Matějovský, Ondřej ; Halama, Ota (advisor) ; Baťa, Jan (referee)
This bachelor's work named Liturgics texts by Tobiáš Závorka Lipenský about the marriage deals with select parts of Závorka's hymn book called Songs of Divine Praise (Písně chval Božských) and the paperwork called The rule easement ecclesiastical (Pravidlo služebností církevních). Select parts talking about the marriage are transcribed from these sources. In the introduction of this work there is the curiculum vitae and the description of the work of Tobiáš Závorka Lipenský, liturgic clergyman, later dean of the region of Doubravník, who lived between 1553 and 1612 in the region of Olomouc. In the second part of the work there are Závorka's liturgic texts compared with particular parallelly used paperworks and hymn book. It presents Závorka's work in the context of the liturgic prints of the second middle of the sixteenth and the begining of the seventeenth century.
Protestant congregations and Spiritualism in Podkrkonoší
Kletvík, Jan ; Halama, Ota (advisor) ; Rejchrtová, Noemi (referee)
After 1781 there were established several Protestant congregations in Podkrkonoší (North-East Bohemia). Approximately one hundred years later, the whole region was greatly affected by Spiritualism, a belief in communication with spirits of the dead through mediums. My objective is to describe the attitudes of the Protestant congregations in Podkrkonoší towards Spiritualism and analyse their causes and effects. Understanding these attitudes will yield an insight into the character of the present congregations. For this purpose, I studied the congregations in Libštát, Křížlice, and Jičín. In particular I focused on their parish priests because they had the control over their flock in these questions. I went through the archival materials of the respective congregations as well as personal diaries, and I analysed the memories of several interviewed people. These findings were then compared with the attitudes of some congregations in Great Britain. The results revealed three different approaches of the priests. Some were very radical, which led to excommunication of Spiritualists. Others were rather tolerant, which resulted in integration of Spiritualists. Finally, some priests were quite secretive, so their parishioners may not have seen a clear line between Spiritualism and Christianity.
Protestants in Libštát (1783-1945)
Kletvík, Jan ; Foltýn, Dušan (advisor) ; Halama, Ota (referee)
There had been three different churches in Libštát for many years. This dissertation is covering the history of the Reformed church and the history of the Lutheran church. The group that had registered under the Reformed church after the issue of the Patent of the Tolerance was larger. Therefore, they were faster in getting their own minister. It was Jan Csomor, who came in 1783. They also managed to build their own church, which was consecrated in 1787. However, the Lutheran church was smaller in numbers, so they could not establish their independent church, thus they became a part of the church family with the seat in a remote village called Křížlice. They also did not manage to get the permission to build their own church, so they had been existentially struggling for quite a long time. In the end, they succeeded and built their own church in 1842. After that, they achieved independence from Křížlice in 1867 and got their first minister the very next year. The history of the whole community allows us to study the relations between the two churches and their following union in 1918. The last third of the 19th century seems to play the key role in the convergence of the two churches. The Reformed minister, Emanuel Havelka, and the Lutheran minister, Petr Marušiak, have probably played a crucial role in...
Prolegomena to the finding of ekklesiological inspirations in the life and work of Tomáš Bavorovský (+1562)
Havrlant, Jaroslav ; Pospíšil, Ctirad Václav (referee) ; Halama, Ota (referee)
Prolegomena to Search for Ecclesiological Inspirations in the Life and Work of Tomáš Bavorovský († 1562) Jaroslav Havrlant Tomáš Bavorovský, a Czech preacher and writer is still a quite unknown personality of the Bohemian renaissance. In my thesis I try to make a research of his ecclesiological attitudes. Thesis are divided into three parts. The first, universal part put the reader into very a difficult religion-political situation in west and south Bohemia in the first half of the 16th century. The aim of the second part is to tell more about personality of the preacher and in the last one I concentrate on his life work. The first part describes specific situation of Bohemian reformation, which was different from neighboring countries due to its Hussite tradition and Utracvistic church. German reformation was at first more quickly spread among Catholics than Utracvists in Bohemia. Special attention is paid to church government, educational system, book printing as well as censorship. Tomáš Bavorovský worked mostly in Catholic towns of south Bohemia and in Plzeň. Therefore, a short description of their religious history follows. The longest chapter is devoted to the relation between Bohemian countries and Erasmus Rotterdam, who takes very progressive opinions but he did not join to reformation. The...
The Concept of Baptism by Jan Bechyňka in the Traktát o viděních a pokušeních zbožného mládence (Tractate of Visions and Temptations of Devout Youth) and in the Treatise O křtu zvonu (On baptism of the Bell).
Beranová, Bohumila ; Rejchrtová, Noemi (advisor) ; Halama, Ota (referee)
The thesis deals with conception of baptism by utraquist priest Jan Bechyňka. At first the figure of the peculiar writer and theologian after being introduced is integrated into historical connections of the jagellonian era. The chapters that follow aim at the particular topic. Bechyňka ́s view of pedobaptism drawn from a long passage about commitment of baptism from his Traktát o viděních a pokušeních zbožného mládence [The Tractate on Visions and Temptations of Devout Youth] is compared with pedobaptism in Chelčický ́s Zprávy o svátostech [Reports of Sacraments] and with baptism in general of another Chečický ́s work - Rozpravy [Disccusions] in Parisian manuscript. At first I had intended finding out paralles between mentioned thinkers, however certain differences have appeared as well, not in essential facts. In the case of Bechyňka ́s tractate O křtu zvonu [On Baptism of the Bell] I give an interpretation to it in the concrete. The last chapter deals with utraquist baptismal praxis in the early modern times and in the present day and in general describes baptismal rites of these times. As a apendix I add Bechyňka ́s tractate O křtu zvonu [On Baptism of the Bell] with a commentary and transcriptional notes. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

England's first exiles because of faith
Železník, Benjamin ; Wernisch, Martin (advisor) ; Halama, Ota (referee)
The Beginning of Tolerant Churches
Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
