Moldanová, Miriam ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Jirkovský, Daniel (referee)
The bachelor's thesis is focused on the area of patient obligations and possible sanctions for their violation. The theoretical part defines the specific rights of patients, which directly result from defined obligations, in case of non-fulfilment of which the medical facility can apply specified sanctions on behalf of authorized persons. The theoretical definition of the issue is followed by a research investigation. The empirical part is devoted to quantitative research, which was carried out on the basis of an own research investigation. The research examines the knowledge of Motol FN nurses in the area of patient obligations and the application of possible sanctions for their violation. The results of the survey are then compared with the results of another survey. The method of the research investigation is a self-constructed questionnaire. For subsequent data processing, 102 questionnaires are selected from the total number of 125 questionnaires received, which contain completely answered questions and a matching control question. The results of correct answers vary significantly from question to question. 96 % of the nurses answered correctly to the question whether it is possible to collect an unpaid amount from the patient for a medical procedure provided that is not covered by public...

M Cleavages and Ideological Blocks in the Czech and Slovak Party Systems after 1989 This work brings knowledge from the comparison of the Czech and Slovak party systems. Based on long-term monitoring of the development in the field we attempted to point out its relevant characteristic. We compare the ideologically compatible blocks and political parties. Determinants of the formation o f Czech politics were ethnical homogeneity, long tradition of secularization in the Czech Lands and domination o f a single (socio-economic) cleavage line. The political development in Slovakia was influenced by the unsolved national question (position of Slovakia in a multinational state), ethnical heterogeneity, greater importance o f Christianity and religion in the society and many other factors. Consequently, the formation o f Slovak politics was characterized by multiple complicated and specific features. In the Czech Republic, two major blocks formed first: the civic non-socialist block represented mainly by the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), and the socialist block represented by the Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD), which corresponds to the domination o f the socio-economic cleavage line. The minor poles are mainly parties with the communist identity (as a result of the concentration of the radical left and...

Tudjarovska Gjorgjievska, Emilija ; Frič, Pavol (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (referee) ; Perottino, Michel (referee)
This research aims to investigate the causal linkages between the EU democratic legitimacy and the crises of representative democracies in the field of anti-corruption. The threats of corruption to the EU democratic legitimacy and the approach in handling this negative phenomenon is seen as a symptom of a more profound crisis of the EU integration project. The mutual interdependence between the EU and it is member states in delivering the standards of democracy, it's values and principles is seen through legitimation as an act of actual justification. This actual exercise of the EU indirect legitimacy in normative terms is translated into action through the key actors of representative democracies on a national level, the national parliaments and the political parties. However, the role of the parliaments and the party democracy in the broader EU context, especially evident in Central-East Europe (CEE), has been challenged and weak, suggesting hollowness of democracy. This status has been also challenged by the misuse of political power for private gains, as a general understanding of corruption, also adopted by the EU. However, the mutual reinforcement of corruption and the hollowness of democracy have remained under-acknowledged in the broader neoliberal context. The reasons behind are few:...
Patterns of Institutionalization of Political Parties in the Czech Republic
Stauber, Jakub ; Perottino, Michel (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (referee) ; Kouba, Karel (referee)
Research on political parties and their organizational stability presents one of the most important research agendas in modern comparative politics. Especially among newly democratized countries of the Central and Eastern Europe, the consolidation of democratic political institutions used to be considered as a key factor for the successful finishing of the whole transitional process. Despite the fact that most of the transitologists optimistically perceived the consolidation of the new democracies as a one-way process, the most of party systems in the eastern countries experienced serious changes and periods of instability within the last ten years. The most notable change was definitely the unexpected electoral success of genuinely new political parties and movements usually led by a political entrepreneur and formed without solid organizational background or solid ties to society. This tendency further turned into a new wave of unpredictability even within the party systems commonly perceived as fully stabilized and consolidated. Based on such new conditions, the contemporary party researchers turn their attention towards possible interpretations of this unprecedented phenomenon. This dissertation contributes to this discussion by the attempt to operationalize and explain the level of...

The research used a nonstandardized questionnaire in two versions, one for patients and one for health professionals (nurses). From the group of patients reported that they knew the law 42.9 %, other 28.6 % said they are more familiar, 17.1 % said that it is rather not known and 4 % do not know it at all. Although health workers from the observed group reported greater knowledge of patients' rights than patients themselves, for the application of those rights in nursing practice we consider important in both groups of participants knowledge of the nursing process, patient...
