Title: System to support decission making in dental implantology - quality of life of patients with dental implants Author: MUDr. Pavel Kříž Department: Paediatric Stomatology of 2nd Medical School and Faculty Hospital Motol, V Úvalu 84, 150 06 Prague 5 Supervisor: Prof. MUDr. Taťjana Dostálová, DrSc., MBA Supervisor's e-mail: tatjana.dostalova@fnmotol.cz Dental implants are the method of choice in the treatment of missing tooth/teeth replacement. Implant therapy must be preceded by a detailed examination and the overall treatment plan. As an aid for decision-making for dentists was created decision-making scheme, which gradually, logically and schematically guides the dentists in this particular situation. Health is closely related to the quality of life. Our work evaluates the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) of patients with dental implants. The aim of our study was to determine whether treatment with a dental implant(s) improve(s) OHRQoL. We created a questionnaire to determine the quality of life before and after implantation. In our study, we evaluated only patients who were treated by the only one implantological system to eliminate the influence of other systems on the quality of the results of the study; we evaluated a total of 297 implants. It was assessed a total of 97...

Dental status in handicapped patients
Chleborád, Karel ; Dostálová, Taťjana (advisor) ; Racek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Hanzlíček, Petr (referee)
The information in the medical records serve many purposes: they can be used for diagnosis and therapy, medical documentation contains information that can be the basis for financial authorities for treatment or for pumping reimbursement from health insurance. The data can be used in statistics and other scientific purposes. The aim of study is to verify the simplicity of data process implementation and time of data storing for modification of classical paper WHO dental card, lifetime dental EHR controlled by keyboard and lifetime dental EHR controlled by voice. All three methods were applied on 126 patients. At first the patients were inspected by a standard technique (communication between dentist and nurse) and the data recorded into the paper WHO dental card. The same person recorded all data to lifetime dental EHR using keyboard and using voice. Then we compared the time, which was needed for recording the data using these three methods. Using Friedman test we found very significant differences in time of recording among three methods (p<0.001). We can see that the paper WHO dental card was recorded quickly, but its rise due to missing electronic form is difficult. Times for recording data using keyboard or voice in lifetime dental EHR were not significantly different. The clinical practice...

Title: Voice controlled electronic health record in dentistry Author: MUDr. Radek Hippmann Department: Department of paediatric stomatology, Faculty hospital Motol Supervisor: Prof. MUDr. Taťjana Dostalová, DrSc., MBA Supervisor's e-mail: Tatjana.Dostalova@fnmotol.cz This PhD thesis is concerning with development of the complex electronic health record (EHR) for the field of dentistry. This system is also enhanced with voice control based on the Automatic speech recognition (ASR) system and module for speech synthesis Text-to- speech (TTS). In the first part of the thesis is described the whole issue and are defined particular areas, whose combination is essential for EHR system creation in this field. It is mainly basic delimiting of terms and areas in the dentistry. In the next step we are engaged in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problematic, which is often ignored and trends in EHR and voice technologies are also described. In the methodological part are described delineated technologies used during the EHR system creation, voice recognition and TMJ disease classification. Following part incorporates results description, which are corresponding with the knowledge base in dentistry and TMJ. From this knowledge base originates the graphic user interface DentCross, which is serving for dental data...
Evaluation of the stability of osteosynthesis of mandibular ramus sagittal split osteotomy
Nieblerová, Jiřina ; Mazánek, Jiří (advisor) ; Dostálová, Taťjana (referee) ; Bulik, Oliver (referee)
Orthognatic surgery deals with congenital and acquired dentoalveolar or skeletal deformities of the face. An unfavourable downward rotation of a mandible and posterior vertical maxillary excess cause an anterior open bite, which is characterized by excessive anterior facial height in the lower third, a gap between the incisors in maximal occlusion and a large mandibular angle. Osteotomy (mainly Le Fort I osteotomy or bilateral sagittal split osteotomy of the mandibular ramus - BSSO), ostectomy or distraction osteogenesis are performed to correct the orthognatic deformities. Osteosynthetic materials based on titanium or bioresorbable materials are used in the form of miniplates with monocortical screws, or bicortical screws are utilized to fix the bony fragments. Stability of the new jaws position is the main criterion for success. Relapse causes a loss of occlusion and consequently functional and aesthetic disorders. Relapse consists of skeletal and dental factors. Skeletal relapse is usually divided into early and long-term relapse. BSSO with counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation of the occlusal plane alone was traditionally considered to be the least stable treatment method. Some authors suggest the use of two miniplates on each side of the osteotomy, but we have not found scientific proof of the...
