Renewable energy sources in CR
Kamenský, Petr ; Borbély, Richard (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
This work concerns with the classification of renewable sources of energy and their comparison with other sources of energy. It names and characterizes sources of sun, water, wind, geothermal energy and biomass, thus energy produced from renewable sources. It describes utilization of these sources in Czech Republic. The next part concerns with legislature and mainly with the law 180/2005. In the end there are introduced other laws and regulations, which are directly related to the production and distribution of electrical energy from renewable sources.

Domestic gas boilers
Haluza, Jakub ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compile the summary of domestic gas boilers, their structure, performance and controls. Then to elaborate the technical-economic comparison of below named methods of heating for the concrete object.
Domestic electricity production from renewable sources
Halamíček, Milan ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The present bachelor thesis describes utilization of renewable resources, which can be used for production of electric energy. It presents three ways, one of them is wind power plant, the second is photovoltaic system and the last one is water power plant. There are suggested two ways of electric energy supply to family houses including economic evaluation.
Bivalent heating systém with an air-water heat pump
Tvrdý, Miloslav ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The work is about bivalent heating system with an air-water heat pump. In the first theoretical part there is described princip, basic partition and possibilities of performance of the heat pumps. There are presented possible secondary sources for bivalent performance, too. In the second part there is processed actual offer of bivalent heating system with an air-water heat pump and there is choosed the optimal solution for heating real family house. There are also presented and confronted possible secondary sources for this solution and there is the confrontation with the others possible heating systems. There is complete economical evaluation in conclusion the work.

The study contents basic characteristic and disputableness of each type of energy resources, potential of the Czech Republic in exploitation of wind energy, description of chosen types of wind power plant and integration of wind energy into Transmission System of the Czech Republic.
Reduction and Oxidation of Hydroxyquinolines in Acetonitrile and Dimethylsulfoxide
Sokolová, Romana ; Ramešová, Šárka ; Fiedler, Jan ; Kolivoška, Viliam ; Degano, I. ; Gál, M. ; Szala, M. ; Nycz, J. E.
This study is focused on investigation of oxidation and reduction pathways of selected hydroxyquinoline compounds in nonaqueous solutions. The experimentally obtained reduction potentials are reported to well correlate with calculated values of LUMO energies as well as the obtained oxidation potentials are in a good agreement with theoretical HOMO energies. The cyclic voltammetry, in situ UV/Vis spectroelectrochemistry and in situ IR spectroelectrochemistry confirmed that the oxidation mechanism is complicated. Oxidation unexpectedly proceeds together with protonation of the starting compound. This behaviour was found for all studied compounds, hydroxyquinoline carboxylic acids and also for compounds, where a methyl group is present instead of carboxylic group.
Electrochemistry of Flavonolignans in Acetonitrile and Dimethylsulfoxide
Sokolová, Romana ; Kocábová, Jana ; Fiedler, Jan ; Vacek, J. ; Marhol, Petr ; Vavříková, Eva ; Křen, Vladimír
This study is focused on investigation of oxidation pathways of silybin and 2,3-dehydrosilybin in nonaqueous solutions. The oxidation mechanism of both flavonolignans differs and depends strongly on their chemical structure. The cyclic voltammetry, UV/Vis and IR spectroelectrochemistry were used for identification of electrooxidation (semiquinone) intermediates. HPLC with diode array detection was applied for identification of oxidation and degradation products. Molecular orbital calculations supported the experimental findings.
