Based on the research done, it was concluded that UNRWA isn't responsible of Palestinian refugee growth as it is the result of population growth in region and the result of foreign events. In question of elementary and preparatory education, the decreasing percentage tendencies in attendance at UNRWA run schools have been observed despite multiplication of the refugee population. This might be a result of failing to accommodate to the needs of Palestinian refugees.

Hlaváčová, Lenka ; Franková, Martina (referee)
Public participation in environmental decision-making processes Abstract The main goal of this dissertation is to analyse the current legal regulation of public participation in environmental decision-making processes and on the basis of such findings to contribute to the further development of this institute. Public participation in decision-making processes is an important tool for environmental protection, whether we look at it from the point of view of everyone's right to a favourable environment or as a separate value that needs to be protected for itself. It is a relatively new institute in the Czech legal system. Its gradual incorporation into Czech legislation has only occurred in the last 30 years, especially in connection with the Czech Republic's accession to the Aarhus Convention and the European Union. Despite its recognition at the international level, obligations arising for the Czech Republic from the Aarhus Convention and EU law and a number of benefits that come with it, the possibilities of the members of the public in the Czech Republic to participate in environmental decision-making has been significantly reduced in recent years. Therefore, in addition to the analysis of current legislation, the dissertation, to a limited extent, focus on the development of the institute of public...

Public participation in environmental decision-making procedures
Hlaváčová, Lenka ; Humlíčková, Petra (advisor) ; Stejskal, Vojtěch (referee)
1 Abstract The theme of the thesis is public participation in environmental decision-making. Its main aim is to analyse its current legal regulation in the Czech Republic and its deficiencies. The Czech Republic as a party to the Aarhus Convention and a member of the EU is obliged to ensure that the Czech legal regulation complies with the regulation of public participation contained in the Aarhus convention and the EU law. Therefore a small part of this thesis is devoted to analyse those regulation. Main focus, however, lies with the Czech regulation. The thesis examines the most important acts containing the regulation of public participation and draws attention to its deficiencies as well as to the relevant case law. While analysing the specific acts and their deficiencies the thesis focuses on two questions. Firstly, whether all the persons who should be granted the possibility to participate in environmental decision-making under the Aarhus Convention are given this possibility under the Czech law. And secondly, whether the given possibility is truly effective. Finally, the thesis deals with the possibility to redress the inadequate legal regulation by amending the current legislation or by changes in the judicial interpretation.

Reasons for U.S. veto in the United Nations Security Council on behalf of Israel, 1972-1997
Hlaváčová, Lenka ; Přikryl, Pavel (advisor) ; Halás, Matúš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to define the reasons of the U.S veto on behalf of Israel in the United Nations Security Council through analysis of the drafted resolutions. Author presents the resolutions vetoed by the U.S. on Israel in 1972-1997. The analysis focuses on four fields: who proposes the resoltutions, what is the subject of the resotutions, what language is used in the resultions, and what is the stance of the U.S. Representative to UN. Author states that the sponsors of the resolutions aren't relevant for the U.S. decision-making. Author rather supports the opinion that the language used and the intention to solve the Arab-Israeli Conflict by the UN SC are most probably the reasons for the U.S veto. The unbalancedness of the resoltuions (in the U.S. Understanding) is also one of the causes of the veto. U.S is refusing to condemn Israel in UN SC resolutions and it is trying to have the Arab-Israeli conflict solved by the parties involved and not by the third party who would impose the conditions of the settlement.
