Utilization of chosen construction elements in the scope of insurance products

This bachelor thesis deals with construction elements, their definition, existence in insurance products and their influence on possibility risks´ insurability, indemnity and premium amount. In the introduction of this thesis, the fundamentals of insurance are explained. Second and third chapter deal with defining the terms, that are the core of the issues raised in this thesis. In the subchapters of the second chapter, the term of insurance product will be described, including possibilities of its structuring by the subject of insurance and the last subchapter introduces us law given terms needed for insurance arranging in order to benefit from insurance coverage. Fourth and fifth chapter deal with occurence and influence of construction elements in insurance products of Generali Pojišťovna a.s. The fourth chapter describes and analyzes occurence of insurance elements in selected insurance products, that will be the subject of comparison and research of their importance in the following chapter. In the conclusion, information about construction elements are summarized and recommendations are given for their utilization (selection and choice) when arranging insurance.
The development of insurance in Czech and Slovak territory

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of insurance in Czech and Slovak territory. The aim is to present the evolution of Czech and Slovak insurance market from its beginning to the present. The chapters are chronologically divided according to significant historical milestones. The effort is to observe the influence of time and economic and political situation on the insurance market development, not only to characterize the current situation but also to review the differences of both insurance markets. Furthermore, the latest news in Czech and Slovak insurance are described. Part of the work is about the global trends emerging on current insurance market.
Risk Life Insurance

The thesis focuses on the Risk Life Insurance of the Czech insurance market offering coverage just for serious health risks without any investment or savings component. Assessment of the Risk Life Insurance offer is based on the findings of the general and special insurance conditions as well as on the gained draft insurance contracts worked on the model setting. The aim of the thesis is the analysis of the main coverage which is in all cases the life insurance along with the offer of the complementary insurance for case of death, disability, cancer or severe diseases. The emphasis is on the scope of risks coverage and the insurance conditions which are considered to be an insurance event.
Development of property insurance for citizens in the Czech Republic

The master thesis analyzes the property insurance for citizens in the Czech Republic with main focus on buildings insurance, household insurance, and accident insurance for non-rail vehicles. The goal of this thesis is to analyze the development of insurance market indicators of the products stated above and to predict their future behavior. To help with the understanding of the practical part, basic terminology and trends in the general insurance market are included in this work. The main indexes to be analyzed are: premium written, claims paid, loss ratio, number of contracts made, average written premium per contract, number of claims settled, average written premium per insured event, and the number of commercial insurance companies. The main data sources for time series analysis for the period between the years 1997 and 2015 are the annual reports of the Czech Insurance Association. The time series analysis showed that building insurance and household insurance are strongly affected by natural disasters - in the Czech Republic the main impact have floods. Since the main purpose of the accident insurance is to cover accidents, it is only partially impacted by natural disasters. The popularity of property insurance has an increasing tendency, which is shown by the insurance market indicators. Box-Jenkins methodology was used to forecast the future development of the insurance market. Similarly to other insurance products, the property insurance undergoes certain changes, to which the insurance companies must respond. These trends are mainly connected to the higher usage of modern technologies - for instance Internet of Things, introduction of Smart Homes or the ,,Pay How-You-Drive'' insurance.
Current trends in the global and Czech Insurance

This thesis reviews current trends in both global and Czech insurance industry. It describes the origin of their law which shaped the insurance market. The current state for each continent in several categories is analysed through the available data. A large part is devoted to the European environment. The conclusion contains the most important changes in legislation which could significantly impact the insurance industry in the coming years.
Impact of hurricane Katrina on global insurance market

This thesis examines the problem of impact of catastrophic natural events on insurance and reinsurance markets, with special focus on 2005 hurricane Katrina. It aims to analyze and evaluate the consequences of large scale economic loss on global insurance market. First part of the thesis describes the event and its implications. Impact on oil and gas industry and others is discussed. Main section is focused on repercussions of this event for both local and global insurance markets. Influence on selected subjects and new trends observable after Katrina are considered. Changes to alternative risk transfer instruments after 2005 are investigated.
Motor insurance profitability in the czech insurance market

The diploma thesis is focused on the motor damage and the motor third party liability insurance profitability evaluation of the czech insurance market. In the first part both the czech market devolopment and the current law-making issues with the evaluation of the czech market key indicators are briefly described. Next part of the thesis is focused on the non life insurance market quantitative characteristic in the period from 2003 to 2015. Next part of the thesis deals with the motor damage and the motor third party liability insurance characteristics. In the last two chapters the thesis examines the motor damage and the motor third party liability market with the following evaluation of their profitability by using the combined ratio indicator.
Home insurance on the Czech insurance market

The bachelor thesis focuses on the home insurance market in the Czech Republic. The objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze and evaluate the constitution and terms of home insurance and to advise which aspects the client should concentrate on, that is before taking out insurance as well as for the duration of the insurance. The text is extended by specific examples based on the current supply of the stated product. The thesis also focuses on problems, that are connected with this insurance product and that should be avoided by potential insurance applicant or policyholder. A questionnaire survey is also a part of this bachelor thesis and it is focused on problems connected to the insurance, if the insurance premium is or is not a part of consumers' expenses and dependence of the home insurance on age and net monthly income.
Possibilities of dealing with consequences of nuclear risks through a commercial insurance

This master thesis is devoted to different possibilities of dealing with consequences of nuclear risks through a commercial insurance. It deals with nuclear energy in the world and in the Czech Republic, international liability conventions, Czech regularization of liability principles, possibilities of insuring nuclear risks through nuclear pools and alternative risk transfer methods. The thesis analyzes the causes, process, consequences and financing the damage of two selected nuclear power plant accidents. Based on available data, the thesis tries to evaluate the ability of the existing system of nuclear risk insurance to eliminate potential negative consequences and suggest possibilities to strengthen the role of commercial insurance.
The property insurance in the retail sector

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the property insurance in the retail sector with emphasis on the home insurance. Firstly, the thesis discourses on general information about property insurance, its history and its fundamental elements. Then follows break-down to real estate insurance and home insurance and assessment of the current situation on the Czech market for these products. In the final part there is a comparison of products which are offered by three of the largest insurance companies in the Czech Republic. The acquired information is lately used for calculation of premium for a model household. The benefit of this thesis is an overview about home insurance and introduction of necessary information which should be concerned while negotiating these type of insurance.
