Injury during provision nursing care

When performing nursing care, injuries can ocur that can end anger the health of health care professionals. These injuries include not only injuries with a sharp object, which also brings the risk of infectious diseases, but also back pain wich is caused by heavy physical exertion. The aim was to determine the number of stab wounds and cuts injuries and the useing of protective equipment. The next aim was to find out how often is common the back pain to medical staff and the interest about training in the prevention of back pain. The questionnaire survey was conducted at the University Hospital in Motol and at the Thomayer Hospital in the Department of Geriatrics and Aftercare and pulomonary ,internal and neurology departments, and the target group of respondents were general and practical nurses and paramedics. A total of 429 questionnaires were entered. 235 completed questionnaires were included in the study it self Results: It was found out that in the last year there were a total of 79 stab wounds or cuts. The most common circumstances of a sharp object injury were the disposal of sharp objects, the respondents most often chose the answer "after the procedure" and the third most common circumstance was the preparation of the work aids. The shift work like one those factors which affect nurser's and paramedics's the quality of life who work in intensive care of hospital facility

The aim of this bachelor thesis: Shift operation as one of the factors influencing the quality of life of nurses and paramedics working in intensive care in a healthcare facility was to find out whether and to what extent shift performance affects the quality of sleep respondents and how the mentioned quality of sleep reflected in the overall quality of life of the survey participants. The bachelor thesis has a traditional structure. The theoretical part of the thesis contains a selection of knowledge related to the solved issue. Brief attention is paid to biorhythms, sleep, characteristics of shift operation, workload, stress, fatigue, etc. In the empirical part of the bachelor thesis are presented information about their own research and its main results. The survey was carried out in the form of a questionnaire (the questionnaire consisted of three standardized questionnaires supplemented by anamnestic social demographic data of the respondents). Questionnaires were submitted in three Prague hospitals. The sample examined had 114 respondents. The results of the survey are presented in large tabular overviews supplemented by commentary. Impact of having a child with autism on health and quality of life

This bachelor dissertation with the name "Impact of having a child with autism on health and quality of life" is divided into the theoretical and the empirical part. The theoretical part contains 3 mains chapters which give a brief overview of basic knowlege in autism and quality of life.This part of the bachelor dissertation is based on already published sources related to this subject. The empirical part describes the methodology and organization of the survey which was realized with structured questionnaire SQUALA and other supplementary questions. The survey itself provided information on assessing the importance and assessment of the satisfaction of individual areas of quality of life of parents caring for an autistic child. At the end of the thesis, there are summarized the most important findings resulting from the survey and evaluated objectives of the dissertation.
Violence and aggression in healthcare professionals with a focus on workplace of acute psychiatric care

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to provide basic information on aggressiveness at selected workplaces of Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital. In the framework of this work, a questionnaire was submitted to 194 respondents performing general nurses or health care professions, acute care departments and subsequent psychiatric, anti-toxic and gerontopsychiatric care. The investigation took place during December 2016 and January 2017. The main results showed that respondents from PN Bohnice encounter high frequencies with aggressive patients, i.e. daily or weekly in 60% of cases. Most respondents (92%) encountered verbal and physical aggression. The most common kind of physical aggression is the destruction of property (52%), the assault of a health care professional (40%) and self-harm (39%). The most common type of aggressor is male (50%) and female (44%), less frequent visits and the patient's family (3%). For men, physical aggression is higher than for women by more than 13%. According to medical professionals, the most common cause of aggression is the disease (67%), fear and anxiety (32%), and the third is environment (27%). Physicians deal with conflicting situations most often by appointment (97%), and secondly in cooperation with other health workers, i.e. they call service (55%) or doctor (44%)....
History of the Congregation of Sister of Mercy of St. Boromeo and of its actvities in the territory of Prague

It is a historically descriptive bachelor thesis, which briefly describes the history of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo. The paper documents the establishment of the Congregation in the 17th century in France, the arrival of the first nuns to the Czech lands and first years of their work in our country. Elaborately is described the origin and development of the Hospital of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo and of the first motherhouse of the Congregation in Bohemia which was once an integral part of the hospital. Equally thoroughly pay thesis attention to the monastery in Praha 6 - Řepy, which was also founded by the Congregation and where used to be an orphanage, a prison for women and an institute for oligofrenics. Vividly portrayed are the activities of the Congregation during the Second World War and its destiny after the communist takeover in 1948. For completeness is also mentioned history after the 1989 and current activities of nuns in the Czech Republic. At the end of the paper is described the functioning of the nursing school run by the Congregation during the time period from 1939 to1952. For better context is this chapter preceded by a description of the history of nursing education in the Czech from the 19th to mid-20th century.
