Preparation and Organization of the EU Council Presidency

The thesis analyses the activities which are realized within the preparation and organization of the EU Council Presidency, namely both at the general level and also in the concrete case of the Czech presidency, with the priority focus on logistic and promotional aspects. The subject matter of the thesis is also an evaluation of the presidency, which presents the important part of its organizational support. The principal aim of the thesis is to stress the cardinal importance of the preparation and organization for the successful execution of the presidency.
Conflict resolution in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo (with emphasis on UN)

This paper analyses proceeding of international community headed by United Nations by Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo conflict resolution. It examines roles of the most important international actors within particular conflict resolution phases that are represented by policy lines defined by Boutros Boutros-Ghali and used by UN. It verifies statement that international community has participated by conflict resolution in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Kosovo in every phase and has used instruments of all policy lines. The first chapter defines single policy lines that international community has at its disposal when conflict resolving. Reasons and course of conflicts are outlined within the second chapter. The third and fourth chapter analyse in particular subchapters international community activities in relation to preventive diplomacy, peacemaking, peacekeeping and peacebuilding in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Kosovo.
Impact of political and security situation on tourism of Israel

Security and political instability may affect development of country's tourism negatively. Moreover, tourism is one of the basic development conditions of tourism. Country affected by a bad security situation, e.g. because of terrorist attacks or war, is considered as an unsafe destination by potentional visitors which may result in decline in tourist arrivals to the country. Israel has image of dangerous destination in respect of a long Arab-Israeli, or Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The aim of this study is to evaluate impact of security on inbound tourist flows to Israel based on characterization of security situation in Israel from the end of the 60's to the present and reaction of inbound tourism to this development.
The question of coordination of the relations of EU member states with Russian Federation on the field of energy security

Concern of this thesis is the Energy policy of the European Union in relation to the Russian Federation. Work examines to what extent do the member states execute the energy security on their national level and to what extent are they willing to coordinate the energy policy within the union. Thesis reviews the development of the energy security in the european region, the development of the relation EU-Russian Federation and identifies the contentious points in the relation. Thesis provides an overview of all twenty seven member states - solution of energy resources supplies security of each and unique relation between each country and Russian Federation. The question of possibility of coordination of energy policy is being solved in context of different resources access between member states and their divergent approach to Russia.
The Czech EU Council Presidency – priorities in justice and home affairs issues

This work is devided into 5 main parts. The first two parts, about the European union and the Czech EU Council Presidency, cover the main information about the European union functioning and Council Presidency system and includes both, concrete information about the Czecch Council Presidency and key information, which are necessary to understand following parts of that work. The second part of the work deal with the priorities in justice and home affairs issues within the European union and monitor their progress in the last years, but mainly during the Czech Council Presidency in 2009.
Chinese soft power in Asia

Within the context of the foreign policy of the People's Republic of China, one hears frequently about Chinese "soft power". This work deals with Chinese soft power in three Asian subregions - Southeast Asia, Japan & South Korea and Central Asia - in order to verify to what extent can soft power be regarded a universal approach in Chinese foreign policy. After introducing the concept of soft power this work is aiming to explain the characteristics of Chinese soft power, define the potentials and limits of Chinese soft power resources and explain how soft power corresponds with China's general strategy of foreign policy. In order to create an image of Chinese soft power in each of the three subregions, I define the key soft power tools according to which I measure Chinese soft power: Bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, promotion of culture and language (mainly through Confucius institutes), education of foreign students at Chinese universities and foreign aid. The rest of work is an analysis of employment of these tools in the respective subregions.
Non-governmental organization Amnesty International and its influence on the international relations - the case study Counter Terror with Justice

The case study deals with one of the most famous and successful non-governmental organizations - Amnesty International. The case study consists of three parts - the first chapter, which is focused on the theoretical approaches to the issue of NGOs and human rights and on the by organization used strategies in the effort to reach its goals. In the second chapter I describe the organization, the period of its establishment, progressive development, extending of the agenda and also of the member base, strengthening of the legitimacy in the society. In the third chapter I use up the theoretical knowledge from the first two chapters applicated into practice. The purpose of my work is to sum up the usage and the effectiveness of the studied strategies demonstrated on the campaign Counter Terror with Justice.
Public Diplomacy of the Czech Republic – actual aspects

The diploma thesis introduces the term public diplomacy and examines it in the context of Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to explore, describe and evaluate Czech Republic's practice in the field of public diplomacy. The study also focuses on the term nation branding and brand image of countries. A whole chapter is dedicated to the "brand Czech republic". The last part of the diploma thesis analyzes the Czech presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2009 from the view of its presentation and communication.
Asylum policy of the Slovac Republik

The main objective of the thesis is to describe the process of europeanization of asylum policy in the Slovac Republic conditions. Considering the changes resulting from the European integration and applying the theoretical backround of the notion "europeanization", the thesis confronts the situation before and after joining the European union. The system comparation reflects also statistical figures and records the cardinal alterations in the legislative area. A space is provided also to the characteristics of the relevant legislative acts and the aspects encouraging the europeanization in Slovakia.
Comparison of asylum policies of Germany, Great Britain and France

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of asylum policies of three European powers: Germany, Great Britain and France. It follows the development of the amount of asylum seekers it these countries since 1989 and monitors the legislation accepted by the particular states in the given period. The integral part of this thesis is comparison of the current aspects of asylum policies in the examined states. The aim of this thesis was to compare the attitude of the three states to the asylum applicants, to evaluate how it has changed during last twenty years and to survey to what extent the praxis of asylum policy reflects the integration models adopted by the countries. These are discrimination model for Germany, multicultural model for Great Britain and assimilation model for France. The thesis is divided into four chapters, where the first three chapters are dedicated to the analysis of asylum policies of Germany, Great Britain and France; the last chapter then concentrates on the comparison of the studied aspects.
