Classroom climate at a primary school

The thesis deals with the class atmosphere in the 4th year of primary school. The topic is the transformation of a negative class atmosphere into a positive one. The aim was to find methods and forms of working with the class to improve the atmosphere in the class. In the theoretical part of the thesis we deal with the topics of a school class, the atmosphere in the school and in the class, indiscipline in the class, and the teacher's care for the atmosphere in the class, which is related to the addressed problem in the class. The practical part of the thesis is action teaching research. The aim of the action teaching research was to assess the specifics of the 4th year in terms of nurturing the classroom atmosphere, particularly when a negative class atmosphere arises. Through active teaching research, which included observations by the teacher, consultations with experts, and diagnostics of the class using a questionnaire titled "Our Class", the problem in the specific class was resolved and the objective of the thesis was fulfilled. Specific methods leading to an improvement of the situation in the class are described in the practical part. I believe that these methods are generally applicable and can be used in practice by other teachers, and not only those who are starting their career.
Collaboration with the family in the program Start together in a pandemic situation

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of cooperation between a school and a family during a pandemic. The theoretical part characterizes the "Začít spolu" program, which is based on the cooperation with the family. It presents the Standards of the program, in which it focuses on the area of Family and community. It deals with distance learning and compares the possible forms of communication and cooperation in the full-time form of teaching and also during distance teaching. The practical part of the thesis deals with qualitative and quantitative research, carried out through in-depth interviews and survey, which aims to find out how and in what way the pandemic affected the cooperation of a school and a family and what do the teachers and parents take from it in their future cooperation. Communication between school and family in formative assesment of pupils

This thesis deals with communication between school and family in the formative assessment of pupils. The main goal of this thesis is to map the procedures and conditions of functional communication between school and family regarding the formative assessment of pupils. This goal will be followed by a second goal, which is aimed at finding examples of good practice. The theoretical part deals with the topic of formative assessment, communication between school and family, which describes what role the parent can be in relation to the school and the last chapter deals with the assumptions of student learning at the 1st stage of primary school. The practical part is qualitative research, in which research methods of observation and a questionnaire will be used. This part is carried out at six primary schools in Prague by selected female teachers. These schools are divided into two groups. The first group consists of three schools that gradually introduce formative assessment or use it only by some teachers in the school. Tutorial system in the education of primary school pupils

This diploma thesis deals with the tutorial system in the education of primary school pupils. The theoretical part is marginally devoted to defining the historical development of cooperation between family and school and it is individual forms, from which the so-called tutorial system is based. The greatest attention is paid to this part of the work. It is focused on main principles and goals. The tutorial system offers a specific relationship between family and school through the building of an open and confidential environment and, under appropriate conditions, helps the interplay of the educational process of both social institutions. The empirical part of the work is aimed at finding out whether the tutorial system is really a functional form of cooperation between family and school, providing specific benefits for all stakeholders. It is implemented through a qualitative methodology, specifically through structured, semi-structured interviews and observations. Pupils, parents, teachers, tutors and the principal of the primary school where the research took place were involved in the research survey. Activation methods and organisational forms at a primary school

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out how teachers of the 1st stage of elementary schools use different types of methods, especially activation methods, to support pupils in motivation to learn and how they activate them in their learning performances. The theoretical part in the first chapter focuses on the issue of activation methods and organizational forms in terms of defining the concept, objectives, the main reasons for their implementation and classification of these methods. The second chapter characterizes the pupil at a younger school age, his needs and interests, which the teacher tries to fulfill purposefully through teaching methods. It also discusses the relationship between motivation and performance leading to the fulfillment of learning objectives. The last chapter focuses on the teacher's work with activation methods in the classroom, individual problems that may affect the use of teaching methods in the teaching process and factors that affect the motivation of students during lessons. In the practical part of the diploma thesis, I used qualitative research to find out how the teachers of the 2nd and 3rd grades of a selected Prague primary school use various teaching methods to activate pupils and so motivate them to perform. Communication between teacher and pupils at a primary school

Diploma thesis named "Communication between teacher and pupils at a primary school" considers adults attitude to children, specifically teachers attitude to pupils. It describes the development of attitude to children as an important factor which shapes educational attitude to children in a context of current changes in child education. The thesis defines two basic attitudes - the collegial and authoritarian. It provides information on components allowing an effective reception of information, which is neccessary to understand the meaningfulness of the collegial attitude. It characterizes effective and ineffective communicational skills that can be found in these educational attitudes. The practical part is an action research that maps abilities and skills of starting teacher which follow the colegial educational attitude in practice. It tries to assess the success rate of attempts of using the collegial attitude in teaching, which is being done through observation, self-reflection, observation of other pedagogues and getting feedback from them.
Differentiation of teaching in a class of a primary school by a learning task

The thesis focuses on differentiation of teaching by learning tasks at primary school. The theoretical background deals with possible ways how to effectively use learning tasks for children's development and to motivace them to the other activity. Furhemore it includes competencies which enable teachers to differentiate them to create variants of learning tasks. Readiness of the beginning teacher for the work with an integrated pupil

This thesis deals with the issues of the work with an integrated pupil. It is particularly dedicated to the beginning teachers. It explains the important terms concerning the integration of the handicapped pupils into the basic school education. It describes the development, historical attitudes and explains the basic legal principles. Besides that, it is focused on the arranging of individual educational schedule, oral assessment and cooperation with the special institutions. A substantial part of this piece of work is the survey in the area of preparedness of the students of the field of study "Teaching for the 1.stage of the basic school", aimed at the subjective opinion of the readiness and skillfulness to educate the integrated pupil in her / his class.
Beginning Teacher at the first grade of primary school

Diploma thesis addresses the issue of initial training of beginning teachers of primary school in Czech schools. Defines the requirements for successful integration of new employees, as well as suggesting possible standard procedures, methods and assesses the possibility of their use in the school environment. It describes the role of supervising teacher and the meaning of its existence. The task of the practical part is to find out with which kinds of educational activities beginning teachers have problems. In interviews with experienced teachers, we tried to clarify whether at the time of their beginnings had the same problems as current teachers and we wonder on what skills and knowledge should be students of faculties of education trained better.
