Mozolová, Michaela ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Foltýn, Dušan (referee)
The diploma thesis Piarists and Lipník (1634-1884) - religious clerics and their influence on the city deals with the order of Piarists from their arrival in Lipník in 1634 until their departure in 1884. The introductory part presents the city of Lipník nad Bečvou, to which the order of Piarists was called . Many historical events took place in Lipník nad Bečvou, which ultimately led to the important step of calling the order of Piarists. In the next part, the diploma thesis discusses the Piarist order, its beginnings, structure and important personalities, describes the college, the church and the novitiate, which was part of the monastery house. I also support the information with foundation documents or other sources. I tried to outline how we remember Piarists nowadays. The thesis also includes a comparison of photos of the church and the dormitory from the 20th and 21st centuries. We have also preserved accounts and protocols for the rebuilding of the church, everything is part of my work. In the diploma thesis, you will also find a description of the events held in the last 20 years, which have a connection to the past of the order. I dedicate the second half of the work to Piarist education. I substantiate this, among other things, with the memories of two students of J. G. Mendel and F....
Life and business of Jindřich Fišer and his descendants
Kreuz, Vojtěch ; Pokorná, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Foltýn, Dušan (referee)
This work is about Jindřich Fišer, but also about several of his descendants, who in their lives devoted themselves mainly to the operation of various gastronomic enterprises in the ter- ritory of the capital city of Prague. In writing the work I based mainly on various archival ma- terials, which are stored in the Archives of the capital city of Prague, the National Archives or in the State Regional Archives in Prague. However, I was also supported by newspaper articles or materials from the private archives of living persons. In addition to the already mentioned Jindřich Fišer, who operated a brewery in Přerov nad Labem at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the text focuses on the life stories of two of his sons - Václav, who between the years 1938 and 1948 operated with his son Zdeněk the Café Slavia near the National Theatre, and Jindřich, who connected his life with a bar of not very good reputation in the Old Town Square. Part of the second chapter is also devoted to the business activities of one of Jindřich's grandsons, Jaroslav Fišer, and his confectionery in Hy- bernská Street in the New Town of Prague. However, in addition to the life stories of the men- tioned persons, the work also tries to capture legal issues related to business during the First Czechoslovak Republic or the...

The Beginnings of horse racing in Pardubice Region in the context of political and social history
Johanovská, Isabela ; Foltýn, Dušan (advisor) ; Kales, Josef (referee)
In the minds of many people, steeplechase is inextricably linked with Pardubice, just like the famous Velká pardubická, which retains its unique charm even now. However, the way leading to the first Velká pardubická steeplechase was extremely difficult, and it almost looked that the toughest continental European steeplechase race will remain just a dream. This diploma thesis deals with the mapping of the beginnings of horse racing in Pardubice Region during the time of the Austrian Empire and Austria-Hungary and primarily aims to examine the influence of the nobility of that time on the emergence of horse racing in the given region and on its importance from a social and political point of view. Using the analytic-synthetic method and the study of historical sources, it was possible to confirm that the aristocracy played an essential role in the beginnings of horse racing in Pardubice Region, with the most important noble houses of Auersperg and Kinsky who first organized fox hunting, the predecessors of steeplechase crosscountry, and then they gradually started organizing steeplechase races. The main source of inspiration for them was the cradle of horse racing, Great Britain, and the Grand National in Liverpool. It turns out that horse racing was very significant for Pardubice Region both from...
