The Town book of Pacov from the 1475-1683
Holub, Pavel ; Ebelová, Ivana (advisor) ; Sulitková, Ludmila (referee)
6 Annotation The aim of the thesis is to introduce an urban book of Pacov in term of a diplomatic analysis. This urban book was established from the second half of 15 century to the second half of 17th century. The actual analysis of the registers is introduced by two sub-chapters. The first one is focused on the socio-politico-administrative development of the areas of Pelhřimov and Pacov during the late medieval and early modern period. The environment of Pacov is directly reflected in the section devoted to municipal laws, which aim is to put the content of privileges issued for Pacov to a broader social context. The sub-sections describing the outward signs of the urban book, an analysis of the registers from a diplomatic-content analysis point of view and the urban book in the context of the written production of the municipal office are the central part of the analysis of the urban book of Pacov. The groups sorting of different types of registers is based on the structure of municipal book as Ludmila Sulitková has applied to the urban environment of Brno books in the context of the urban book development in the Middle Ages. This classification is based on the results of a longtime research, whose origin can be associated with Václav Vojtíšek. The main consideration in the discussion of each register...

Pařízková, Kateřina ; Holá, Mlada (advisor) ; Ebelová, Ivana (referee)
To the coronations which took place in Pre-White time, not enough attention has been paid yet. As it appears, enough accounts were preserved not only in contemporary prints but also in manuscript sources - in the works of chroniclers, in memories of persons present and above all in official and private correspondence. In addition to writen sources also material sorces and great part of iconographic sources have been preserved. The elaboration and evaluation of the sources to one of them, to the coronation of Matthias of Habsburg in Prague on May 23rd 1611, is a subject of the first half of this thesis. The coronation in the life of souvereign is a ceremony that generally certificates his leading position in the country. This ceremony customary is executed in accordance to the prede- terminated order. In case of the lands of Bohemian crown binding form has been set by coronation order of Bohemian kings Ordo ad coronandum Regem Bohemorum, prepared by Charles IV. The main core of this order was maintained also by Matthias coronation. His coronation in the cathedrale of Saint Vitus was a festive ceremony strongly influenced by then political situation. It placed under the strong protection of troops, excluding the general public, mostly ordinary people. Despite of it the ceromony was performed with...

However the Jews were present in Chrudim already from the time of Přemysl Otakar II., their presence there was rather a rare phenomenon untill half of the 19-th century, when, due to the legislative changes, the Jews were given new opportunities and started to move from the surrounding country communities and villages to Chrudim. That was the beginning of the time of the greatest prosperity of Chrudim's Jewish community, which continued untill the World War II. During that time the Jews there were fully respected members (citizens) of the Czech society and were fully involved in the prosperity of the town, and the Thesis folows the traces, that Jews have left in the history of Chrudim, and also the surrounding Jewish communities, from which part of the Jewish families of Chrudim came, are mentioned here.

This article focuses on Baroque heraldry, specifically the phenomenon of galleries of coats of arms in the Bohemian lands during the post-White Mountain period. Using auxiliary historical sciences methods, three sets of coats of arms from 1660-1690 are analysed: 1. Heraldic coats of arms and insignia of benefactors on sixteen paintings of the Saint Wenceslas series in the Basilica of St. Wenceslaus in the pilgrimage area of Stará Boleslav near Prague; 2. A set of three painted coats of arms in stucco cartouches on the triumphal arch of the Chapel of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles Borromeo in the former Vlašský Hospital in Prague's Lesser Town; 3. Heraldic coats of arms and insignia on ten wooden plinths of statues of Bohemian patrons in the archdeanery church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Tachov. The article yields a series of named sets of coats of arms, and the identification of most persons to whom they belonged to, including a comparison with coats of arms presented in other sources (seals, designs on deeds for coats of arms, old prints). With the placement into a wider historical context and an analysis of the donor structure, the article also points to the composition of the elite at that time, stemming from a range of higher and lower nobility, clergy and burghers, and to the need to make...
Czech Provinces and their Development in the Historical Geographical Context
Marečková, Jitka ; Semotanová, Eva (advisor) ; Ebelová, Ivana (referee)
Regional administration in Bohemia originated already in the Middle Ages and has survived till these days as an basic constituent of the state administration. Cartographical material, especially maps of provinces, which has been so far rather neglected, is very interesting and important source for the cognition of the development of Czech provinces. These maps have been issued since the 18th century and especially in the earlier period had been widely used by general public. The only list of these documents "Soupis map českých zemí" compiled by František Roubík provides outdated and inconsistent informations. The primary aim of this work is to provide a more detailed list of these maps in the form of a catalog and bring more informations on the various creators and publishers of the maps.

Mareš, Petr ; Hojda, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Ebelová, Ivana (referee)
The main aim of this work is to identify, analyse and describe the individual phases - mechanisms - of filling the office of the region supervisor in Bohemia before the Bíla Hora era. The secondary aim is to show the objective and subjective factors playing an important role in filling that office. An appendix includes a chronological list of regional supervisors sorted by regions, based on the extant lists from the years 1563/1564 - 1616/1617, and also includes a name index to this list. The main source of information is the set of documents of Bohemian royal office and Bohemian consulate from 1550 until the second half of the 18th century. These documents are currently stored in the National Archive in Prague, the Old Manipulation fund, inventory number 1605, sign. K 26 / 1 - 10, Districts and Regional Government in the Bohemia, card No. 1130 - 1135. I am focused in this work on writings dated between 1550 and 1618 which preserved only partly. The Kingdom of Bohemia was divided from the mid 15th century until the Thirty Years' War into 14 regions. Each region was headed by two regional supervisors. One of them came from aristocracy and the other from knighthood. Usually they have been in their offices for one year and replaced around the feast of St. George, 23 April. Monarch named the new regional...
