Characteristics of gels used in the fluids engineering
Hudák, Igor ; Habán, Vladimír (referee) ; Fialová, Simona (advisor)
Not only in common life, but also in the technical area the usage of gels presents some kind of standard. Gels offer a unique possibility of usage in numerous areas. The gel structure itself is a very interesting material however it’s hard to specify its characteristics. The gel system presents a huge macromolecular network which enables to observe its different characteristics in comparison to other materials. In some circumstances gels act almost as conventional materials, in other circumstances, however, they act significantly otherwise. Therefore this bachelor thesis deals with a description and summarization of single characteristics of gels in chosen branches of the mechanical engineering industry where gels are used on a daily basis, such as sealant of pipeline systems, wires or electronic components. The thesis also describes principles of gel formation, with the emphasis to building of gel substance and with respect to its mechanical and physical features. In the end, the thesis gives a comparison of chosen characteristics of gels that are used as sealants and gels that are used for encapsulation of electrical set.

Waterjet cutting of material
Veselý, Radek ; Foldyna, Josef (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes principles of utilization of high-speed liquid jet for material machining. In the first part, basic classification of liquid jets and brief description of devices for generating high pressure liquid is presented. Next, using of continuous jets is discussed. Main scope of this work is oriented at the use of so-called pulsed jets, especially at ultrasonically modulated ones. Break-up of ultrasonically modulated high-speed pulsed jet into single pulses, impact of such pulse on the surface of disintegrated material and subsequent erosion in the impact area are described. The comparison of efficiency of modulated and continual water jets is summarized in the last part of the thesis.
Computation of compression force on surface
Stejskal, Jiří ; Habán, Vladimír (referee) ; Čermák, Libor (advisor)
In technical computing we often need to find the resulting load on surface caused by the compression force. The aim of this thesis is to suggest one of the possible approaches to do so if the surface is given explicitly or by the coordinates of some of it's points. In the first section, the mathematical definition of the surface with some of it's important properties is mentioned. There is a basic theory of Bézier surfaces, which form the main part of this thesis in the second part. Further on, some results from the theory of surface integrals are mentioned. The last section describes the whole algorithm of computing the resulting load together with the MATLAB program which is added to this thesis. Three examples are given at the end.

The project monitoring the growth of tagged two-season-old common carp (K2) being stocked into the selected reservoirs managed by the Moravian Angler Association was initiated in 2001 in the reservoir of Nové Mlýny. Few other reservoirs, namely the Dalešická, Brněnská, Vranovská and Letovická, were then also studied in course of the following period up today. The altitude of investigated reservoirs ranges 171-382 m a.s.l., the flooded area of water bodies 104-1600 hectares. The stocking series in every of reservoirs were performed in the course of subsequent five years and two thousands of tagged carps (K2) were always yearly stocked in every of reservoirs. In total, 50 335 (17.61 inds per hectare) tagged carps have been stocked and 1361 individuals (0.48 inds per hectare) were recaptured and reported by the anglers. The mean recapture rate of tagged fish reached thus 2.70 % (1.02 - 4.74 %). A significant negative relationship was also ascertained of altitude (in m a.s.l.) and growth indices. The maximum growth rate was found in the Novomlýnská reservoir (mean annual weight increment 1725 g). Gradually lower weight increments were found out in the Vranovská reservoir (1064 - 1200 g), Dalešická R. (1050 g), Brněnská R. (1070 g) and Letovická R. (630 g). A similar sequence existed also in growth of other parameters studied, i.e. total length (TL), specific growth rate (SGR), and weight condition expressed by means of the Fulton condition factor (FCF). On the basis of these results, some new, more convenient, rules were suggested for stocking of common carp.
