Structure of a boundary layer between a star and an accretion disk: analytical models
Trachta, Tomáš ; Horák, Jiří (advisor) ; Karas, Vladimír (referee)
In this work, we attempt to find a three-dimensional solution to the Navier-Stokes equations describing an α-disk accreting onto a neutron star. The solution for great radial distances is well-known. However, this solution leads to a singularity at the zero-torque radius. A boundary layer arises in the neighbourhood of this radius since the solution for great radial distances cannot fulfil the inner boundary condition, therefore it stops being valid. Mathematically we are dealing with singular perturbations. In order to eliminate this singularity, we will use the method of matched asymptotic expansions, which leads to new equations of motion. First, we review known results, then we provide arguments for rescaling the equations of motion, and we attempt to solve the rescaled equations. 1
Design of the bottom housing manipulator of the toner cartridge
Horák, Jiří ; Pavlík, Jan (referee) ; Knoflíček, Radek (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on bottom housing manipulator of the toner cartridge concept, construction and economical analysis. This manipulator should be potentially integrated into the toner cartridge assembling and filling prodution line. Theoretical part of this thesis is focused on manipulation issues and object manipulation. Practical part consists of conception desing part which is followed by multi criteria decision analysis. Next part is focused on Construction and pneumatic scheme. Economical analysis is also part of the thesis. The diploma thesis also contain 3D models of the manipulator and drawing documentation.
The use of statistical process control as a tool of the quality control system in the production process
Horák, Jiří ; Brýdl, David (referee) ; Bartes, František (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the determination of possible benefits from the introduction and use of statistical regulation in the production process and the display and evaluation of control charts of the selected product of the company.
3D scanner of electromagnetic field
Dušek, Filip ; Horák, Jiří (referee) ; Láčík, Jaroslav (advisor)
The Diploma thesis focuses on the description, design, and implementation of a 3D scanner for electromagnetic fields. The requirements for the scanner are outlined, and the functional principle is analyzed. The scanner design was created using SOLIDWORKS 2022, with individual parts being designed and assembled to form the scanner. The motors were calculated and dimensioned for the XYZ movements. The measurement principle using probes is described. The probes were designed and simulated using ANSYS HFSS, employing simple configurations such as an open-ended coaxial cable and a coaxial cable loop, which were subsequently realized. A 3D scanner for electromagnetic fields was constructed. A control software program was developed in MATLAB and Simulink to acquire data from the measurements. The acquired data was processed in MATLAB, generating 3D graphs of the electromagnetic field based on the measured and processed data.
Thin accretion disk structure equation in a general metric
Hrubeš, Jan ; Bursa, Michal (advisor) ; Horák, Jiří (referee)
In the physics of accretion disks around extremely massive objects, the effect of spa- cetime curvature is manifested on the behaviour of gas and radiation. Black holes and the accretion disks around them are commonly described by the Kerr metric. However, other metrics are being tested to see if their predictions correspond better to real astronomical objects. The aim of this thesis is to generalize the description of the accretion disk develo- ped by I. D. Novikov and K. S. Thorne for a general stationary axially symmetric metric. The results are then verified by substitution of the Kerr solution. In the last section the equations are solved for the stationary axially symmetric metric with charge parameter. 1
Log-periodic antenna for UHF band
Povolný, Ondřej ; Horák, Jiří (referee) ; Láčík, Jaroslav (advisor)
Semestral thesis is focused on the design, analysis and optimization of a log-periodic dipole antenna for UHF measurements. Antenna is introduced with design equations, simulated and optimized to minimize input port reflection coefficient and maximize gain. After that, the antenna cover is introduced and the simulation results are compared for the antenna without cover.
Use of statistical process control as an instrument of quality management system in the production process
Horák, Jiří ; Brýdl, David (referee) ; Bartes, František (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals the evaluation of control charts of the quality characteristics of the selected company product and the determination of possible benefits from the introduction and use of statistical process control in the production process.
Quasar accretion disk mapping by gravitational microlensing
Ledvina, Lukáš ; Heyrovský, David (advisor) ; Horák, Jiří (referee)
Quasar microlensing is a relatively newly explored phenomenon, which is ideally suited for studying the spatial distribution of emission from the innermost accretion disc. By now we know many macrolensed quasars, in which we can observe multiple images formed by the deflection of light in the gravitational field of an intervening galaxy. In case one of these images passes directly through the stellar population of the galaxy, it can be additionally microlensed by individual stars. The gravitational field of these stars forms a caustic network for light passing by. When a quasar accretion disc crosses behind this network, induced changes can be observed in the light curve as well as in the spectrum. In the first part of this thesis we study the statistics of the time intervals between successive caustic crossings. In the second part we use a fully relativistic Kerr-metric thin-disc model for studying the light curve of a fold-caustic crossing and its dependence on the accretion- disc parameters. In the last part we simulate changes in the X-ray iron-line profile during a fold-caustic crossing. We find characteristic spectral features formed on the line, and derive their analytical description. Finally, we map the maximum strength of microlensing-generated peaks on the spectral line for different...
Children and Leisure Time in Jižní Město
Horák, Jiří ; Vorlová, Marie (advisor) ; Zimmermannová, Martina (referee)
This bachelor's work is called Children and their leisure time in Jižní Město. It is dealing with the topic of spending leisure time of children and young adults in the city district Prague 11 - Jižní Město. The work is divided into two main parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is defining the basic terms important for this work - endangered children and young adults, free time, unorganized children and young adults etc. The practical part is focusing on the secondary analysis of a questionnaire research. The questionnaire research has been organised by drop-in centres for children and young adults Ymkárium, Jižní Pól and Dixie in co-operation with the city district Prague 11. The research was completed in nine basic schools in Jižní Město by lower-secondary pupils ( age group 11 to 15). The respondents were answering the questions concerning their leisure time; trust in adults, parents concern and the rate of socially undesirable phenomenon. The main aim of this bachelor's work is to compare the organized and unorganized children and young adults in the city district Prague 11 - the ways and places they spend their leisure time, the measure of influence of socially undesirable phenomenon. The sub aims are focusing on following questions: Is the presence of social and leisure time...
