Electoral geography of the Czech Republic: Electoral support for the Green Party Abstract The purpose of this diploma thesis is to analyze the Green Party in the Czech Republic from the point of view of electoral geography. The period under consideration is election to the Chamber of Deputies from 2006 to 2013. There is attempt to describe trends in electoral support, its changes as well as areas of stable electoral support up to the level of municipalities with extended competence. Furthermore, this paper aims at defining the type and strength of certain factors which are specific to areas with higher support for the Green Party. The electoral support is illustrated with maps and charts by using common electoral geography methods. In order to explain the relationship between chosen factors and electoral support, correlation and regression analysis has been used. The main finding is the growing support in Prague, Brno and their surroundings. Higher electoral support is in administrative districts with higher proportion of university graduates and low level of religiosity.
