Teaching Sex Education in Selected Czech Schools from the Perspective of Pupils and Their Teachers

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of sex education in the context of school education. The theoretical part of the thesis presents a general view into the teaching of sex education with an emphasis on the prevention of risky behaviour of adolescents. The main aim of the thesis was to map the teaching of sex education in two selected schools. The research methods of data collection were two - a questionnaire survey designed for the selected students (101 respondents) and an interview for the teachers who teach sex education at the selected schools (two teachers). The results of the survey reflect the respondents' experiences of teaching sex education in these schools, their personal views and suggestions, which were used to develop recommendations for practice. In both selected schools, the teaching of sex education is included only towards the end of compulsory schooling. At the selected primary school, its topics are taught in the subject of science, at the selected secondary school in the subject of "civic education". 85.7 % of the respondents of the selected primary school stated that they were divided into groups according to gender during sex education, while 84.4 % of the respondents of the selected secondary school stated that they were not divided. The students knowledge of the medical high school in the area of prevention and first aid for a stroke

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of stroke, specifically what the knowledge of chosen nursing school students in this important part of neurological field is. Theoretical part of the thesis includes basic knowledge about this illness, gained from studying professional sources. Practical part is worked out on the basis of survey, that took place in chosen nursing school. The aim was to evaluate the level of chosen school students ́ knowledge about the stroke issue, focused particularly on the recognition of the symptoms of stroke, first aid provision and the knowledge of stroke risk factors and prevention. Finding out, if the grade level of chosen nursing school students has effect on their knowledge in this field, was the another aim. Answers of 102 responders were evaluated and specific steps based on the result of the survey were formulated. It will lead to increased awareness and earned knowledge specification of stroke issue among chosen nursing school students. Diploma thesis Specific needs of a child with diabetes mellitus type 1 at the 1st grade of primary schools is divided into two main parts. The theoretical part deals with diabetes mellitus, its definition and classification. Next, it deals with the chronic disease of type 1 diabetes mellitus, a brief history, basic concepts associated with the disease, epidemiology, symptomatology and others. The core parts are specifics related to diabetes in children, that is followed by the practical part, whose main aim is to identify the specific needs of children with diabetes attending the first grade of selected primary schools. The information from the interviews with parents, pedagogical staff and children with type 1 diabetes mellitus was used in the research. These information aimed to determine parents' satisfaction with the approach of the school, to determine teachers'current knowledge and concerns when educating a pupil with type 1 diabetes mellitus, and then to determine the needs and satisfaction of children with diabetes during their school attendance. My final thesis deals with the the topic of awareness of selected respondents aged 18 - 35 years about good oral hygiene in a selected dental office. In the theoretical part of the thesis, a brief overview of dental anatomy and it's general characteristics are presented. Furthermore, the anatomy of the dentition is expanded by a brief anatomy of the periodontium. This is followed by selected oral diseases that are most commonly encountered. Dentistry as a separate discipline also encounters the myths and superstitions that are prevalent in society and at the same time the different types of prevetion - primary, secondary and tertiar - are completely related to them. The different types of prevention reflect the areas that we classify among them. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is an attempt to assess the level of knowledge and awareness of the selected respondents in a particular dental practice. The information required for the practical part of the bachelor thesis was obtained by means of questionnaire survey. The results of this research can be found in the second part of bachelor thesis. The effect of running on physical and mental health

The bachelor thesis entitled The effect of running on physical and mental health is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the thesis includes a definition of running including its effects on the human body, as well as a brief characterization of the muscular and skeletal system of the human body. It also includes health, motivation, stress, obesity and running injuries. The practical part contains the results of a qualitative investigation using interviews with selected adult respondents who are regular runners. The main aim of the work is to find out what effect running has on a person's health according to the respondents interviewed. The sub-objectives are to find out what effect running has on a person's physical health according to the respondents, then to find out what effect running has on a person's mental health according to the respondents, and then to find out and compare differences in running based on age among the selected respondents. Based on the above investigation, it was found that running has many positive and negative effects on a person's health. Employment influence of selected PedF UK students during their full-time university studies

The thesis deals with the issue of the impact of employment on the studies of full-time students at the Faculty of Education, Charles University. The theoretical part of the introduction describes the development of tertiary education and the field of pedagogical disciplines, the issues related to balancing study and work life, the reasons why not only full-time students opt for employment, and finally, how this affects their studies and related activities. The practical part of the thesis presents the results of a quantitative research study, which was conducted through an anonymous online questionnaire involving 160 respondents who met the given conditions (full-time study, 2nd or higher year at the Faculty of Education, Charles University). The main research objective was to determine the impact of employment intensity and compatibility on the studies of full-time university students at the Faculty of Education, Charles University. The results showed that 148 respondents were employed during their studies, of which 96 worked in a compatible job. These respondents who worked during their studies were not significantly affected by the intensity of their employment on the number of hours spent studying and self-studying, unlike respondents who had incompatible employment. The bachelor's thesis deals with snacks of secondary school pupils. The research problem is the difference between recommended healthy snacks and their real eating habits. The aim of the practical part is to evaluate the eating habits of pupils aged between 11 and 15 years during breaks. Find out what the children are bringing for their snacks, what they are really eating and who is preparing their snacks. Then compare the types of food in a school snack, whether it is sweet or salty and theirs drinking habits. Quantitative research was conducted to obtain the necessary research data. The research was carried out at a selected elementary school by way of an anonymous questionnaire survey in paper form. The research involved 135 respondents, out of that 130 questionnaires were used. Gathered sample consisted of 53.1% women and 46.9% men. Almost all of respondents bring a snack to school every day, 2 respondents never bring one and others occasionally. Most often they bring a snack so that they are not hungry at school, because they are hungry or so that they can eat. The most common snack is buttered bread, with fruit and/or vegetables, the second most common snack is buttered bread with fruit and/or vegetables and biscuits and/or sweets. Information of selected women in the reproducive period about the possibilities of family planning, pregnancy and childbirth in the selected region

The thesis deals with the issues of family planning, pregnancy and birth. The theoretical subsections focus on family planning, contraception, birth and puerperium. The practical part of the thesis is a survey that was carried out among the women in a specific region who have not yet given birth. The main goal of thesis was to determine the awareness of women in the reproductive period about the options of family planning, pregnancy and childbirth. The most common sources of information concerning reproduction were investigated, as well as the awareness of the types of contraception that can cause temporary inability to conceive after discontinuation. Furthermore, the aim was to investigate whether the female respondents are well informed about prenatal examinations, childbirth and the puerperium. The results of the practical part show that the women are sufficiently informed about reproductive issues. A total of 61,5 % of female respondents were able to correctly answer the questions regarding their knowledge. School, family and internet were listed as the essential information resources by the respondents.
