The application of musical didactic tools for teaching piano at elementary art schools

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of using musical teaching aids in the study of piano playing at music schools up to the 5th year of study. First, it presents individual areas of children's psychological and psychomotor development, in which the author demonstrates the link between children's development and the positive effects of the use of musical teaching aids in teaching. The subsequent focus of the work is an introduction of and a proposal for the use of specific musical didactic aids for the study of piano playing, i.e. in the subjects Piano and Music Theory, in the framework of education at music schools. Attention is paid to individual aspects influencing the functionality of these aids. The results of a questionnaire created and sent to piano teachers are also presented, on the basis of which, among other things, a selection of the described musical didactic aids is based. The thesis was created with the intention of acquainting beginning teachers with a wide range of musical teaching aids. It can help with better orientation in the available materials for pedagogical practice and with a more effective conception of teaching. Basic educational concepts upon the appearance of a new primary school with focus on musical education.

The master thesis submits basic philosophy and vision of education upon the creation of a new primary school with extended focus of musical education. The thesis unifies the knowledge about development of musical education in Czech lands from medieval era to present and states the development of primary schools with extended focus of musical education. The thesis also describes the creation of these institutions on work of Ladislav Daniel and the Olomouc experiment, its progression and future reflections on conception of education on primary school with extended focus of musical education, contemplates the creation of guidelines for extended musical education in the Czech educational system. The thesis also describes important trendsetters in this issue, such as Ladislav Daniel, Alena Tichá, Jan Prchal and Pavel Jurkovič. A different part states the creation of school as an educational institution and describes basic characteristics of this institution. It also contemplates all necessary guidelines for creating a primary school with extended musical education, specifies the legislative framework, functions, and corporate framework with accent on educational juridical person system. Music education textbooks for primary schools between 1968 and 1989

Main topic of this bachelor thesis is analysis of the Czechoslovakian music education textbooks for the lower secondary education that were published between 1968 and 1989. This social science oriented theoretical thesis focuses on the tendencies of the former political era in context to the functional parts of the textbooks. The thesis later, based on the acquired insight to the problematics, puts specific tendentious elements of the textbooks into social-historical context and creates a summary of these elements. At the same time it also compares music education textbooks published in the 70's to the textbooks published in the 80's based on ther formal structure, clarity and didactic value. New musical orientations in contemporary liturgical music practice in the Czech republic

The work maps the current situation of the use of new musical movements in liturgy in comparison with traditional liturgical music. The work describes the contemporary form of liturgy in the Roman Catholic Church, including the historical context. It also shows the role of music in the liturgy, both new and traditional, based on history and more or less binding rules. The thesis outlines new tendencies in traditional liturgical music and compares it with new - rhythmic liturgical music. Within the rhythmic liturgical music the work describes its roots, sources of inspiration and its origins in the Czech Republic. It also describes its development, presents a selection of the most famous scholars, authors and discusses current and past singers of this new music. The thesis presents new musical approaches in liturgy as a self-valid, widely spread and recognized branch of liturgical music.
Methodological approaches to teaching improvisation at primary art school.

This work deals with the teaching of improvisation in basic art schools. It describes the contribution and signifikance of improvisation in the pupil's life, in his musical development. The aim of this work is to focus on the practical aspects of piano teaching, both from the pupil's point of view (pupil's musical needs, difficulties) and from the teacher's point of view. The work refutes the opinion that improvisation is conditioned by special, individual talent, but emphasizes that a suitable approach and methodology can develop improvisation in each student. The work also deals with some of the possible difficulties in learning to play the piano, and these are stress and tremor and musical dyslexia. Work connects both of these phenomena with the ability to improvise and shows how improvisation can have a positive effect on these learning difficulties. Another goal of this work is to map the current state of teaching improvisation in our basic art schools. For this purpose, a questionnaire was created addressing teachers throughout the Czech Republic. Practical use of CLIL in Music lessons at lower secondary school

Diploma thesis aims at introducing and application of CLIL, a method that is currently considered a suitable tool for improving quality of education. The method is, in this case, based on the integration of English language into Music teaching. A theoretical part is focused on the characteristics of the method, its history, didactic aspects, aims, required competences of a teacher and the principles of planning and realization of the method. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to specific possibilities of application of the method in various areas of the subject of music education. A practical part constitutes of a creation of several worksheets that can be used in real music lessons at lower secondary school. The worksheets are accompanied by a methodological commentary in which the whole lesson is proposed. Tradition and present of musical ensembles in Rychnov nad Kněžnou

The base theme of diploma thesis is the musical life with a focus on musical ensembles in Rychnov nad Kněžnou. At first the history of the town and its musical evolution is presented. In the next part of the thesis the active musical ensembles in Rychnov nad Kněžnou are discussed. They are for example the Rychnov Children's Choir of Carmina, Praus Choir and the X-tet and the Rychnov Temple Choir. There are also instrumental ensembles working at the ZUŠ of Rychnov nad Kněžnou: Sarabanda Flute ensemble, Orecchie grandi String Orchestra, Orecchie piccole String Orchestra, Nona Band, I flauti Matti Flute ensemble and Dance Orchestra ColorBand. The aim of the thesis is to map the culture of Rychnov in the field of artificial music.
