Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and Physical Activity

Bachelor thesis discusses the issue of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). It deals specifically with principles, selection and application of appropriate physical activities that are a significant part of the overall treatment of patients affected by JIA. The theoretical part focuses on basic terms and the summarization of findings about JIA; it further deals with causing factors, clinical manifestation, diagnosis and treatment options. The purpose and importance of physical therapy is described is the special part. For each stage of the disease appropriate set of exercises and principles of movements for individual human body joints are presented, with more options of physical activities suitable for a complex physical treatment. The practical part then presents a case study of an individual with juvenile idiopathic arthritis who has undergone a kinesiological examination which was a basis for creating a short-term and a long-term exercise plan.
Swimming instruction of mentally handicapped individual and his/her integration - Down's syndrome

The subject of the diploma thesis concerns the integration of mentally handicapped individuals into the group of standard population in the course of preparatory training of swimming. The aim of the thesis is the evaluation and charting of the problem of the Down syndrome and on the basis of the results the proposal and verification of the conception of integration of the handicapped person. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is based upon the characteristics of the specific traits of mentally handicapped individuals, it explains the terms of the Down syndrome, it explains the integration of mentally handicapped individuals, and it informs about the swimming as a means of integration into the society. The practical part of the diploma thesis described the course of the research work, it characterizes the studied group of individuals, it includes the results of testing (Štochl, 2002) and it registers the acquiring of the respective aptitudes. The results are evaluated by verbal description as well as by the form of graphs. Skiing and snowboarding at first grade of elementary

This academic work deals with children who are school age or younger school age and their interest in skiing and snowboarding. It tries to expose the reason of decreasing attendance at ski courses offered by schools. The research made by questionnaire shows that most of the children attending lower grades of elementary schools do some sport. They would also like to attend the ski course but they often listed finances as the obstacle. The results of interviews made with teachers of elementary schools and high schools display that only the children who had experienced winter sports either before entering elementary school or soon after entering school want to participate. This work considers as important placing the ski courses at the first grade of the elementary schools. The number of children interested in winter sports would increase. The Conditions for Spontaneous Movement Activities for Children at the Lower Level of Primary School in a Housing Estate

The aim of this work was to find out and deseribe the conditions for spontaneous movement in the city and wether their needs and wishes are respected and wether the playgrounds correspond with the norms and the proposal of the specialist. The theoretical part deals with the role of the playground in children's lives, with creating of conditions for movement and with the influence on their helth. I have used seven different methods in my work: a questionnaire, a project method, an individual and group discussion with children, interviews with experts and architects, an analysis and controll of the conditions for movement, a systematic non-committed observation. I stated eight hypotheses to reach the individual partial goals. I supposed that transport attainablity of the playgrounds and sport grounds is within the reach of walking and means of transport. And that children prefer swimming and playing in wather to the games in the playgrounds, that children in the playgrounds miss the natural elements, that from all the elementa of play they will use the slide, the swing and the sand-pit and that this equipment will be considered as the elements which mustn't be absent. The differecces in teaching skiing sliding and carving turns

This thesis deals with the issue of differences between the two techniques in the teaching of children under 15 years. There are sliding and carving techniques. In the theoretical part we are defining the basic differences between both techniques and practical part, we are evaluating these differences. The practical part is devoted to the preparation, implementation and evaluation of two experiments. In the first experiment children were classified into four groups according to the age and the skiing technique. The experiment took place at the ski school called Ski Club Telnice. We compared parameters such as speed of learning, the success of passing the specified routes and speed of passing tracks. The same parameters were evaluated also in the second experiment, which was aimed at pupils of the 2nd grade of elementary school in Povrly. Finally, we compared both experiments, the results of the second experiment should confirm the results of the first experiment.

PHYSICAL SKILLS OF 5th CLASS -CHILDREN IN VILLAGES AND CITIES AND THEIR COMPARISION

The goal of this bachelor's thesis was to determine the level of physical skills of children in 5th grade and to compare the level of skills of children in primary schools in villages and cities. Due to the vastness of the topic only gymnastic skills were chosen for the purpose of this research. The gymnastic skills were selected based on the curriculum of physical education for 5th grades of primary schools. The skills chosen were: somersault, somersault back, hand stand and vault. The testing was conducted at selected primary schools during classes of physical education with help from physical education teachers. Children were classified by rating scales; these rating scales were created separately for each physical skill. Graphic elaboration of the results was created to help evaluate the research. Furthermore we were interested whether there are more children with apparent overweight in primary schools in cities or in primary schools in villages. We also wanted to distinguish to what extent these children affected the results of the research.
Level of motor abilities of primary school children dealing with ballroom dancing

The aim of this dissertation is to find out the level of motoric abilities at younger school age children who take part in social dance. I tested the level of motoric abilities using the test battery Unifittest (6 - 60). I compared the level of motoric abilities at younger school age children who take part in social dance and at younger school age children who only attend PE lessons. I tried to find out the change of the level in motoric abilities at the two above mentioned groups. I also tried to discover the type and frequency of other sport activities which children regularly do in their free time. Empirically focused part of my thesis substantiate that children of the younger school age, who take part in social dance, achieved a bigger improvement of fitness and coordinative motoric abilities. The biggest improvement was in the test of flexibility. On the basis of the questionnaire survey I found out, that children of the younger school age who do not take part in social dance, very often devote to football in their leisure.
