School assistant's role in kindergarten and primary school

1 Abstract: The diploma thesis focuses on the role of school assistants in selected kindergarten and elementary school. Unlike teaching assistants, school assistants are not the pedagogical staff at the school. The main aim of the diploma thesis was to find out whether school assistants perform the required job position stated by the project program. Furthermore, I wanted to find out whether school assistants have the same job description and same working conditions as teaching assistants. The last research question helped me to find solutions for improving current role of school assistants in kindergarten and elementary schools and thus making their role more effective. In the theoretical part, I consider other job positions of an assistant besides the job position of a school assistant, and address terms related to today's inclusive education. I discussed special educational needs, support measures, advisory services, as well as methodical guidance of assistants and the classroom climate. In the practical part, I examine the true role of school assistants in comparison with the job descriptions set by the operation programme. Knowledge of primary school health education teachers about contraception

The diploma thesis Knowledge of health education teachers at primary schools about contraception deals in the theoretical part with the field of health education at universities in the Czech Republic with a focus on the implementation of a course with a sexual reproduction theme and the inclusion of the topic of contraception. The practical part is made up of the results of a questionnaire-based electronic survey investigating the knowledge of teachers on the topic of contraception. The main goal is to determine the knowledge of health education teachers teaching at the second level of elementary schools on the topic of contraception using the number of correct answers. The first sub-goal is to compare the knowledge of interviewed teachers with approval of the subject of health education and without approval of the subject of health education. The second partial goal is to compare the knowledge of novice teachers (less than 5 years of teaching experience) and teachers with more than 5 years of teaching experience. The third sub-goal is to find out the professional qualification and approval of health education teachers. Influence of education on (un)successful life path of Roma

The diploma thesis deals with the influence of the environment and some of its aspects and levels of education on future employment and related life within the Romany ethnic group. It is divided into a theoretical part, where I introduced the history of Romany culture, the issue of the Romany people and outlined the image of their integration into society. As a key topic, I chose the influence of socio-economic status on the level of education of Romany children. I attempted to define the role of the state in the issue of social status of this ethnic group and bring the position of the Romany question in society and the labour market nearer, which is related to my outline of the view of Romany people themselves on the phenomenon of education and its application in the work process. At the end of the theoretical part I introduced a well-known personality who devoted all his time to the education of the Romany in terms of pedagogy, upbringing and education. In the practical part I presented the research in the form of interviews with Romany citizens on how education affected their lives and the extent to which family upbringing, social environment and Romany origin played a role. School pedagogical teams and their realization of school's preventive strategy

v AJ The main objective of this work was to point out the importance of primary prevention and its timely start. This goal naturally resulted from the text included in the theoretical part and was fulfilled. Furthermore, the work found out and described what specifically pedagogical staff includes in their activities to support prevention, whether they participate in primary prevention, whether they are interested in participating in it, and possibly in what way. In this regard, educators prefer sincere communication, listening and trust building between participants over other methods. Another integral part of the objectives of this work was to identify specific opportunities for cooperation between pedagogical staff and parents, counseling centers, other counseling facilities and fields dealing with this topic. The research method used was semi- structured interviews. The interviews were coded and categorized. The interviews showed that the pedagogical staff has the opportunity to cooperate with a wide network of experts and it was found that they are very satisfied with this cooperation. Expediency of the inclusion project in primary schools in Nový Bor

This diploma thesis contains a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I define the terms related to the issue of the topic, which are inclusion, integration, exclusion and segregation. The possible benefits and barriers of inclusive pedagogy are presented. The next part of the thesis describes the inclusion project called With the family for inclusion, which is led by the non-profit organization Rodina v centru, z.ú., in Nový Bor. The diploma thesis describes the activities of the project, which are implemented in primary schools in Nový Bor within the inclusion. The practical part of the diploma thesis presents an analysis and results of a mixed methods research, a questionnaire survey and a content analysis. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the project activities related to inclusion in schools are effective and which activities should be supported in schools even after the end of the project.
Influence of social networks on eating disorders of high school students

The theme of this diploma thesis is Influence social networks on high school students eating disorder. The aim of this work is to find out the influence of social networks on high school students eating disorder, perception of their own body and what adolescents practically pick over from social networks and use it in their own lifes. The work has theoretical-empirical character. The theoretical part of the work in the first chapter focuses on the period of adolescence, formation of identity and relation to food. The second chapter deals with eating disorder in International Classification of Diseases. The work primarily focuses on anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. The third chapter is a discussion of factors influencing the origin and development of eating disorders. The fourth chapter of the theoretical part describes social networks, which adolescents uses the most. The aim of the empirical part of the work is to determine the impact of social networks on high school students through the quantitative research, and find out what extent of eating disorders they encounter in their lives. This diploma thesis deals with the values of children and youth in the context of a sociocultural disadvantaged backgrounds. The work has theoretical and empirical character. The theoretical part explains the basic terminology and assumptions relating to values and value orientation, moral development of children, social exclusion. The text provides a detailed description of the Roma population including its history and current status, possible causes of problems and theoretical solutions psychosocial differences. Practical work provides data on socially excluded Roma locality Chanov and especially local elementary school. The research study provides an interpretation which life values Roma children perceive as important and what attitude to their value orientation have teachers of elementary school Chanov. The results of interviews and questionnaires are compared with the conclusions of the studies mentioned in the theoretical part.

The impact of poverty and social exclusion in schooling and education of children and adolescents

The thesis deals with the topic of poverty and social exclusion in the context of education on the theoretical and empirical level. The theoretical part of the thesis concentrates on summary of poverty and social exclusion. It specifies the fundamental definitions, concepts and causes of its formation. Further, the thesis deals with the risks in the context of education, concentrates on government strategies, educational policy and institutions in the Czech Republic. Also, it describes the situation in the Czech Republic and concentrates on the demographic development of the Praha- západ county. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the social workers of Městský Úřad Černošice reflect poverty and social exclusion and whether it has any influence on school results. As far as the empirical part of the thesis is concerned, it contains qualitative research based on interviews with the social workers. The content of the interviews is based on the content analysis of the topics in the theoretical part of the thesis.
