Bohumil Vavroušek and reflection of his activities in contemporary press

Bohumil Vavroušek was a very important personality linked with the idea of Czechoslovakism and therefore with Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1938. In the course of his life he mapped folk and church architecture and collected documents of Czech writers, awakeners and artists.

The contribution gives a summary survey on the development of foreign contacts of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in 1962-1970. It follows numbers of foreign visits of scientific workers to conferences and symposia, study trips and stays and also international collaboration on research projects the same as the stays of foreign scientists at the Academy institutions.
Milada Paulová

M. Paulová was the first woman in the Czech history which became professor at university. She was a historian and dealt especially with the history of Eastern Europe and of Balkan Peninsula. Her research, lasting many years, in the documentation of the Slavonic revolt groups and their activities during the WWI was very important. M. Paulová was a member of many scholarly societies and organizations at home and abroad, and her research was highly regarded by representatives of the interwar Czechoslovakia and of Yugoslavia. Her personal papers deposited in the ASCR Archives were processed a published in inventory. The inventory is prefaced by a thorough introduction informing on her life and on the contents of preserved documentation.
The Committee for water development CAS (research of a backwater area of hydraulic structure Orlik)

The article is dealing about the water development CSA and itŽs A/16 working group, which made a research of the area dedicated to flood before the construction of the dam Orlik. On this research were very participated CAS institutions and its result was an unique list of ethnogrphic, historcal, geological and natural historical materal.

This article focuses on providing a brief overview of the institutional cooperation between the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences (ČSAV) and the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) within the framework of bilateral direct agreements. Cooperation arose out of the iniciative of the newly formed ČSAV in 1953 and devoloped namely in fields where it was possible to tie onto the previous cooperation of both sides (for example, in the field of mathematics and history).