Change of Cephalometric Values Focused on Labial Bone Thickness
Filipová, Diana ; Dostálová, Taťjana (advisor) ; Racek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Špidlen, Miloš (referee)
The morphology of the craniofacial complex is prone to alterations resulting from a wide range of external factors. In the first part of the presented thesis, we analysed the influence of slow long- term changes of the environment and population genome by comparing historical (11-12th century AD) and contemporary skulls using cephalometric X-ray images. The second part focuses on the effects of orthodontic treatment on bone thickness in relevant areas, with the analysis being based on Cone Beam computed tomography. A comparison of the palatal angle of 115 historical and 75 contemporary skulls revealed a statistically significant decrease of this parameter. The follow-up of 58 patients utilizing three- dimensional diagnostic imaging measurements before and after treatment revealed a statistically significant decrease in vestibular bone thickness, without changes of total alveolar width. Our analysis revealed a substantial bone response to respective forces, with relevant clinical implications - respecting the anatomical limits of the range of motion is essential to achieve therapeutic success and to avoid alveolar defects. Assessment of facial morphology in patients with orofacial clefts in relation to surgical protocols
Moslerová, Veronika ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Dostálová, Taťjana (referee) ; Katina, Stanislav (referee)
The presented thesis summarizes the results of research on craniofacial morphology in patients with facial cleft defects in relation to therapeutic approaches (Caganova et al., 2014; Dadáková et al., 2016; Hoffmannova et al., 2016; Hoffmannova et al., 2018; Moslerová et al., 2018). The effect of therapy in individuals with pathological growth disorders cannot be evaluated without detailed auxological studies of control subjects whose facial morphology, longitudinal changes, or manifestations of sexual dimorphism were evaluated upon similar methodology (Koudelová et al. 2015). Therefore, the thesis was conceived as a volume of six publications complemented with a general synthetic introduction into the area of study. Together, the thesis includes probands in a broad age spectrum from birth to 15 years with a total of 294 facial 3D scans, 36 tele-X-ray face images, 3D scans of 112 gypsum palate castings. The methods of geometric morphometry and multidimensional statistics prevail in the assessment. The main clinical part of the thesis deals with the influence of two types of surgery on the facial growth and development of patients with cleft palate, namely secondary spongioplasty (SS) and neonatal cheiloplasty (NCH). Neonatal cheiloplasty (NCH) is the surgery whose effects were studied from several...
Possibilities of using expert systems and mathematical 3D modeling in treament of cysts in maxillofacial region
Mahdian, Nima ; Dostálová, Taťjana (advisor) ; Mazánek, Jiří (referee) ; Saic, Stanislav (referee)
Dentistry and medicine as part of empirical sciences, need to constantly develop in scientific field since the tasks it is facing today were unthinkable to solve few decades ago. Hence, dentistry is calling a greater improvement and demanding a more effective and long-term functionality. Massive expansion of scientific research, new methods and opportunities represent a considerable amount of information to be efficiently processed. Despite the fact that the human brain is still the most advanced yet it has its own limitations. The development of artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling provides us with solutions to address and replace those limits. In areas where the human brain has reached its limits (fatigue, the amount of data, agility etc.) artificial intelligence including expert systems is being increasingly promoted. It is clear that expert systems has found its place in a variety of industries ranging from banking to geology. Also, medicine is not an exception and is constantly progressing by several expert systems for decision support in daily clinical practice. Mathematical modeling helps us to work with emphasis on long-term performance. We have the advantage to prepare everything in 3D models. Sometimes we can use a mathematical model such as conducting operations and...
