Manual versus orbital GTAW piping welding
Hofbauer, Jan ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Sigmund, Marian (advisor)
In thesis are compared options of stainless steel piping welding, orbital and manual version of method GTAW and GMAW. At the beginning, these methods are described theoretically and after that there are described materials used for fabrication two test welds on austenitic steel piping of diameter 168 mm. The first weld was made by orbital method GTAW, the second one by manual method GMAW. Next, these two welds are compared based on defects, welding parameters and width of heat affected area. The conclusion is that both welds are defect-free and because of economical aspects is better to use orbital GMAW method for this diameter of piping.
Heat exchanger design to improve the efficiency of industrial plant
Hofbauer, Jan ; Kilkovský, Bohuslav (referee) ; Freisleben, Vít (advisor)
In thesis is done thermal-hydraulic design of cross-flow tubular heat exchanger for combustion air preheating. In software Chemcad is done simulation of technological unit based on known operating data, which is used for behavior prediction of unit after heat exchanger installation. Then there are discussed essential mechanisms of heat transfer. After that there is overview of different heat exchanger types used for combustion air preheating. Before particular design there is performed optimalization of heat duty of heat exchnger based on payback time. Thermal-hydraulic design is performed using F-LMTD method in software GNU Octave. Obtained results are verified using software HTRI Xchanger Suite®. At the end there are discussed economical and ecological benefits of designed heat exchanger.

Analysis of the international distribution chain for the chosen brewery
HOFBAUER, Jan
The objective of my thesis was to analyse a foreign distribution chain of the brewery Budějovický měšťanský pivovar a.s. which can be recognized as an actual theme for the reason of conection with positioning of export companies on the market situation after a strong impact of the financial crises and especially of the rapid change ot the CZK exchange rate. In these times every company must use its potential in the most effective way to keep or increase its viability. Teh main goal of my thesis was to review an actual state of the international distribution chain with the focus of the information and material flow among each parts of the international distribution of the beer. Other goal was to explore all possible breaking points and propose a solutions of the discovered issues and problems.
