Inspite of the fact that FTTx networks are the most future-proof solution for the access networks, they are mature and there is sufficient supply of equipment on the market, the pace of their implementation in various countries and regions vastly differs. In the contribution, the up-to-date situation concerning implementation and utilization of optical fibre access networks is presented and drivers and inhibitors of fibre optics advancement into access networks are identified.

Analysis of situation in implementation of FTTx networks at home and abroad

In the contribution, up-to-date information on implementation and utilization of optical fibre-based FTTx-type access networks in the Czech Republic and abroad is presented. Emphasis is placed on economical and political aspects of this process. Some successful FTTx projects realized at home and abroad are described. An attempt is made to outline the trends of development of FTTx-based access networks.

The main milestones in developing broadband in the Czech Republic are described and analysis of the relevant market no. 12 as performed by the Czech Telecommunication Office is commented. National broadband strategy is presented and funding of broadband projects are described. Up-to-date data on broadband penetration and on its availability across the country is given. Some consumer issues are discussed.

The aim of bachelor's thesis is financial analysis of company Mondi Bags Štětí a.s during the years 2003 - 2008. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. Theoretical part contains basic methods of financial analysis. In the practical part are these methods applied and consecutively their results interpreted too. At the end is comparison with results of the Czech paper industry.
