Bures, Jan ; Klusacek, Jan
The article deals with modelling of traction vehicles being operated in the Czech Republic in the 25 kV/50 Hz power system with respect to their consumption quality and power consumption. Models of typical locomotive categories, sorted according to their electrical equipment and typical power quality, were created in PSCAD . The models are able to simulate the locomotives dynamical operation up to the detail of power quality.
Between an art and a spectator. Exposition. Projection. Inter-action.
Bureš, Jan ; Hájek, Petr (referee) ; Mitášová, Monika (advisor)
The thesis deals with the conceptual design of a space for the Liberal Arts Society in Brno in relation to the institution of the Brno House of Arts. The overarching motif of the Liberal Arts Society is the Liberal Arts Society Festival (LASF). The proposal builds on the research and theoretical part, exploring the relationship between contemporary art and the canon, the issue of exhibition spaces and institutions engaged in the exhibition and presentation of visual art, the role of the spectacle within these institutions and the role of visual art in society. It also builds on research stemming from philosopher Gilles Deleuze's book What is Philosophy?, whose reflections it further develops to explore the relationship between philosophy, art and science, with creation as their central motif, their interrelationships and how they influence, overlap and complement each other. The whole work is conceived as a utopian proposal for a new typology of architecture and the relationships, between the various scientific, artistic and philosophical disciplines. One of the key motifs of the work is also an attempt to map the process of how the design itself was created and shaped.
Electrical models of recuperative loads for electrical railway traction system feeder 25 kV, 50 Hz
Bureš, Jan ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Klusáček, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the modeling of drive vehicles from the point of power consumption and its quality that are being run in the Czech republic on the 25 kV/50 Hz current system. The locomotives being run on Czech territory are categorized according to their electric equipment and typical consumption quality, with respect to the historical evolution. The models of individual categories were created with the help of PSCAD simulation software. A system of control and power parametrization of models was also designed, based on the outer description, i. e. parameters of locomotives, line profile and the driving dynamics. Thus, the designed models are suitable for the simulation of energy flow profile in the traction system as a whole.
The Role of the Constitutional Court in the Political System of the Czech Republic
Kučerová, Marie ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Koubek, Jiří (referee)
The Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic is incorporated in the system of the supreme state authorities and is responsible for the protection of constitutionalism. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the role of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic in the political system of the Czech Republic on basis of delimitation of function thereof, and of basic relations to other state power bodies. The subject matter of the first part of the thesis is characteristics of the constitutional justice and the significance thereof in a democratic constitutional state. This interpretation also includes comparison of two principal models - a diffusion model, and a concentrated constitutional justice model. The basic idea of the thesis is to explore the characteristic position of the Constitutional Court between the law and the politics, it deals with political aspects of constitutional justice. The thesis is based on constitutional approach and aims to answer the question of how much the relation of the Constitutional Court towards the politics is determined by the system (institutionally, functionally). The main part of the thesis analyzes incorporation of the Constitutional Court into the system, the position of the Constitutional Court as an independent body of judicial power, and the relations...
Transformation of the KSČ/M since 1989
Roleček, Hynek ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Buben, Radek (referee)
The process of transformation of the Czechoslovak Communist Party (KSČ) and its successor the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) since November 1989 is a unique example of incomplete transformation of the communist party into the non-communist party. The core of this process was the development of the KSČ and the KSČM in 1989-1996. The party following a change in the political system saves in the first free elections in 1990. The party searches possibilities of changes, which culminates into internal referendum in 1991- 1992, when the majority decides to keep the original labelling. The decisive point of the whole process is Congress in Prostějov in June 1993 when the winning faction prevents the radical change and preserves the party. Despite the strong party fission, which creates a lot of non-communist parties, the KSČM may rely on the solid core of voters in the elections of 1996. It is a signal for the party that the trend starting by KSČM consolidates positions, even offers other options for strengthening.
Polish party system and perspecitves of its stabilization afer the 2007 elections
Zastánci volebního inženýrství v této souvislosti vkládali nemalé naděje do volební reformy z roku 19931.
Recognition of numerals in Czech texts
Bureš, Jan ; Hlaváčová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Jan (referee)
Purpose of this work is to create a tool capable of recognizing cardinal numerals in Czech text, both written with the use of digits and written with the use of words. Emphasis is placed on recognizing numerals written with words and their correct combining. Not only grammatically correct, but also other expressions and their combinations, that are quite frequent in the use of the language, were taken into account. Output is a numeric value of recognized numeral, and a set of possible morphological tags for each numeral. The program performs its own lexical and grammatical analysis based on a set of given numeral forms and rules.
Analytical and bioanalytical evaluation of novel potential drugs from the group of iron chelators
Bureš, Jan ; Štěrbová, Petra (advisor) ; Kujovská Krčmová, Lenka (referee) ; Hroch, Miloš (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis Candidate: Mgr. Jan Bureš Supervisor: Doc. PharmDr. Petra Štěrbová, Ph.D. Title of Thesis: Analytical and bioanalytical evaluation of novel potential drugs from the group of iron chelators High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) gained its unprecedented position among bioanalytical techniques due to its effectivity and versatility. If tuned properly, it can separate complex mixtures and can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis simultaneously, usually within a short time. Reliability of the HPLC methods is proven by their validation performed according to accepted guidelines. Iron chelation is considered to be an effective concept of treatment of various pathologies - from iron overload disease to cancer or neurodegenerative disorders. To develop new chelators for these indications it is important to investigate their structure- activity relationship, the fate of the drug in organism and its relationship to biological effects and toxicity etc. Modern analytical methods are essential tools for these studies. The first part of this work presents validated LC-UV and LC-MS methods for assay of aroylhydrazone iron chelators and related pro-drugs in biological...

The Year 1968 and the Issue of "Democratic Socialism" in Media Discussion
Tomka, Petr ; Tůma, Oldřich (advisor) ; Bureš, Jan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the notion of "democratic socialism" from the perspective of the media discussions on the pages of the contemporary press during the Prague Spring. The contemporary notion of "democratic socialism" relates here to the issue of searching of a possible new form of political system at the moment that the currently existing communist regime was finding itself in a deep crisis concerning almost all of its aspects and resulting eventually in the attempt of its overall reform in the year 1968. The political thought of Prague Spring is in this thesis divided into three main groups - reformist politicians, communist intellectuals and representatives of the non-party public, whereas by means of the analysis of the contemporary press the author tries to take a portrait of a certain general view of representatives of this three currents about the sense and substance of ongoing events and on the basis of the assessment of these factors consequently demonstrates that in their reflections on a possible goal of the political reforms are found important differences with regard to the issue of democratic character of the intended regime of "democratic socialism".
