Evaluating the Quality of Combination Gun's Firing Mechanism
Šulková, Jana ; Jankových, Róbert (referee) ; Harčarík, Matej (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with evaluation of quality of Brno Combo combination rifle shotgun rifled barrel’s firing mechanism. It contains a proposal of criteria for evaluation of quality of firearm firing mechanisms. It further focuses on using measurement of primer deformation as a means of assessing the quality of a firing mechanism. Based on measurements made using a Focus Variation microscope, various geometrical parameters of fired and failed primers were analysed. The measurement results were processed using ANOVA and regression analysis. Based on output of these analyses, practical recommendations and further research proposals were formulated.
Determination Accuracy of Measurement in Nanometrology
Šrámek, Jan ; Číp, Ondřej (referee) ; Tykal, Miroslav (referee) ; Jankových, Róbert (advisor)
The presented doctoral thesis deals with measurements of extremely small sizes in nanometrology using a touch probe, which constitutes a part of a three-coordinate measuring system. It addresses a newly developed method of exact measurements in nanometrology by touch probes. The aim of this work was to expand the measurement options of this device and design a methodology proposal for the measurement of small parts, including the determination of accuracy of measurement of this device when used in nanometrology. The work includes the new methodology for the calculation of uncertainty of measurement, which constitutes a keystone in determining the accuracy of measurement of a accuracy three coordinate measuring system (hereinafter only nano-CMM). The first part of the doctoral thesis analyzes the present situation in the area of evaluation of accuracy of measurement in very accurate length measurements. It defines and describes individual methods implemented in the determination of accuracy of measurement on the instrument nano-CMM. A great emphasis is placed on the methodology of the measurement uncertainty, which draws from the author’s experience as a metrologist working in the laboratories of the Department of Primary nanometrology and technical length, Czech Metrology Institute Brno (hereinafter only CMI Brno). The second part of the doctoral thesis focuses on the determination of accuracy of length measurement in nanometrology, using a large set of measurements that were carried out under the reproducibility and repeatability conditions. There is also described and tested a model procedure utilizing the Monte Carlo method to simulate the measuring system nano-CMM in order to extent the newly created methodology of the measurement of uncertainty using a touch probe on the instrument nano-CMM. A substantial part of this doctoral thesis provides a detailed evaluation of results obtained from experiments that were executed under the repeatability and reproducibility conditions, especially for the purposes of the determination of the uncertainty of measurement. In this doctoral thesis, the uncertainty of measurement is chosen to quantify the accuracy of measurement of the instrument nano-CMM. The final part of this thesis summarizes the knowledge obtained during the scientific research and provides its evaluation. For the methodology used to determine the accuracy of measurement in nanometrology, it also outlines the future development in the area of scientific research, including the practical use in metrological traceability and extremely accurate measurements for customers. Furthermore, it deals with the possible use of other scanning systems compatible with the instrument nano-CMM.
Design of a suitable length standard for nanometology at the CMI Brno and CEITEC Brno
Češek, Jakub ; Jankových, Róbert (referee) ; Šrámek, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of a suitable length standard for nanometrology. This length standard will be used for metrological traceability of the Rigaku nano3DX located at CEITEC Brno and the SIOS NMM-1 device which is located at ČMI Brno. The first part is focused on the description of these measuring instruments, the analysis of their metrological traceability requirements and the requirements for the material length standard. The second part is devoted to the concrete possibilities of the etalon design, 3D printing of the prototype of the standard and verification of its dimensional compatibility. At the end of the thesis, the evaluation and selection of the appropriate standard design is made.
Machine tool spindle quality assurance
Marek, Tomáš ; Prostredník, Daniel (referee) ; Jankových, Róbert (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the problem of quality assurance of headstock in a cooperating company, which is one of the leading manufacturers of grinding machine tools. The aim was to analyse the current situation and to suggest possibilities for improving the quality of the spindle. The main contribution is the introduction of control charts for individual values and a capability index to monitor the stability of selected production processes. The thesis concludes by suggesting a number of further options for improving the quality management system in the collaborating company, which should be considered by the company.
Special length sensors
Pavliš, Jakub ; Prostredník, Daniel (referee) ; Jankových, Róbert (advisor)
This bachelor thesis contains a theoretical description of selected length sensors with emphasis on inductive and optical sensors. The main benefit of this thesis is the design and realization of a special inductive sensor with a small pressure force and an optical sensor with a resolution of 2.5 nanometers. In the thesis are analyzed the selected metrological properties of the designed sensors and the formulation of recommendations for their practical use.
Quality assessment of pneumatic linear drives
Pecl, Tomáš ; Jankových, Róbert (referee) ; Budík, Tomáš (advisor)

Multiparametric diagnostics of high-speed machine
Bowyer, Matouš ; Harčarík, Matej (referee) ; Jankových, Róbert (advisor)
The goal of the thesis was applying multiparametric diagnostics to determine the state and wear of a high-speed milling machine. In the theoretical section, selected areas of multiparametric diagnostics have been described as well as a significant focus on vibrodiagnostics. The chosen methods for the practical section were incorporated into the group “metrological diagnostics”. Several different types of measurements have been performed on the designed test piece. The measurements were analyzed and lead to these specific results: a drawing of the test piece, a structured methodology for evaluating the test piece, recommendations for diagnostics of the specific machine, and proposals for the future development of the field of metrological diagnostics.