Spatio-temporal distribution of catches, growth and length-weight relationship of tagged common carp (Cyprinus carpio) in the fishing ground MRS Dyje 5, Novomlýnská reservoir, and in the related fishing grounds
Prokeš, Miroslav ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Mareš, J. ; Habán, V. ; Peňáz, Milan
On the basis of spatio-temporal analyses of recaptured tagged common carp, the local movements (migrations), growth and length-weight parameters were monitored in the Novomlýnská reservoir. Generally, 28 % of fish migrated upstream within the distance of 28.9 km, 19 % of tagged recaptured fish migrated in downstream direction up to a distance of 30.5 km and 53 % of the studied fishs were stationary in the Novomlýnská reservoir. The highest migration activity was ascertained during the 1st and 2nd year after stocking. The recapture rate of the overall 10.000 stocked fish, was only 1 %. Already 12 months after stocking, the mean total length (TL) of recaptured fish reached 465 mm, weight (w) 2200 g and Fulton´s condition factor (FWCF) 2.45.
Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) growth and distribution in the Brno and Dalešice reservoirs
Prokeš, Miroslav ; Mareš, J. ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Habán, V. ; Peňáz, Milan
The study of growth and distribution parameters in tagged carp (Cyprinus carpio) from the canyon-shaped dam reservoirs (Brno and Dalešice) was performed. Altogether, 59 (1.5%) and 274 (4.6%) individuals from the Brno and Dalešice reservoirs, respectively, were re-captured and documented (by anglers) from originally 4000 and 6000 tagged fish released. The growth performance of tagged fish (two-year-old carp K2) was only moderate during the first year after stocking in the Brno reservoir (for time span d0-d360 it corresponds to TL = 304-384 mm, w = 497-1170 g, and SGR = 0.2378 %.d-1), very similar to that in the Dalešice reservoir (d0-d360 TL= 301-386 mm, w = 510-1215 g and SGR = 0,2399 %.d-1). The condition parameters (TL:w and FWC) were very similar as well. Different distributional patterns of the catches were however recorded. The growth performance of carp in the Brno reservoir was lower than expected on the basis of its altitude and mean annual water temperature.
The individual growth of carp (Cyprinus carpio f. domestica) in two different water reservoirs in drainage area of Morava (CR) the first year after stocking
Habán, V. ; Prokeš, Miroslav ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Mareš, J. ; Peňáz, Milan
The growth rate of tagged carps has been studied in two different man-made lakes, namely a shallow reservoir Novomlýnská and the deep reservoir Dalešická over one year after stocking of the two-year-old stockfish. Ten thousands of tagged individuals were released into the Novomlýnská reservoir while 4000 ones into the Dalešická reservoir. The body mass of carps found after one year rearing in the Novomlýnská reservoir (TL=46.4 cm, w=2.26 kg) was twice greater than obtained in the Dalešická reservoir (TL=37.0 cm, w=1.08 kg). Significant differences were stated in all followed parameters. The growth rate registered in the carp from Novomlýnská reservoir resembles that existing normally in pond culture whereas growth rate of carps stocked into the Dalešická reservoir was similar as in carps from running waters.
Individual growth and weight condition of the common carp (Cyprinus carpio m. domestica) in the Nové Mlýny Reservoir (preliminary results)
Habán, V. ; Prokeš, Miroslav ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Mareš, J.
Individual tagging of the carp (C. carpio f. domestica) 2-year stockfish (K2) was initiated in 2001. In total, 10 thousands specimens were so far tagged with the anchor plastic tags and released into the Nové Mlýny Reservoir on the River Dyje in 2001-2005. According to the 36 registered recaptures (in 2004), the carp reached in the third year of life after 11-12 months exposition in the reservoir (D 316-317, mean 345.3), a body mass of 1500-3900 g (mean = 2264.4+-802.6 g) and a total length of 420-530 mm (mean = 464+-33 mm). These values reveal high trophic sources existing in the Nové Mlýny Reservoir being filled in 1988. When compared with similar data from fishponds of the Czech and Slovak Republics, the growth rate observed showed to be similar or even higher.
