Cutting ceramics and its effective use
Fialová, Kateřina ; Prokop, Jaroslav (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
The diploma work is focused on the ceramic tool materials and its effective use. The introductory part of the work contains the detail characteristic of the ceramic tool materials from the point of view of their dividing, physic-mechanical propertis, production methods and marking. The main part of the work is focused to judging of the ceramic portion at the production assortment of the top World producers of tool materials and to evaluation of cutting ability of the particular materials of these producers. The detail analysis of recommended cutting conditions, which is aimed to an effective use of the ceramic materials, had been worked up for this purpose. The technical economic analysis confirms, that the present effective aplications of ceramic are limited only for specific cases of machining cast irons, steels and alloys.
Creating an Educational Project Financed by the EU Structural Funds
Páleníková Fialová, Kateřina ; Schönová, Vanda (referee) ; Juřica, Pavel (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is preparation of a project application for an educational project subsidized by the European Union. The thesis includes an analysis of the requirements that are necessary for the preparation of the project. The theoretical part of the thesis contains the characteristic of the European structural and investment funds and the project management. In addition, the thesis focuses on the analysis of the grant opportunities provided by the EU and the selection of an appropriate operational program for project application processing.
Risk Management of Grant Projects
Páleníková Fialová, Kateřina ; Hovorka, Martin (referee) ; Juřica, Pavel (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is to carry out a risk analysis and proposals for introducing risk measures in a project from a higher education environment, which is supported by a grant program: Operational Programme Research, Development and Education. The main topic of this thesis is the solution of possible situations that the project team can encounter during the implementation of projects and which can negatively affect the projects.
Information System Selection
Fialová, Kateřina ; Kindlová, Dita (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the selection of an information system and its subsequent implementation in the company. Theoretical background is presented for better understanding of this topic. The issue is solved by processing of selected analyses to identify gaps and problem areas across the whole company. The knowledge gained is used to suggest the change in the context of the system selection issue, which is done through coarse and fine selection, subsequent implementation and evaluation of the benefits of introduced changes.
Advanced removal methods of matter difficult to coagulate during drinking water treatment
Fialová, Kateřina ; Pivokonský, Martin (advisor) ; Mašín, Pavel (referee) ; Brányik, Tomáš (referee)
Nowadays, drinking water treatment (DWT) is becoming more and more challenging due to the increasing anthropogenic pollution as well as due to the impacts of climate change. Water sources commonly comprise a cocktail of undesirable substances, the removal of which by the conventional DWT process based on coagulation/flocculation is often insufficient. This dissertation deals with advanced removal methods, particularly adsorption, usable for difficult to coagulate substances during DWT. Particular emphasis is placed on removing manganese, algal organic matter (AOM), and per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS). Additionally, in the case of emerging anthropogenic pollutants, attention was also paid to their occurrence and interactions in water. As part of the research, a new TiO2-based adsorbent was synthesized for Mn2+ removal. Since the prepared adsorbent showed high Mn2+ removal efficiency in a much wider range of pH values compared to the conventional demanganization method, which requires very high pH values, it could serve as a suitable alternative demanganization method. Regarding the removal of AOM, the influence of solution properties on its adsorption onto different types of granular activated carbon (GAC) was thoroughly investigated. It was found that the efficiency of AOM...
Combination of different drinking water disinfection processes and their impact on the formation of disinfection by-products
Česká, Pavlína ; Načeradská, Jana (advisor) ; Fialová, Kateřina (referee)
Combining disinfection processes with chlorination can alter the formation and resulting spectrum of Disinfection By-Products (DBPs) in drinking water. While considerable attention has been given to DBPs formed during chlorination, DBPs formed during the application of multiple disinfection processes are a significantly less explored group. This study focuses on three most common disinfection combinations: chlorination-UV, UV-secondary chlorination, and ozonation-secondary chlorination. After chlorination, trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAAs) are the most commonly found DBPs in water. The resulting formation of DBPs is influenced by many factors. UV radiation at typical disinfection doses (40-186 mJ.cm-2 ) does not affect the formation of these two groups of compounds after treatment with UV radiation and secondary chlorination. During the advanced oxidation process (AOP) of chlorination-UV, generally more DBPs are formed than during chlorination alone. However, this can be partially minimized by adjusting the appropriate wavelength and pH of the treated water. For waters containing nitrogenous compounds or bromide, combining chlorination with UV radiation and chlorination with ozonation leads to higher formation of hazardous nitrogenous and brominated DBPs compared to chlorination...
Possibilities of perfluorinated organic compounds (PFCs) removal in drinking water treatment plants and their occurrence in drinking water sources in the Czech Republic
Čermáková, Lenka ; Fialová, Kateřina ; Prokopová, Michaela ; Semerád, Jaroslav ; Petříček, Radim ; Pivokonská, Lenka ; Cajthaml, Tomáš ; Pivokonský, Martin
This summary research report was implemented within the project TAČR TJ04000212 program to support applied research ZÉTA „Possibilities of perfluorinated organic compounds (PFCs) removal in drinking water treatment plants and their occurrence in drinking water sources in the Czech Republic“. This report is addressed to water treatment plant operators and serves as a basic material for optimizing the coagulation / flocculation and adsorption process in water treatment. The report explains in detail the issue of removal of perfluorinated organic substances (PFCs) in water treatment, especially the process of adsorption in pilot plant conditions. This report will be used as a theoretical basis for the operation of the water treatment plant in Kutná Hora operated by the Water Management Company Vrchlice - Maleč, a. s.
