My bachelor thesis deals with life and work of Ruzena Kadlecova, czech journalist, whose important part of life was influenced by Second Word War. She worked for news agency called Central European Press. Because of her extraordinary language skills (she spoke English, French, German and Italian fluently), she was chosen by one of the exponents of Nazi party, Friedrich Rudl, as a translator. Bachelor thesis Magazine "Svět práce" 1945-1948 deals with the development, ideological focus and more detailed analysis of content and formal analysis of the magazine of Czechoslovak Social Democracy. In individual chapters it is devoted to the history of the origin and demise of the magazine itself, trying to outline the political situation of the time within which Svět práce was published, and the Czech Social Democratic Party and its ideology. Many contributors were very distinctive personalities on the political scene in the captured era, therefore they have received a special attention. A separate section also consists of editorial policy that was changing significantly during the seized period.

Bachelor thesis deals with analysis of two protectorate journals, daily paper Ceské Slovo and magazine for women Eva, with regards to the call appeals and articles arousing readers to support protectorate institutions. Bachelor thesis focuses on the appeals of the protectorate authorities for social assistance towards the Third Reich by contributing to the German Red Cross and Winterhilfswerk, or by filling posts freed by soldiers fighting at the front.
The media image ot the Great depression in the dailies the Czech Word and The Right of People in 1932

The thesis "The Media Image of the Great Depression in the Dailies the Czech Word and the Right of People in 1932" deals with the Great Depression and its image in two Czech dailies in the most critical year of 1932. These dailies are the Czech Word, the central body of the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party, and the Right of People, the central body of the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Workers Party. The introduction explains the concept of economic crises and describes its course in the world, because in the years 1929 - 1933 it was truly a global crisis. Stresses the United States, Great Britain, France and Germany. The section on economic developments in Czechoslovakia in 1918 - 1929 precedes the part about the crisis in Czechoslovakia. Given that the economic crisis in Czechoslovakia was accompanied by the political crisis, author describes the domestic political situation and provides a brief history of the parties. Introduction of the two dailies is accompanied by the general characteristics of the periodical press during the First Republic. The perspective of the Czech words and the Right of People at the crisis precedens the research of journals, made by quantitative content analysis.
Publishing house Heinrich Bauer Verlag in Czech Republic : analysis of the company and its magazines assortiment

This bachelor thesis is concerned with the presence of the German publishing house Heinrich Bauer Verlag in the Czech Republic, active on the Czech market through the daughter company Bauer Media, v. o. s. (hereinafter as Bauer Media). Heinrich Bauer Verlag acts as a worldwide media group and is covered by Bauer Media Group. The main goal of my thesis is to analyze the position of Bauer Media on the Czech media market. At the same time I focus on the development of the mother company. As an analysis method I use the evaluation of the chronological development of both of the companies with an emphasis on the most fundamental circumstances. In case of Bauer Media I compare the observations with the development of the Czech magazine market. Further I analyze especially the specific data about paid circulation and magazine readership of the magazines published by Bauer Media because magazines are the primary focus of the Czech company, as well as the mother company. The bachelor thesis is divided into three main parts. In the introductory theoretical part I explain various theories and definitions which are linked to the topic of the bachelor thesis. The trial with Jiří Stříbrný in relation to his publishing activities

Diploma thesis "The Trial with Jiří Stříbrný in relation to his publishing activities" deals with the life of one Czechoslovakian considerable journalist and politician. The thesis is focused on his journalistic activities and also on his rich political career. In the second part of thesis a period at the turn of 1946 a 1947 is described more extensively. In that time, the society dealt with remains of the World War II, included doubtful activities of Jiří Stříbrný. He was accused at the National court in Prague at the beginning of 1947. In the final part of the thesis is described, how the three Czechoslovakian newspapers informed about the trial. There are analyzed articles, which were published in Rudé právo, Svobodné noviny and Mladá fronta at January 1947.

Diploma thesis deals with the trial with the German minister of Czech and Moravia during the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia, Karl Hermann Frank, which took place from March till May 1946. In the theoretical part of the thesis, Frank's function in the protectorate is described, as well as Frank's participation on creation of the protectorate. Practical part analyzes how four Czech newspaper - Práce, Svobodné slovo, Právo lidu and Rudé právo - informed about the trial with K. H. Frank. On grounds of news from particular days of the process, the approach of these newspapers is examined.
Atomic bombings of Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945 and the reflection of these events in Czechoslovac postwar media

The diploma thesis Atomic Bombings of Japanese Cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945 and the Reflection of These Events in Czech Postwar Media considers the event from year 1945 which has changed the world. This topic was also covered by Czechoslovak newspapers at the time. The propaganda of the USA and also of the Soviet Union was at high level at that time and Czechoslovak press was highly influenced by this. That?s why the end of the war and atomic bombing of the Japanese cities were for public largely misrepresented. The paper considers in detail, how the three particular newspapers ? Svobodné noviny, Lidová demokracie and Rudé právo - handled with accessible information. The author of this thesis picked up the articles in connection with the war with Japan. Author than confronted the extent of articles in particular newspapers and the rate of influence of political orientation and character of chosen newspapers on the articles content. The paper deals with question why the press redactions wrote about those events often in a tendentious way or why newspapers did not publish some of the information. The thesis summarizes how did the media work after the Second World War and how would they work at the presence.

Diploma thesis "Media analysis of the Economic policy magazine in the thirties of the 20th century" deals with the formation and development, aspects of content and formal aspects of the Economic policy magazine in the thirties of the 20th century. Individual chapters are devoted to the history of the magazine, considering the circumstances of media and historical context of the thirties, affected by economic crisis. Furthermore, they are devoted to his general characterization or structure, definition of readers. The important part concerns about contributors, authors of articles, among whom were economic specialist of that epoch, or about often discussed topics which reflected mostly the problems of Czechoslovak economy in the thirties. Attention is also paid to others economic magazines and newspapers of that time or to that magazines or newspapers, which were interested in economic topics, and the importance of Economic policy magazine among them.
