Changes in the organizational structure of Matice české from the end of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia era and in during the 1950s era in postwar Czechoslovakia
Jarolímková, Lucie ; Woitschová, Klára (advisor) ; Běličová, Milena (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to focus on the changes and developments within the organizational structure of the Czech Matice during the end of the German occupation within the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, then during the post-war period of the Third Republic, and in the end during socialism, specifically in the 1950s. To understand the organizational structure of the Czech Matice itself, it is necessary to outline the functioning of the entire organization of the National Museum under the influence of Society of Friends of the National Museum. The Czech Matice was deprived of its publishing rights in 1949 and the whole institution was even threatened with termination in the 1950s. In 1953, however, by definitively joining the Society of Friends of the National Museum, it saved its existence, and has remained a part of that institution to this day. The thesis is based mainly on the archive resources of the Czech Matice, which are stored in the Archives of the National Museum, which contain documents since the founding of the institution until 1956. Keywords: Czech Matice, National Museum, Society of the National Museum, Society of Friends of the National Museum, World War II, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, Third Republic, socialism, publishing, public administration, organization,...
