The universal inclusivist soteriology (of Pauline type?) according to Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
Novák, Petr ; Houkal, Jan (advisor) ; Bouma, David (referee)
This bachelor thesis elaborates the topic of ontological and functional significance of the person of Jesus Christ, according to French philosopher and scientist PierreTeilhard de Chardin. At present time, his theological contribution is appreciated by Pope Benedict XVI and Francis. But many of his thoughts and genial writings were censored and forbidden in the preconciliar Catholic discourse during his lifetime. All his major works were published posthumously. However, he still remains a controversial author. The study aims to assess whether it could be considered the functional christology of Teilhard de Chardin as the universal inclusivist soteriology of Pauline type. The basis and frame of reference for coparison are proto-Pauline epistles of The New Testament (especially Romans, First Corinthians and Philippians). The inclusivist concept of salvation in the works of Teilhard de Chardin can be come the starting-point for ecumenical dialogue between the Christian denominations that share the Apostle Paul. Keywords christology, inclusivism, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Saint Paul, soteriology

Pospíšil, Zdeněk ; Mohelník, Tomáš (advisor) ; Houkal, Jan (referee)
Bachelor thesis "The Sacrament of Penance in the Roman Catechism, and in the Catechism of the Catholic Church" analysis the historical context of the catechism's emergence (Chapter 2). For better clarity of the recherché part, the elaboration of catechism's contents was divided into three separate chapters. Joint analysis of both catechisms is viewed in terms of the circumstances of origin, content, and size, description, in whole or in part with a more general focus on the sacraments (Chapter 3). Own significance, the importance, the structure of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and its integration into everyday life and salvation of man is described in detail and separately for the Roman Catechism (Chapter 4) and the Catechism of the Catholic Church (Chapter 5). The differences, similarities and identical terms, single major portions of both catechisms and detailed information about the celebration of the Sacrament of Penance are separate mutually evaluated and judged in historical-critical contexts (Chapter 6). Finally the findings and assessed objectives are summarized and evaluated (Chapter 7). Importance of the work lies in the awareness of the importance of integrating the various parts of Christian doctrine and traditions within a historical context, but not only from a way of expressing...
The Transcendental experience of Karl Rahner as a starting point of the reflexion of credibility of christianity
Šenovský, Jakub ; Bouma, David (advisor) ; Houkal, Jan (referee)
Title: The Transcendental Experience of Karl Rahner as a Starting Point of the Reflexion of Credibility of Christianity Abstract: In a broader scope, this master's thesis concerns with the question, how (or even whether) it is possible to show the credibility of the Christian faith in today's society, especially to those who are not believers. Specifically it is focused on the way, how Karl Rahner tried to solve this question. The starting point of his solution is the so called "transcendental experience" that is common to all people; furthermore, it is so basic that it would not be possible any thinking or action without it. Although it is so basic, it is also hidden for human, which constitutes the main problem with its clarification. In this thesis, I am focussing first on the solution of this matter in Hörer des Wortes and then in his late works: Gotteserfahrung heute, Gotteserfahrung und Selbsterfahrung a Grundkurs des Glaubens.
Trilogy Jesus of Nazareth by Benedict XVI from the perspective of fundamental theology
Kubíček, Ludvík ; Bouma, David (advisor) ; Houkal, Jan (referee)
Trilogy Jesus of Nazareth, Pope Benedict XVI from the perspective of fundamental theology In this thesis, the author aims to finding interesting topics in the trilogy, Jesus of Nazareth of Pope Benedict XVI and their contribution to fundamental theology. The author takes into account the other sources from theological work of Joseph Ratzinger and his production as Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI. Work represents the view of Joseph Ratzinger on the use of empirical methods, particularly the historical-critical method in the study of the Scripture, the historical credibility of the Gospel of John and his authorship and the internal process of the text in Church. The thesis also discusses the benefits of the Gospel of John for internal knowledge of Jesus Christ and draws conclusions from the empirical reductionism for understanding Jesus' divinity. The author then discusses the topic of truth and love as the possibility of recognizing their source in God. Marginally mentions the role of the Virgin Mary and her helping to the study of Scripture and deepen relations between Christians and Christ.
Human openness : In theology of Karl Rahner and Wolfhart Pannenberg
Valeš, Jan ; Štefan, Jan (advisor) ; Houkal, Jan (referee) ; Macek, Petr (referee)
The thesis Human openness : In theology of Karl Rahner and Wolfhart Pannenberg is dealing with the term 'openness' in a theological sense when it speaks of an essential characteristics of human being. Rahner and Pannenberg surpass all the other authors in 20-th century who use this term in their consistency of usage and richness of its meaning. First and largest part of the thesis offers analysis of both authors and their usage of the term, from earliest works to the final comprehensive presentations of their systematic theology. Second part takes the term under the test of imago Dei doctrine, teaching about sin, and about the salvation in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Secondary literature helps to see value of their theology. One of the results of this test is the fact that we can speak about one notion of openness since the similarities of both authors prevail over the differences. Third part of the thesis offeres creative possibilities of work with notion of openness. Conclusion contains suggested definition of the notion by these two authors. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The position of love in the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales
Svobodová, Jana ; Brož, Prokop (advisor) ; Houkal, Jan (referee)
The centre of S. Francis of Sales's spirituality is love. In my thesis, first of all, I deal with formative influences which formed his personality. This is the starting point in the discourse about Francis's theological optimism, its roots and its influence on the conception of God. For S. Francis God is esentially the God in Trinity, who share love in the highest manner also with a man through the mystery of Incarnation. Francis's conception of love that has its seat in the heart of a human being is connected with that conviction. In the very top of a heart there is the will which is called up to make decisions according to love that gives the true motivation. On the way of the growth of love the highest aim is the holy indifference, which enables God to act in a human heart according to His intentions. For S. Francis love to God is closely connected with love to a man who is the image of God. During his direction of souls to love S. Francis recommends first of all kindness and as the main mens a prayer and sacraments. The heart which has become fully pervaded with love, which loves and is loved, we can best contemplate at Virgin Mary.
