bachelor thesis deals with motivations of modern donators of the arts in the Czech Republic. Definitions of the most commonly used terms in the first part help to organize these terms for the purposes of this work. Historical overview follows, bringing insight into development of some types of motivations in the context of the whole society of given era and their impact on present donator?s thinking. Motivations are declared on particular historical examples from our territory and abroad. The third part categorizes and describes the most frequent kinds of motivations of modern donators and presents representative examples. The aim of this work is to find and systematize the most common reasons donators have to donate funds, materials, know-how or time to the arts and culture. Creating compact overview of these motivations might be useful for cultural organizations in their endeavor to obtain and maintain donors.
