Míčková, Dominika ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Kotlík, Kamil (referee)
Title: The impact of Covid-19 pandemy on the sport motivation in para swimmers Objectives: The aim of the study is to search for the existence of changes in the level of sport motivation in a group of para swimmers as a result of the pandemic crisis in the Czech Republic. Methods: The object of the research is to evaluate the data of a repeatedly submitted standardised Sport Motivation Scale questionnaire to a research cohort of 22 disabled para swimmers aged 19 to 48 years (as of 2021). Then a comparison of this assessment with the responses obtained through a structured interview conducted at the end of the research survey in August 2021 has been developed. Graphical processing and an appropriate form of t-test is used to investigate differences in motivation levels. Results: Although the statistical analysis of the data of the whole group did not show a significant difference between the two studied time periods, nor between men and women, a change in the level of intrinsic motivation to know was observed in the group of men studied separately. Furthermore, a correlation of intrinsic motivation to experience with age was found. When comparing these results with a set of descriptions of the respondent's subjective feelings, the answers to the scientific research questions are not entirely clear....

Koroleva, Alena ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Pavlová, Ilona (referee)
Title: The relationship of perceived quality of life, sport engagement and psychological resilience of para swimmers. Objectives: The main aim of the thesis is to investigate whether selected traits in the area of psychology (resilience, hardiness, grit) are related to perceived quality of life and sport engagement of para swimmers. Furthermore, whether we can predict quality of life and sport engagement based on these characteristics. Methods: Thirty-two adult respondents (13 females, 18 males), aged 19 to 59 years (mean age 29.2±8.5 years), participated in a survey. Data were collected using a questionnaire focusing on general information, life satisfaction, grit, resilience, sport commitment and hardiness (Martin et al., 2015), which was translated into czech by Jiskrova (2019). Results: Life satisfaction (LS) is statistically significantly correlated with resilience (r=0.61) and hardiness (r=0.41). Sport engagement (SE) was only statistically significantly correlated with hardiness (r=0.46). Life satisfaction, based on regression analysis, can be best predicted from resilience, which explains LS from about 37 %. SE can only be predicted from hardiness, which can explain SE from about 21 %. Key words: physical disability, para sport, endurance, mental toughness, grit, resilience, hardiness

Title: Exercise with seniors in a retirement home with a special regime Objective: The main aim of the study was to determine whether seniors with cognitive impairment experience improvements that have a statistical significance in selected components of physical fitness after a three-month exercise program. Furthermore, it was checked whether regular physical activity changes their attitude towards exercise. Methods: The study involved 9 probands (3 of them male) aged 72 to 90 years with cognitive impairment. The probands completed a three-month program (April-June 2022) in which they performed group and seated chair exercises twice a week for sixty minutes. At the beginning and end of the intervention program, they underwent an orientation fitness assessment using the senior fitness test and a questionnaire form on health limitations and attitudes toward exercise. Results: The results of the senior fitness test showed that there was a statistically significant improvement in the parameters of lower limb strength, and agility with dynamic balance. Some improvement was seen in the other parameters, but without the statistical significance. Most probands showed a positive change in their attitude towards physical activity. Relationship of quality of life and hardiness, relisience and grit in parahockey and wheelchair rugby players
Jiskrová, Markéta ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Pavlová, Ilona (referee)
anglicky Objectives: This thesis aims to investigate whether we can predict the general and sport- specific quality of life of athletes with physical disabilities based on selected positive psychological constructs (resilience, hardiness and grit). Method: Forty players of para ice-hockey and wheelchair rugby (of which only two were women) underwent this study. The data were obtained by a questionnaire, compiled by Professor Martin from Wayne State University, which contains six parts: general information, life satisfaction, grit, resilience, sports engagement and hardiness. The "translation and reverse translation" method was used to translate the questionnaire. We used the statistical program IBM SPSS 2200 to analyze the obtained data. Results: Life satisfaction can be best predicted on the basis of hardiness (R = 0.686), but also resilience (R = 0.496) and grit (R = 0.340). We can predict sports engagement only based on resilience (R = 0.374). We recommend searching for other possible positive constructs that could better predict sports engagement. Key words: quality of life, sport engagement, life satisfaction, resilience, hardiness, grit, para ice hockey, wheelchair rugby
