Interpretive principles in Verdi's operas

The master’s thesis deals with the theme creation of the opera production of Giuseppe Verdi with the focus on his opera Falstaff and deals with significant important interpretations of this opera. This dissertation is supposed to bring a complete picture of Verdi’s opera production pointing out some details which are not commonly known nor from the public nor in the professional music world. What appears in this work is Verdi’s correspondence (letters). I consider these letters an authentic source to understand Verdi’s creative and artistic intentions. Hereafter I portray an idea of how to perceive opera Falstaff not only from my point of view but I used the lead from the Italian reviews and musicology.

Effective study of musical piece

This bachelor´s thesis is targeted on finding the most effective way of working on a musical piece. It aims especially on the work of an opera singer, however, the author is operating with knowledge acquired by studying also two other classical specializations - piano and conducting. By combining of these three musical departments, this thesis tries to find the fastest and concurrently the most precise way of how to prepare a musical piece in the best possible quality. This thesis also deals with the issue of public performace, the question of stage fright and how to deal with it.

LA TRAVIATA ON THE WORLD TOUR WITHIN THE LAST 100 YEARS

The diploma work is focused on analysis of particular stagings of Verdi´s La traviata that have been assessed independently, without being influenced by other sources (reviews), on the basis ov videorecordings of life performances. These opera performances are compared from singer´s, director´s and staging point of view. All opera versions are sorted out into various parts according to common aspects and then are analysed.
A brief description of Verdi´s work compiled chronologically as well as a historical portfolio of the opera La traviata (its first night both in Venice and in our country) are included.

First, the thesis discusses her life – starting with her childhood, over the first steps of her career till the end of her career of a singer. Further mentioned are her most important colleagues, who somehow influenced her life. The thesis examines her personality and voice. Finally, the thesis mentions her teachers.

OPERA IN AZERBAIJAN

The theme of this Master thesis is the Opera in Azerbaijan. It come out of my Bachelor thesis. The work divided into the following chapters: Uzeir Hadžibejov biography, Uzeir Hadžibejov and Azerbaijani opera, Epos „Köroğlu“ and the genre of opera, Synopsis of the opera, Formal content of the opera, Musical forms in „Köroğlu“.
In the first chapter I write about one of the representatives highlights from operatic works in Azerbaijan – Uzeir Hadžibejov. In the second chapter I talk about the influence of the hard-working genius to Azerbaijan opera. In the next chapters I analyze the most valuable works in the history of Azerbaijan – opera „Köroğlu“. As an attachment I attach a CD with musical examples.

Interpretation of the lead role in the musical comedy "Poslední růže pro Casanovu"

In my bachelors' thesis, I've tried to capture my artistic views as a performer. I outline Casanova's life as an adventurer, lover, literary figure, and philosopher. One of the most important subjects of the thesis is Casanova's stay in the Czech lands and his meeting with the librettist Da Ponte and the composer W. A. Mozart. In addition, I introduce my artistic views on the role itself, my views on the interpretational decisions of the playwright, and my work with the texts and arias.

Importance of the reform of Richard Wagner´s opera for further generation

This thesis focuses on the personality of Richard Wagner, on his music and opera reform. After getting acquainted with biographical of the artist this thesis deals with the various stages of formation and development of the artist this thesis deals with the various stages of formation and development of the music festival and the Festspielhaus in Bayreuth.An integral part of this thesis is the inclusion of all sources of inspiration that led Wagner to the reform - from colleagues, composers, formal musical structures inspiration to drama and mythology. The main emphasis inthis thesis is given to the reform itself. This reform is closely related to the theoretical works of Richard Wagner, and is subsequently applied in his operas, which are in this thesis analyzed in detail. Furthemore, the focuses on the number of composers, who were influenced and ispired by the reform of Richard Wagner and who applied this reform in their operas and instrumental works. The conclusion of the thesis is a summary of contribution of the Wagner´s opera reform.

The phenomenon named Pavarotti

In my bachelor work I was trying to find out why Luciano Pavarotti was so important in the process of popularization of classical music and opera singing itself. I was focusing mainly on one aspect in career of Luciano Pavarotti, which was combination of classical music (which is being performed mostly in opera houses for educated audience) with the folk and pop music with wide range of audience. I am writing in detail about Luciano´s character and his typical traits, which helped him to attract the masses with his performances and to get a huge number of fans. I am also analyzing very important role of his promoter Herbert Breslin, who helped him to become a world famous singer.
