Possibilities of influencing selected areas of children psychomotor development by neuro-developmental therapy

The diploma thesis is focused on the concept of the psychomotor development in context of remaining primary reflexes in children. The author draws on the knowledge of developmental psychology and neurophysiology that some of developmentally earlier stages must under optimal circumstances and maturation of a child disappear and be replaced by ontogenetically newer forms. Research confirms continuity of persistent primary reflexes, psychomotor development and learning and behavioral problems. The thesis aims to investigate whether inhibition of primary reflexes using Neuro-developmental therapy improves the condition of children with delayed psychomotor development, including their school grades. The author in the introductory chapters focusses on normal psychomotor development of children, in particular gross motor skills, fine motor skills, sensory skills, including proprioception and kinesthesia and their importance for learning ability in school age. The next part of the thesis is focused on particular primary reflexes and their impact on psychomotor development. Stimulation of People with Physical and Multiple Disabilities - the Use of the Snoezelen/MSE Therapy

This master's thesis is focused on the Snoezelen concept used for patients with physical or multiple disabilities. The Snoezelen concept can be applied as a therapy, an auxiliary educational method or possibility to spend free time in various facilities like schools, school facilities, rehabilitation centers or retirement homes. For that reason, Snoezelen concept can be used by many clients and professionals. However, it is mostly used for patients with mental deficiency; that is reflected in the majority of researches. Therefore, patients with physical and combined deficiency were chosen for purpose of this Master's thesis as this issue has not been yet examined enough. The Master's thesis aim is to gather relevant information of the Snoezelen concept and to make quantitative research with a questionnaire that determines rate of using the concept, awareness level and attitude of clients with physical and multiple disabilities, their representatives and professionals. From these data, a summary is created for that issue. A very low awareness level was found in clients with physical and multiple disabilities, their representatives and professionals. Specific of the school education for pupils with mild mental disability in the physical education classes with the choice to implement yoga elements

The thesis focuses on the issue of education of pupils with the slight mental disabilities in physical education classes, taking into account the possibility to implement elements of yoga and relaxation and its later influence on the pupils. In the theoretical section, the goal is to analyze the groundwork of term base for the quantitative research, examine the expression of a light mental disability, and engage with the physical education and concepts of yoga and relaxation. The empirical section focuses on development of the methodical resources for the teacher and subsequent assessment in the elementary school's enviroment. Education of kids with different language in kindergarten from teacher's point of view

Thesis deals with different difficulties of education of children with different language in kindergarten. The aim is to find out and describe opinions and attitudes of teachers in kindergartens, which influences the education of this particular group of children. Theoretical part is the basis for established targets. It describes the principles and policies of preschool education, heterogeneity in inclusive education. Attention is paid to legislative support for the education of foreigners in Czech Republic and changes in the legislation education of children with special educational needs.The practical part analyzes informations obtained from the questionnaires conducted among kindergarten teachers with the experience of teaching children with different mother tongues. Questionnaire survey is focused on the education part for supporting measures, cooperation with other entities, cooperation with family and methodological support of the teachers. Life of Family with a Child with the Toriello-Carey Syndrome

TITLE: Life of Family with a Child with the Toriello-Carey Syndrome AUTHOR: Bc. Ivana Valuchová DEPARTMENT: Department of Special Pedagogy SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Monika Mužáková, PhD. ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with the family of a child with a disease of rare Toriello-Carey syndrome. This is an isolated case of this disease in Europe. The main objective of the thesis is to process of complex information relating to disease of Toriello-Carey syndrome and to determine impacts of the syndrome on the quality of life of individuals and their families. The thesis is divided to theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part contains three chapters. The first theoretical chapter (Introduction) is devoted to detail syndrome- its etiology, symptoms, context, history, clinical assessment, treatment and prognosis. Other theoretical chapters describe a family with a child with disabilities and specifics of families with rare diseases. The empirical part of the thesis is focused on a research and mapping the life of the family of a child with Toriello-Carey syndrome by analyzing the documents and semi-structured interview with the parents and an active observation boy. Use of occupational therapy in special education

This dissertation focuses on the issue of combination of two occupations, occupational therapy and special education. Firstly, there is a detailed description of occupational therapy, its aims, division etc. Then it explores comprehensive rehabilitation in which these two branches blend most frequently. There is a description of the cooperation of an occupational therapist and a special educationalist and a description of applied occupational therapy in selected areas and of selected diagnoses. The selected areas are put together according to the subdisciplines of special education. The diagnoses are determined on the basis of the most common cooperation of both occupations. The main aim of the dissertation is the analysis of the possibilities of cooperation and its use in practice. There is also evaluation of questionnaires which were made for the purpose of this dissertation. The respondents were occupational therapists and special educationalists and their answers mirror the real position of both branches in practice. The result of the survey is lack of cooperation which should be improved in the future in order to enhance the quality of therapeutic treatment.
