Possibilities of application of basalt fibers in concrete
Zourek, Milan ; Hela, Rudolf (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with possibilities of application of basalt fibers in concrete and in cementitious composites. In the theoretical part there is a summary of fibers usually used for fiberconcretes. Manufacturing process of basalt fibers is described, and properties of basalt fibers are summarized. Next part deals with properties of basalt fiber reinforced concrete. Concretely fresh properties, physical-mechanical properties, shrinkage and cracking, microstructure and fire resistance. The last chapter deals with fire resistance of concrete in general. The experimental part of this diploma thesis is divided into two phases. There were two mixes of basalt fiber reinforced concrete made with basalt aggregate and one mix of concrete without basalt fibers in the first phase. Density, consistency by slump and air content were determined as fresh properties. As hardened properties density, compressive strength and flexural strength were determined. There was determined the effect of the temperatures 600 and 800 °C on density, compressive strength and outward of specimens. Also, deformation during the high temperature curing was recorded. In the second phase of the experimental part there were three mixes of cementitious composite made with basalt fibers and one cementitious composite without basalt fibers. Density was determined as a fresh property. Material was monitored during its mixing. As a hardened properties density, flexural strength and compressive strength were determined. There was determined the effect of the temperatures 600 and 800 °C on density, flexural strength, compressive strength and outward of specimens.
Study of the effect of the addition of the cellulose fibers on the selected properties of concrete
Blaha, Lukáš ; Hela, Rudolf (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
This dissertation desribes the behavior of cellulose fiber reinforced concrete. In the theoretical section one can find basic information on cellulose fiber and its methods of production and usage in concrete structures. One can find the information about the effect of high temperature on the mechanical and physical attributes of cellulose fiber reinforced concrete, and also a comparison with other fibers used in concrete based on the research done using scientific literature. Furthermore the details about particular cellulose fibers are provided. In the experimental section the formulas for CHRYSO and GREENCEL concrete are designed. The influence of the addition of various types of cellulose fibers into both liquid and solid states of concrete was researched. Tests were also done on the effect of high temperatures (600 °C and 800 °C) on the firmness and densitiy of concrete, its deformations and visual changes. Furthermore, the resistance of cellulose fibers was monitored by monitoring the development of the pH environment (from pH 4 to pH 12) with long-term deposition of different types of cellulose fibers in these environments.
Studying the properties of fiber cement composites
Cederová, Kristýna ; Hoško, Marek (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with fiber-cement composites. Input materials are investigated for the production of fiber cement, are examined, the production and parameters of the pulp were monitored. Further, Hatschek's production technology and requirements for corrugated fiber-cement roofing are described. In the practical part the individual input materials and parameters of ground pulp were verified. The problem with production of samples and difference in the fineness of pulp milling in fiber cement products has been solved.

Utilization of waste glass in cement composites
Gottwaldová, Aneta ; Dufka, Amos (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the processing of waste glass in cement composites. Bachelor thesis includes a search theoretical and experimental part. Specifically, it was verified by fluorescent waste glass and glass screen at a dose of 5, 10, 15 and 20 weight % of a batch of cement. Properties of composites were examined after 7, 28, 56 and 90 days. We monitored TG analysis and XRD analysis of cement composites with waste glass.
The issue of the use of carbon nanotubes in cement composites
Pacltová, Klára ; Hela, Rudolf (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the efficiency of carbon nanoparticles in cement composites. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on the research of information about carbon nanotubes and their influence on cement composites. The practical part follows the research of the theoretical part, where is verified the effectiveness of carbon nanotubes in cement composites at different dosages.
Properties of concrete with carbon nanotubes
Šácha, Dominik ; Hela, Rudolf (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
Thesis is focused to properties of concrete with carbon nanotubes (CNT). Influence CNT to compressive strength of concrete and with aim to freeze-thaw resistance of CNT concrete. Experiments tests improving strength of concrete with addition of CNT and measurements of CNT to freeze-thaw resistance of concrete.
The issue of concrete resistance to high temperatures
Krejčík, Jakub ; Hela, Rudolf (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis deals with resistance of cement concrete to high temperatures. Theoretical part of bachelor´s thesis describes changes that occures in concrete at thermal loading and behavior of each component of concrete. Next there were discribed ways to improve resistance of concrete to high temperatures, by choosing the right component or by adding fibre reinforcement. In experimental part composites with bassalt and polypropylen fibre and with bassalt aggregates were tested. In these composites changes of compressive strenght and changes of density were mesured according to the thermal loading. Next individual fibre reinforcement polypropylen, celulose and bassalt fibres were exposed to the thermal loading and their changes were observed.
Mortar with alkali-activated matrix
Černá, Hana ; Hela, Rudolf (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
The thesis addresses the issue of alkali-activated materials and their manufacturing components. In the theoretical part the description of such materials is provided and the requirements for source materials are defined. The theoretical part further addresses the resistance of alkali-activated materials and their lifespan - namely sulphate resistance, chloride resistance, acid resistance, frost resistance, porosity, carbonation, resistance, abrasion resistance and heat resistance. The experimental part of the thesis focuses on compounding four different mixtures of alkali-activated materials. In the loosened stage, the weight was measured. In the hardened stage the weight was measured as well as the tensile strength when bending, the strength under pressure applied, heat resistance, water and defrosting chemicals resistance and formation of cracks.
Study of properties of Fiber-Reinforced Polymers
Fojtášek, Martin ; Hela, Rudolf (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with monitoring the properties of the FRP reinforcement when exposed to aggressive environments that cause degradation. In the theoretical part of this thesis there are described the method of production, the most commonly used types of FRP profiles, the composition of the FRP profiles, durability of FRP profiles against the action of aggressive environment and durability of the FRP material in the damage environment. Further more there are briefly described the most common types of tests on FRP profiles. In the experimental part of this thesis there are defined conditions for laboratory testing of FRP samples, which were stored in an alkaline environment at temperatures of 20 degrees, 40 degrees and 60 degrees. These samples of the FRP were stored and tested after 90 days. Subsequently there are described the changes of the physical properties of rebar in a time when saving in an aggressive environment.
