Regulation of cytokinin metabolism in tobacco plants and chloroplasts

Cytokinins (CKs) are one of the most important group of phytohormones influencing many processes throughout the whole plant. As many processes are regulated both by the light and phytohormones, the first part of this work has been focused on evaluation of diurnal rhytmicity in levels of cytokinins and other cooperating hormones like auxin (indol-3-acetic acid, IAA), abscisic acid (ABA) and polyamines (PA). The changes in activity of selected enzymes participating in metabolism of the above mentioned phytohormones were followed as well. Diurnal variation of phytohormones was tested in tobacco leaves (Nicotiana tabacum L. cv. Wisconsin 38) grown under a 16/8 h (light/dark) period. The main peak of the physiologically active forms of CKs, found after the middle of the light period, coincided well with the maximum of IAA and PA levels and with activity of the corresponding enzymes. The achieved data indicate that metabolism of CKs, IAA and PAs is tightly regulated by the circadian clock. The other part of the study has been focused on changes in the contents of CKs, IAA and ABA in transgenic tobacco plants with altered cytokinin metabolism, achieved via the over-expression of particular enzymes participating in CK metabolism (biosynthesis, degradation and reversible conjugation). Comparison of economic and environmental aspects of waste management in selected municipalities of different sizes

The industrial development of our society pushes waste management into becoming an important part of both the economy as well as the environmental protection. It is essential to reduce the amount of waste which is being deposited in landfills without any further use. In the next 10 years it is necessary to completely eliminate waste disposal of the reusable waste and especially of the mixed municipal waste. This thesis focuses on the waste management of various types of municipalities. It aims to provide optimization of waste management, in the connection with economical and technical possibilities of various types of municipalities. This thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes the issue of waste management in the course of history. It shows the various methods of waste disposal and describes the economic and environmental aspects and impacts in general. It briefly summarizes the development of waste management legislation. The second part of this thesis is focused on the analysis of waste management in selected municipalities. Twelve towns in three groups of different sizes were chosen. A survey of waste disposal and the influence of the size of the town and its technical options on the waste management was conducted. The results showed that municipalities have substantial reserves in reducing the amount of waste going to landfill and also in the practical use of waste sorting. Obstacles to waste sorting of households in Southern Bohemia

Waste sorting and recycling has come to the fore in the last decades in all European countries. The main reason is a necessity to reduce the total amount of waste landfilled without further use. The aim of waste management is to reduce formation of waste and handling with waste for its maximum utilization as a raw material and minimal encroachment to environment. This bachelor's work deals the waste sorting of household and an obstacles in waste separation in households. The work is divided into two main parts. The first, theoretical part, contains a summary of information about the history of waste management and legislation from the European Union level to the regional and municipal planning of waste management and waste management of waste producers itself. The practical part of this work examines through a questionnaire survey the attitudes of the population to waste sorting and influences that may encourage waste sorting or conversely hinder from it. The results demonstrated that the majority of population understands the importance of waste separation and recycling. On the other hand, there is a scope for raising awareness about the usefulness of utilization of recycled materials. Therefore the conclusion summarizes some of the main issues and suggestions for promoting waste separation.

EXTENT OF KNOWLEDGE CONCERNING THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE DRUG MISUSE AS FACTOR INFLUENCING ATTITUDE TO DRUGS

This bachelor´s thesis focuses on finding out the awareness of negative consequences appearing during taking intoxicating and psychotropic substances by young people. The theoretical part of the thesis describes selected particular undesirable effects of the drug taking in all the fields respecting bio-psychosocial model of the personality as it is stated in the professional literature. The main part of the thesis is based on the qualitative research investigation the target of which was finding out the knowledge of the unfavourable impact of addictive substances on the integrity of the personality of man in three groups of respondents. The results of the thesis is the comprehensive mapping of awareness of harmfulness of drugs for the young people and postulating hypotheses based on the comparison of found out awareness of all the examined groups.

Etiology of traumas of the locomotive apparatus sufferd by seniors and requiring acute rescue solution

ETIOLOGY OF TRAUMAS OF THE LOCOMOTIVE APPARATUS SUFFERED BY SENIORS AND REQUIRING ACUTE RESCUE SOLUTION The paper is focused on the research pertaining to injuries of bones, joints and muscles suffered by the senior population. The subject of the research was the injuries occurred in the past five years that were attended to by the medical rescue service. The theoretical part is focused on description of pathophysiological changes of the skeletal and the muscle system that take place at old age, and defines the basic health risk factors and further effects that may lead to injuries. The objective of the empiric part was collection of the information on whose basis the occurrence and the origin of injuries of the locomotive apparatus suffered by seniors will be defined in relation to the actions of the medical rescue service with respect to sex, and description of the household environment conditions or some other effects (such as alcohol and medicines) on occurrence of injuries of the skeleton system, based on which it will be possible to define the measures and the procedures that may be used to reduce occurrence of these types of injuries. The research was performed in the district of České Budějovice on the surveyed set of 214 informants older than 60 years. The selected set was made out on the basis of quota random selection with respect to sex. The reason for selection of this topic was the increasing proportion of actions of the medical rescue service necessitated by injuries suffered at a higher age, and the growing number of hospitalized seniors.

Cílem práce je zmapovat dosud nepříliš probádanou oblast neziskových organizací a její podskupiny neziskových institucí sloužících domácnostem (NISD). Jde tedy především o analýzu dat ze satelitního účtu neziskových institucí, ale také nástin problémů, které jsou spojeny s jeho zaváděním. Satelitní účet zobrazuje data za neziskové organizace ze všech sektorů národního hospodářství. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První část se zabývá vymezením pojmů neziskové organizace a NISD, dále jsou uvedeny jejich klasifikace a způsoby statistického zjišťování. V druhé části jsou nejprve analyzovány výsledky sektoru NISD, poté také výsledky satelitního účtu neziskových institucí. Ve třetí části bylo provedeno mezinárodní srovnání výsledků neziskových organizací s Belgií, Finskem a Slovenskem. Na závěr jsou pro doplnění uvedeny ještě ukazatele za neziskové organizace z dalších i mimoevropských států.
